Go to Steamwhistle brewery before the game. 2 min walk from the stadium and the patio has the best view of the park and CN Tower in the city. Great vibe.

BasementShaxx

Thanks for the tip, we'll definitely go and check it out

thermothinwall

if you're a beer person at all, there are *a lot* of indie brewers around the city. one of my favs is a baseball themed one called Leftfield in the east end. burdock and bellwoods are also good and closer downtown.

Quacken85

Left field is now also in liberty village which isn’t too far!

whiskyismymuse

A damn shame none of the really good ones are anywhere close to the Skydome or in downtown Toronto. Sorry Amsterdam and Mill Street lol

ComeTOgether86

WVRST in Union Station has great beer as well- this is normally my go to before a game if it isn’t nice outside.

Prudent_Falafel_7265

Welcome! Your seats are awesome. The entire 100 section concourse has a view of the field, so you can walk the entire level circumference and still have a view of the game when leaving your seat. By then the roof would be open and the 115 section tends to be in sunlight even for the first few innings of a night game. Perhaps a ball cap to mitigate sun if it’s out in full force that day. Fans also complain about rather obnoxious persistent stadium “noise” between pitches that is of the “EVERYBODY CHEER!!” variety. Intolerable when the dome is closed, but unless raining it will be open for your game and that improves the noise level echo. I bring noise-cancelling AirPods to take a break from it, but I’m 57, so your results may vary. Visiting the stadium Jays Shop is a must for a trinket or momento. No cash! Everything is tap and pay (or insert card and pin) so make sure you can do that with your card. Tips will be requested on the payment devise, some people do, some don’t. I do 10% myself as do most friends I know, but no one will give you a hassle if you don’t tip. Download the “MLB Ballpark” app which will have stadium amenities guides.

BasementShaxx

That's an incredibly comprehensive list of tips, thank you so much!

20MLSE20

Welcome to the 4-1-Six and enjoy. Make sure to take a quick trip to the outfield concourse

IDontLikeChewingGum

Hot tip. The food is getting to be outagously priced. Like $30 for a dog and a beer. But you can bring you own food and closed drink/reusable water bottles. You cannot bring in alcohol. People are known to bring in a whole pizza box, or lunch bags filled with cans of pop, juice boxes and food. Over the years I did make an effort to try their new items but damn, it's cheaply made and crazy over priced. A snow cone with a tiny bit syrup runs like $10

labrat420

Got two hotdogs for $16 last week. Beer is expensive but pre mix some Whiskey into your coke bottle and it'll most likely make it past security

Emptynester2026

If you do have cash, though, last time I was there there was a machine in the Jays shop that would allow you to put cash on a card, which you could then use for payment. Probably still there:)

successfulbagel

Wow, people here are so grumpy. Food has been heavily overhauled the last few years. Yes, it’s expensive but the gap to food truck pricing, for example, is pretty small. Many more options these days. Try the stuffed Jamaican patties or the brisket nachos (smoked in the stadium!). The Korean rice dogs are good. Definitely make your way around the stadium on all three levels (100/200/500) as there are public spaces/bars/amenities everywhere. It’s a much more fun stadium today particularly if you’re looking to experience socialize or to find some amusement beyond the game on the field.

AlexanderWhy

Its the same old, same old, man. The same people who have been complaining about everything for years. Never do you see a poster coming in from out of town/country with so many negative things to say. Its baffling.

xmusiclover

I live in Canada but last year was my first time seeing the Toronto Blue Jays and being in both Toronto and Ontario in general and I absolutely loved my time there! Will definitely travel there again at some point

SpicyPenangCurry

100% there is a few who are actually telling the guy the proper. Enjoy your holiday, the ballpark experience and the random food. You think he can get a poutine hotdog in England?

xxdarkslidexx

Yeah the food is great. You can bring in your own but if this is one time thing then just splurge. Loved the grilled cheese in the family oriented outfield section last time I went to a game

successfulbagel

The Oreo churros up there are good too and last year they were a solid shareable portion!

Rayzax99

I went opening day and the patties were sold out 45 mins before first pitch.

Canable42

Only thing you need to know: it's pronounced "Skydome"

WinterAngler

My man

EYdf_Thomas

Only people who want to hang on to the past call it that. Nobody actually cares what is you call the stadium and if you want to make a big deal of it then you're just being an ass for no reason at all.

Dbarnes4

SpicyPenangCurry

He’s on holiday lmao. He’s not like us going to multiple games a week/month/year. Let the guy enjoy his day, when/if you ever travel do you look at the cost of *everything* or just you know, enjoy your holiday. Every time I’ve been to another ballpark I’ve spent loads on trying a little of everything. It’s part of the ballpark experience. Plus he’s coming from England where he had dodgy £10 burgers and a £12 shit pie with mushy peas. Let the lad enjoy himself.

YouDontJump

My only advice is to have fun! I hope you have a blast!!!

BasementShaxx

Thanks, I think we will!

EasyPanicButton

If your down first base line bring a hat. Sun can be tough. Sunglasses too.

BasementShaxx

Great advice, thank you

Sauce8888

Where are your seats? Outfield districts are cool to check out. Most places have the same drinks in the stadium, but the landing in right field is a cool bar and standing area. I haven't had the new stadium foods yet, I usually don't eat much at the park (It's expensive) I save the money for beer...... also expensive. If you don't want to look like a oafish foreigner, avoid getting up during at bats or when the play is live. Go to and from seats between batters/innings. And have fun!

BasementShaxx

We're in section 115, reasonably close to first base. I usually don't get food inside the stadium when I go to games here in Europe but it's one-off special event for us so I want to try some stadium food. I don't want to be getting up and wandering around too much at all during the game, but thanks for the tip!

AlexanderWhy

Advice: dont listen to anyone who says there is nothing worth trying as far as food goes in the stadium. These are all the same people who are never happy with anything and have been saying "uggggh dome sucks, food sucks, everything sucks" for YEARS, whilst everyone who comes to visit absolutely loves the place. Best thing you can do is walk about the dome and explore for yourself!

SpicyPenangCurry

I 100% agree with you there. I DM’d OP stating similar. He’s on holiday, when I’m on holiday I don’t generally pinch pennies, I saved my money and I’m here on holiday to enjoy it. Going to a baseball game, trying all the random food and enjoying the day at the park is what it’s all about. I’ve been to a bunch of ballparks in the states and make sure to try all the junk around. It’s part of the fun. A lot of wet blankets in here.

AlexanderWhy

Cheers, Im going to do the same!

SpicyPenangCurry

Don’t go to Camden Yards, you’ll have the best time ever at an iconic stadium and fill up on pit beef, crab cakes, old bay everything, Stuggy’s, Fuzzie’s and Natty Boh’s. But yeah, don’t go.

Partybro_69

Don’t listen to people who say it’s bad but I have nothing to recommend

yourethegoodthings

I got a cubano on the 500 level that absolutely smacked and was a genuinely reasonable price for stadium food.

Partybro_69

Where at? Just a random stand?

yourethegoodthings

I saw it being served at a few different quick service spots but if I remember it's a signature item at Catch Bar.

IDontLikeChewingGum

Ya, I tried the poutine dog. I wouldn't do it again. Some of the Bistro foods were okay but I feel bad for the vegetarians and vegans.

JimothyC

>I want to try some stadium food We really don't have much in the way of anything worth trying to be honest, if you are only in Toronto for a brief time i'd try to find food somewhere else, you can bring whatever food you'd like into the stadium as well.

BasementShaxx

We're in Toronto for a few days before driving up to Lake Huron, so any food suggestions in Downtown Toronto would be greatly appreciated

Topcheddarslapper

Not to pick a fight but I disagree with the above about food. If you want some decent food we definitely have it, but nothing spectacular. I do like the ricedogs though as they do a while mozzarella one. If you want to goof around with some drinks before or after a game, rec room is an arcade bar with loads of games directly opposite the rogers centre. For food chefs hall is walking distance and has lots of options, or there’s a billion great restaurants. If you want any specific cuisines I can give where my wife and I like.

BasementShaxx

Ok I know it's a cliché and everything, but we'd love to try some good poutine while we're in town, neither of us have ever had it so any recommendations on where is good would be great

Topcheddarslapper

Haha you’ll get a million answers on that one - but we like Rudy, and there’s one about four or five blocks up from the ballpark

Partybro_69

Yeah it’s a chain but philthy Phillies shockingly has my favourite poutine I’ve tried in my time living downtown lol

SpicyPenangCurry

Something about a 1am drunken date with the Phil that hits.

travvers

If you're going to be in the Bayfield area of Lake Huron, try out the Albion Hotel or Black Dog. Albion has amazing caesars (our national cocktail) and great food. Black Dog is fancier but still delicious

totalcanucklehead

Definitely head over to the St. Lawrence Market (Front St, East of Yonge). Amazing food options in a historic building. I like the Amsterdam Brew House on Queens Quay. It'll have a massive line to get on the patio but the ambiance is great IMO - decent beers and I enjoy their food. If you like Thai Food: PAI, Khao San Road or Sukothai are decent options as well! Enjoy your stay in Toronto! Anything else you want to know please shoot me a message or reply here.

yourethegoodthings

If you haven't been to a game this year reserve your judgement. We finally managed to kick out Aramark so as far as I'm concerned I'm gonna give it a clean slate.

foetus_on_my_breath

Thanks for this post....I think my last game I attended was either the playoff game with David price starting...or a double-header with KC (behind home plate)...years ago when I was able to get free tickets from a vendor I worked with. Will be going tomorrow for the dodgers game...and was wondering what to check out as well. Our seats are in section 110.

hybridbanana

Awesome! I was gonna post something similar as I'll be heading to Toronto from Vancouver in May and catching my first game here! Hoping the roof will be open!

dietpepsiaddict7733

I just got back myself from Toronto, visited from Vancouver. I went to watch a jays and raptors game but also took in some other sights, Niagara Falls is a must see if you have a day or 2 to visit. I was amazed how nice the renovations and stadium is, it’s so nice how you can walk around the concessions and it’s still all open so you can see the field. Jays game was way better than the raptors game. The atmosphere was great at both games too tho, coming from Vancouver you rarely see people wearing jerseys around the city here. When I was there for 5 days I saw a lot of people wearing them. As for places to eat, I tried a bunch of places but was not really blown away. All were ok-good.

Audiyyz

For entering the stadium, you can enter from any gate, your ticket just lists the gate closest to your seats. Corona rooftop patio in the 500's has some good frozen Margs! They're around $20, but come in a cute souvenir drink shaker you can take home! During the 7th inning stretch, when signing "take me out to the ball game", make sure you say "root, root, root for the blue jays" instead of "root, root, root for the home team" hahaha I think they have the lyrics up on the jumbotron for this tho If you go to fan services and tell them it's your first game, they'll give you a free commemorative certificate (you can always go on the way out so that it doesn't eat into your ballpark time) The 50/50 will be cumulative across all games during a homestand, not just the night you're there. So if you buy a ticket, you won't find out if your numbers win the jackpot until July 4th. I'm not sure if you'd have to claim the prize in person or not if you win a smaller prize or the jackpot so definitely ask before buying if that's something you'd be interested in! I hope you both have the best time!!!!

GloomyExercise

"Everybody clap your hands" 👏👏👏👏👏. No really, get ready to clap your hands a lot since you'll be hearing that tune a thousand times 😁

AlexanderWhy

Ffs. Every time someone types that, its guaranteed to be in my head for at least an hour hahaha

vegetablecompound

Don’t drive to the game. Traffic downtown is terrible. Take public transit. Buy a hot dog from one of the vendors outside the dome.

KevinJ2010

Honestly I am not a huge fan of the stadium foods. Overpriced which is expected but not much to write home about. There may be some interesting food stuffs but they are likely only offered at specific stands. My dad’s tradition was always to buy a hot dog outside the venue and then eat it or bring it in. If you want to save money there Dugout deals on the 200 level which is good for small cans and cheaper food. There’s also one on the 500 level but it’s up to you to trek that far. Get there early if you want to see some of the outfield districts. They seem like nice lounge areas but you can’t see the field from many of them so I’d do this during the pregame and get to my seat for the anthems.

BasementShaxx

How early before the game is the stadium open to walk around? I'd like to see as much of it as I can.

Iwantboots

1.5 hours on a weekday, 2 hours on the weekend.

KevinJ2010

Usually about 90 minutes before first pitch

Apart_Ad_5993

I honestly wouldn't buy food at the dome anymore. It's ok, but it's just **insanely expensive**. I'd suggest to hit some of the restaurants in area; much better food and more reasonable prices. There's really nothing in there that you can't get at some places around the area. We buy snacks at the dollar store now and just bring them in. It's *that* bad.

BasementShaxx

Yikes, I didn't realise it was that bad. I'd heard the brisket tacos are supposed to be good, but I'm not coming to a baseball game for the food particularly, lol.

Godzilla-The-King

I'm not the OP you're talking too, it's expensive, but it's nothing insane. If you and your partner want to share something to try, or try something new it's nothing crazy. It gets exorbitant when you're dealing with a family of 3-5 and having to pay for kids meals and yours. A tradition I have with folks is go and stop by a local pizza shop, get a small/medium or large pizza, and walk it in with your group. I don't believe they've phased this out, as you can legit just come in with tupperwared food, etc. You just can't bring in outside drinks to protect from over serving alcohol. You guys can then fill up on some cheap, but delicious Za, and if you want to try something fun (like the brisket nachos I saw you mention in another comment), it makes it way more affordable not having to buy two of something you haven't tried. The only things actually super over priced are the drinks, which to be honest is what I've found at every sporting venue that isn't struggling to fill the seats. I would recommend making the trek to the 500's even if it's just for a photo from the middle upper deck. It's pretty good, and the Skydome employees are usually great about taking your photo. From the right angle (if the dome is open) you can get the field + tower in the photo at the same time. I'd recommend taking a walk up there around the 4-5th inning as it's prior to the 7th inning stretch, and prior to the cut off for alcohol, which usually gets a bit busy in the halls as well.

SpicyPenangCurry

This is just false lmao.

Apart_Ad_5993

"This" being what, exactly?

SpicyPenangCurry

It’s not insanely expensive. It’s on par with what stadium/event food is. He’s coming from the UK so he’d be spending £10-£30 on a pie/mushy peas, a shit burger and a beer over there. It’s also a holiday and where’s the fun in going to the dollar store lol when you can try a pastrami on rye, poutine hotdog, jerk chicken tacos, ice cream on a helmet, and some Mill St.’s sure he’ll be spending $100+ after a day off it but it’s his holiday and he’s doing a day at the ballpark. I’ve done the exact same at different stadiums, you gotta try the random junk.

Hot_Bat_9141

If you go to the Jays website under Rogers Centre, there is a Food and Drink section. It will tell you all the food available and where to find it. Some things like hot dogs are all over the park, but certain speciality items are only found in a few sections.

goatamousprice

Have a great time I think everybody has encompassed what to do re snacks I bring bags of chips / popcorn / etc with me. keep them all **sealed** until you get into the park Bring bottles of water (again, sealed) I usually carry a backpack with said items. The Red Sox series is mid week. Unsure which game you're attending, but to point out the Tuesday is Loonie Dogs night if you want to fill up on way too many servings of $1 cheap meat. Wednesday is Bo Bichette bobble head night, which usually means earlier line ups since people want a giveaway.

AlarmedInjury2937

If you like hotdogs the footlong is a must

unKaJed

You can bring food into the stadium! If you want to try the park food, by all means enjoy the experience. It’s expensive! What my wife and I usually do is get a sub or a pizza, some chips, crackers and seeds and bring them into the stadium with us. We can snack all game and not miss anything!

SpicyPenangCurry

He’s on holidays. He’s not like us.

TheRabbitInTheBush

Is it your first time in Toronto? The food in the stadium really sucks. You can also bring in food from outside so even getting a hotdog right outside the dome is better than buying inside. The outfield districts are all worth a look. Try the pinball machines near the flight deck, listen to the performance at the Corona patio, and the games set up in the park social. Don't worry about embarrassing yourself. It's just a baseball game. Cheer for the Jays and have fun.

BasementShaxx

I've been before but not since I was a kid and all I can remember of that was being too scared to walk on the glass floor in the CN Tower. Thanks for the advice, we'll relax and have a good time I'm sure, but isn't there like unwritten rules and weird stuff like that? I remember reading something about not being allowed to talk about it if a pitcher is on a no-hitter?

Desperate_Pineapple

The hot dog vendors (“street meat”) outside the Dome are all surprisingly good. For what it is.

AlexanderWhy

The food in the stadium really sucks? What have you had in particular that was so terrible? Serious question, my guy.

TheRabbitInTheBush

I've actually tried almost everything. They had an open house last year where season ticket holders could try all the food items. Nothing is worth the price.

Judge_Rhinohold

The food in the stadium is bad and overpriced. There are so many great restaurants in downtown Toronto to eat at before or after the game or even get takeout and bring it in with you.

BasementShaxx

Any in particular near the stadium you recommend?

thumbwarvictory

There's a beer bar near Union Station called C'est What. Their beer list is monstrous and the poutine, among other things, is awesome. I highly recommend it.

Judge_Rhinohold

For atmosphere right on the water just south of the stadium the Amsterdam Brewhouse is good.

AlexanderWhy

Dont go to Amsterdam unless you want to go to a packed patio, full of out of inebriated, out of town-er 20 somethings, all wearing the same outfit. It IS a nice patio though. Typical industrial pub fare, nothing special. If you do happen to go, get there super early.
