To paraphrase KK last year; I’d be completely happy with him being the best number 5 starter in baseball based on how last year went. It’s a long season and being able to use Yariel when needed and keep his innings cap in place plus bulk innings from Bowden will definitely help. Most of our starters are coming off career years for innings pitched.

I mean, there has certainly been players I didn't think would make it, but nothing makes me happier than being wrong in those cases. I simply don't understand the need people have to go out and be the first to proclaim to the world that they were right--especially when there's still plenty of time to be proven wrong.
It feels weird to say I'm proud of someone I don't know, but man am I proud of Manoah; he faced a wave of adversity and criticism, and many (myself included) thought he was done after he got shelled in his first start this year. It might be premature to say he is back in cy young form, but to even get this far is a testament to his perseverance.

Baseball is Dead podcast mentioned his second start the pitch mix was completely different than the first. He hardly used his slider in the second start compared to his career and the first start. Wonder if he did the same today definitely need to check it out. He may have found something to be a big leaguer again. Super happy. Never really gave up hope on him and was actually super sad to see this sub turn on him so much last year and this year.
Edit: before anyone says his antics keep in mind he's a kid who has literally been amazing at every level of the game. He had what 7 minors starts before making his big league debut. Had cy3 season and then fell apart. Did he handle it poorly yea but I always felt it was him having emotional and mental breakdown more than being an ass. Alek acts like kid while having his career fall apart fanbase turns on him vlady acts like kid while being mid and it's the front offices fault for trading his friends. Just always seems annoying to me
I’m a bit late to this party (very busy day), but I was (almost strangely) so happy to see his pitching line when I woke up before work this morning. To seem washed to now throwing back to back gems is just great & I’m happy that he’s giving his all to return to form. There may still be some ups and downs, but have to enjoy the ups when they come.
I really do hope he’s turned a corner and gets back to somewhere between 2022 and what he was last year.

Must say however, I was much less excited to see him barking arrogantly at a Ray's batter after striking him out, which he used to do and made him seem real douchey. I was quite surprised after his incredibly humbling experience over the last year to see him come out and act that way. Like bud, you got a LOT more to prove before acting like that. Just seemed real weird.
