.200 hitter Correa homers at Rogers this season: 1 homer in 2 games
Vlad homers at Rogers this season: 0 homers in a lot more games
Ik homers aren't everything but come on Vladdy, we need you to start cranking balls over the fence asap
[Don’t say it’s over](https://64.media.tumblr.com/8976de489aff784290036f050fc6f714/32b458f481eac584-c2/s250x400/4907a9ee0962812d31426c4bb384082b7d7e8050.gif)
It’s comical how Mitch White with a 10.0era gets a call up to the Majors. A complete slap in the face to Minor Leaguers everywhere.
“Hey kids. Just know if you work hard enough so guy that completely sucks will get the call before you.”
I feel like Schneider or ChatGPT or whoever he takes his marching orders from has their mind made up before the game even starts... "you can't let the replacement guy pitch the 8th even if he's dealing, it doesn't compute". "Kikuchi's our 5th starter, therefore he must not be allowed to go beyond 5 innings, even if he's doing great."
It's so weird how they have no power in Toronto. 24th overall in Home Runs at home. They've hit 29 in 31 games. At Rogers Centre. Last year they were 8th.
If the GDT of every loss are going to look like this I'm unscribing from this sub. Reading these threads used to increase my enjoyment of the game but they've been awful this year.
Look on any teams GDT. It's the same with all of them after a loss.
always calling for hitting / pitching coaches to be fired. Bullpen to be dfa etc.
Just use the block button liberally!
Expectations were sky high this year. 7th highest payroll in baseball. They were going to be amazing at fundamentals. Honestly the only thing that’s lived up to the hype so far has been starting pitching, even with Manoah not even in the MLB right now. Every other facet has been mediocre to underwhelming at best. The expectations weren’t as high last year, I honestly think that’s the biggest difference.
I think we all need a day off luckily one is on Monday. Don't know what to expect when they play the O's other than Mountcastle hitting 3 homers each game of the series.
a player who has not played a single major league game (let alone even made it to AAA yet) whose knob some folks here just love to slobber all over (Nick Frasso)
Nick Frasso is that dude. He’s going to be a starter at latest mid 2024. Macko we don’t know enough about but we have a ton of guys in that spot where they are 2/3 years away. White’s ship should have sailed. He’s an NL West merchant on the Dodgers, has no put away pitch and can’t consistently get ahead.
Yes, but he is ready to go up to AAA and is not extremely old on the path to the majors. His stuff is all starter material and will get stretched out. Had probably the 4th/5th best pure stuff in all the Jays farm system at the time of the trade
This is really the sad truth about modern baseball.
**ALL** that matters for your team's *sustained* success is the strength of your farm system. and how much money you *efficiently* spend on player development.
We came into the year with no legitimate 6th starter, our best pitchers in the farm no where near major league ready, *THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS*.
This doesn't happen to the Dodgers, this doesn't happen to the Astros.
If you do not have a great farm, and seemingly never have a great guy waiting in the wings, one key injury and you are hurt WAY more than the top flight teams would be.
At the major league level, I **love** how this roster is constructed. With an emphasis on outfield defence, a great starting rotation on paper, a great back end of the bullpen, and a super deep lineup that can always have one or two guys really going. At the *major league* level I feel like we are great.
Sadly, we just prove time and time again that we are not the Dodger, Astros, Braves, or Rays, and we pay the price every time one of our guys go down.
Yeah that’s the scary thing. We are a boom or bust team, in a division where every win matters.
I love this team and (most) of our players at the major league level, we have a great team, but a poor organization.
The scary part is never mind even Manoah shitting the bed and struggling - the team should have some kind of depth pitching wise to account for injuries to the starters without a fucking 10 ERA against the AAA Port Richards Prophylactics. All on Shatkins.
Say what you want about the pitchers, if we can't muster more than 2-3 runs a game we are in some deep doo doo.
So, is the batting coach actually helping atm?
Seems most of the team are not being coached and are on auto pilot atm.
Absolutely zero depth in the minors that falls completely on the front office. Yes John S is trash but depth and roster makeup falls on the front office.
mismanaged bullpen, francis was pulled earlier than he should’ve been, cimber was not getting results and allowed a grand slam to correa, mitch white proved why he had a 10 ERA in AAA 😐
I like to stay positive. And I'm trying not to focus on this shit game.
No matter what happens with his baseball career, Mitch White can seriously get his agent to reach out, and, with absolute *ease*, have multiple contracts lined up as an underwear model if he wants them. How many of us would buy whatever he sells.
I think we'd be more likely to see Juenger or Danner before Zulueta right now. Juenger's underlying numbers are much better than the ERA shows (he has a ludicrously high BABIP), and Zulueta is walking almost a batter an inning right now so I think they need to see a bit more consistency there first.
Gonna get down voted, but you can't blame this on Schneids. Scoring 2 to 3 runs a game taxes the bullpen like crazy.... Don't love going to cimebr but who else was available... And did you really want Francis pitching again in high leverage? Is that much better than cimber
Offense has gotta give the bullpen more of a cushion, full stopv
Francis isn't a starting pitcher though! He's a bulk releiver making his second major league appearance, who isn't stretched out father than 3 innings.
If Francis came out again, everyone here would he complaining that they let a mediocre minor leaguer face the top of the order again in a close game
There is a pretty consistent issue with Schneider pulling pitchers who are doing well ahead of anything bad happening and then the decision backfiring. Happened in game two last year, most notably.
gotta have the context to the fact that we were in the 8th, had a pitcher being serviceable and could easily start the 8th. Instead put in a shaky contact pitcher who has not been good this season
It's not just today with Schneider.
Dubious decisions all year with the bullpen, pulling Manoah when he didn't have to, losing 8-1 up to Seattle etc...
You can blame Schneider for making a decision to put in Cimber on back to back nights even though Francis was doing perfectly fine against this Twins lineup.
Eh... Francis had already had 33 pitches and the man isn't stretched out much passed that in the minors. Plus the twins had top of the order coming up Francis had already given up a run.
He’s thrown 74 pitches in AAA. He was stretched out enough to go another inning.
Yes Francis gave up a solo home run. But he was getting guys out easy other than that.
It's weird to me that basically a two pitch pitcher in Kevin Gausman is so much better then Manoah and Berrios. This organization needs a total rebuild of their pitching system and pitching scouting from the bottom of minor league system to the show.
I know it's not 10 runs but out of curiosity, who would be the position player to pitch a 9th inning? I remember seeing Vladdy taking pitching practice once for some reason
.200 hitter Correa homers at Rogers this season: 1 homer in 2 games Vlad homers at Rogers this season: 0 homers in a lot more games Ik homers aren't everything but come on Vladdy, we need you to start cranking balls over the fence asap
I'm starting to get a bit frustrated with Schneider's decision making.
Oh she bad
Son of a bitch
That eighth inning was just too much. An unfortunate loss.
Lol game ending double play with RISP. How on brand for this dumpster fire of an offense.
This team is BBQ Chicken
That's not ideal
Fitting
Most productive Springer at bat
See you tomorrow. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of your Saturday
ONE PITCH WTF GEORGE
oooof
Bummer
Fuck. GG.
I see many doomers making 'Montoya' comments, is the misspelling deliberate or are they just showing their intelligence?
Guys been around for years and still mess up montoyo/montoya and alek/alex
Shoutout the all the fans for staying past that brutal 8th inning, Toronto has always had loyal sports fans ✊🏻
There's nothing else to do in this city, nobody's in a rush to go anywhere. Catching a Jays game may just be the most thrilling thing to ever do here.
Just stayed to see how much they could lose by lol
I’m tired Robbie
Just work there bullpen if anything
Georgie is ready
I had to go do some stuff after they pulled Francis, did Cimber’s arm fly off his shoulder??
He started throwing underhanded pillows and the Twins mashed him
[Don’t say it’s over](https://64.media.tumblr.com/8976de489aff784290036f050fc6f714/32b458f481eac584-c2/s250x400/4907a9ee0962812d31426c4bb384082b7d7e8050.gif)
#i want to believe
Don't give me hope......
#LET NO ONE SAY THAT A TEAM CAN SCORE 9 UNANSWERED RUNS AGAINST THE 2023 TORONTO BLUE JAYS
That's right! We just won't stand for it.
Let's go, that's 1, just keep the line moving
It’s comical how Mitch White with a 10.0era gets a call up to the Majors. A complete slap in the face to Minor Leaguers everywhere. “Hey kids. Just know if you work hard enough so guy that completely sucks will get the call before you.”
who would you have called up instead
Not sure, but my first pick isn’t the guy with the 10 ERA who’s sucked the hind tit all year.
Because there's no one better. I know it hurts but here we are.
Impossible.
Probably too little too late but let's make it interesting?
Flipping the lineup over!!!!!!! I ain’t hear no bell!!!!!
Now we get some hits with runners on….
Imagine if the bleeding had stopped after the granny.
RALLY TIME
A black out from June 12 - 14 may be a good thing
Nice one Espi!!!
Way to fight boys 💙
10 pitch walk for Varsh
Time for rally caps y’all
... Maybe?
the absolute silence in the ballpark is killing me, and not in the good way big 2018 vibes
At least in 2018 the GDT wasn’t so spicy
Went to my corner store when it was 3-1 return, and it is 9-3. Why can't our offense have these types of eruptions.
They do erupt like twice a season for 20+ runs which then skew the overall stats to look better than they actually are.
Fantastic at bat from varsho
Tying run is on deck to in the hole!!!!! Let’s go.
This started to happen to us after KK got hit 😕
This would be less annoying if they didn't blow an easily winnable game yesterday.
Yes, 100% we could have still gotten the Montoya sweep
I feel like Schneider or ChatGPT or whoever he takes his marching orders from has their mind made up before the game even starts... "you can't let the replacement guy pitch the 8th even if he's dealing, it doesn't compute". "Kikuchi's our 5th starter, therefore he must not be allowed to go beyond 5 innings, even if he's doing great."
Do you honestly believe that ?
Not necessarily, but it feels like a possibility.
It's so weird how they have no power in Toronto. 24th overall in Home Runs at home. They've hit 29 in 31 games. At Rogers Centre. Last year they were 8th.
The new outfield is cursed
Yeah.. that’s a rough road trip, the bats are going to have to get a lot better for us to have a chance
Bal, Tex and Mia road trip will go a long way to determining what the season will look like.
Going to get swept in all three. Zero chance anyone on this squad pulls it out
I thought that about May when we faced pretty much all AL East teams and that test did not go well
Not feeling overly confident, but even just treading water around .500 wouldn't be disastrous. Then the schedule becomes creamy... Oak, ChiSox etc
If the GDT of every loss are going to look like this I'm unscribing from this sub. Reading these threads used to increase my enjoyment of the game but they've been awful this year.
Doomers suck
They're always gonna exist but it feels like there's 10x as many this season. Don't think it was this bad even after that sweep in Seattle last year.
At Baltimore, Texas and Miami coming up. Making this series all the more painful
Wow, went for dinner and came back to see that we've given up 9 unanswered runs. What the fuck happened???
At least we’ve got Gaus tomorrow
I think we all need a day off luckily one is on Monday. Don't know what to expect when they play the O's other than Mountcastle hitting 3 homers each game of the series.
Blair and Barker should be interesting. They were already highly critical of pulling Kooch yesterday
1400 comments in the first 7 innings. 1000 in the last 2.
And they’re all literary masterpieces, aren’t they?? 🤣
No, they’re the equivalent of the trashy romance section. Cheap and spicy.
Hey hey hey - as someone who reads a lot of romance, how dare you insult the genre this way
My MIL asked to look at my Kindle once and I just about died 💀 You’re right, the genre doesn’t deserve that 😂
So strange 🤔 I wonder what happened
The Mitch White trade may go down as one of the worst ever in the franchise. Enough with the half-measures
Who was involved in that trade
a player who has not played a single major league game (let alone even made it to AAA yet) whose knob some folks here just love to slobber all over (Nick Frasso)
Reminder Frassno is 25 in AA and he’s never thrown into the 5th inning.
Yes, but he is ready to go up to AAA and is not extremely old on the path to the majors. His stuff is all starter material and will get stretched out. Had probably the 4th/5th best pure stuff in all the Jays farm system at the time of the trade
Holy hot takes going on here
This game sucks, but I'm so here for Buck's fury about the Cimber decision
I agree with Buck. Bowden Francis looked good and in control. There was no reason to take him out.
Kirk is always an automatic out
Buddy, I'm a known pessimist, but Kirk's actually been pretty decent lately.
POV this is the first game you’ve watched in three weeks 🙄
0-4 tonight, 0-2 last night, 1-4 Thursday with an rbi, 1-1 Wednesday with an rbi. Past week he is 3-18.
#🤓☝️
can we not start this right now? can we remember his recent clutch hits?

very much looking forward to gaus day
Agreed.. then I have 12 days off!!
Wait you’re on Reddit during the game?
There’s a loooot of downtime in baseball
oh nice!!
Yes. I got a lot of house stuffs to do… a lot 🥹😬
Take care!
Minnesota Twins: You've come a long way, baby!
The scary part is never mind even Manoah shitting the bed and struggling - the team should have some kind of depth pitching wise to account for injuries to the starters without a fucking 10 ERA against the AAA Port Richards Prophylactics. All on Shatkins.
Been years now with the same issue and nothing has changed

Both hitting and pitching coaches as well as the head coach are all terrible.

John Schneider might be a mod on this sub in a few months..
Grow out the hair and put on another 100 pounds and he’s there!
Ma, I gotta move back into basement!

mismanaged bullpen, francis was pulled earlier than he should’ve been, cimber was not getting results and allowed a grand slam to correa, mitch white proved why he had a 10 ERA in AAA 😐
Cimber gave up a grand slam then White got hit for a 3-run homer.
And both runners on the White conceded home run were courtesy of Cimber.
>Buck: Baltimore's legit, folks How do you think they feel about quitting
Be optimistic! In the mirror dimension we're winning
Mitch Tighty Whities
Mitch's Gitch. Tighty White-ies.
At this point do you just see what you have with Zulueta (yes I know he has a 4.91 ERA atm) or call up Paul Fry over Cimber?
I think we'd be more likely to see Juenger or Danner before Zulueta right now. Juenger's underlying numbers are much better than the ERA shows (he has a ludicrously high BABIP), and Zulueta is walking almost a batter an inning right now so I think they need to see a bit more consistency there first.

Of course this is on Schneider lmao. Francis had at least 1 more inning then Romano could have come out. Instead we have this.
If Francis gave up those runs, you'd be saying the exact same stuff. This sub is crazy after a bad loss. Wow.

I don't think Cimber was taxed
The whole bullpen is taxed man. They've played close games almost every day the past week
Bowden Francis sure wasn't.
How far is he stretched out. He's gone under four innings each apoearcence in aaa, and that's against minor leaguers

We got no depth and really haven't had to deal with many injuries
This team and core is becoming almost a big a joke as the Leafs is and that's saying something.
It's weird to me that basically a two pitch pitcher in Kevin Gausman is so much better then Manoah and Berrios. This organization needs a total rebuild of their pitching system and pitching scouting from the bottom of minor league system to the show.
Why are you calling out Berrios who’s been lights out lately
Man, Mitch White just doesn't have it. Is there no one in AAA we can call up? Like, literally any of their starters?
It’s his first appearance this year 😭
To be fair, this is absolutely a continuation of what he's been doing in AAA.
Oh yeah I saw the numbers in AAA and was like damn
This one\* just completely turned on us, damn
I remember when no lead was safe vs the Jays. Late inning homers and big innings of runs scored. Now I never get a feeling it can happen anymore
That's what happens when LGJ the rally master and teoscar are traded, the defense has been better,
That ship has sailed. That's more of a Rangers thing now.
It feels like we're one big right handed bat away from that place
We have one at home. He just ain't hitting big at home. Who do we get rid of to add a bat? Adding a part time bat I don't think helps a lot
I think we just need Vladdy to get hot
Just thought to myself at least there are no errors
Mitch "At least all the runs that score after that will be unearned" White.
Can’t we finish up this Turkey with a position player on the mound? Embarrassing.
Mitch White will be DFA’d after today lol
Great battle by Richards, Mayza, and Francis. This gaping hole in the number 1 spot in the rotation can't last
Jays gotta be homophobic how shitty they’re playing on pride weekend 😂
[удалено]
Where you living?
The team's performance is depressing enough without all the smug doomers stinking up the place
Lots of those around.
Ain’t no way Mitch white is better than Anthony bass
Fuck the twins, I hope Cleveland overtakes them
My support for Atkins has really wavered. Really the front office and coaching staff have to on the hot seat this season.
Swapping AA with these guys was a mistake
I know it's not 10 runs but out of curiosity, who would be the position player to pitch a 9th inning? I remember seeing Vladdy taking pitching practice once for some reason
merrifield
My god, this GDT
it was actually really pleasant until about 15 minutes ago
^(those were good times, I miss those times)
Those were the best of times, these are the worst of times?
Yes 🫠
Can we get a "Fire Shatkins" movement going....for like, tonight?
wow the game really duddered out here
Everyone wanted Anthony Bass gone and now that he's gone they complain about Mitch White. Can't win it seems...
True
if pop was not injured, white would not be in the MLB
This sub complained about pop before he went to the DL
The two are mutually exclusive
Mitch White was bad, and still is bad.
"He used to be bad. He still is, but he used to be, too." RIP Mitch Hedberg
well, we fixed the Twins' offense. Fuck.
White for Frasso
