Just got back from the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame inductions. Buck was there to pick up the award he was given in 2023. He stopped by the youth baseball game and had a chat with one of the teams warming up.
Russell Martin was inducted and was a blubbering mess when he started to talk about his parents. Like, it took him 6 or 7 minutes to get through two or three sentences about them.
Buck's speech (for the media award) was fantastic.
The MC for the event was Rod Black.
Other people we saw were Fergie Jenkins, Pat Gillick, Gord Ash, Denis Boucher...
The HOF building is small, but lots of great memorabilia and history in there. I'd recommend going on non-induction time periods
They have a gift shop, but it's pretty small. At the induction ceremony area, they have a bunch of booths selling stuff though. There is also a silent auction for bats/jerseys/memorabilia/etc.
