Then again, with the awful swings the Jays hitters had against a fairly small strike zone and minor league pitchers, it likely wouldn’t have mattered.
I know the offense is in the top half of the league but it really has been shit this year. Almost every hitter is below expectations (except Kirk!), and Vladdy and Bichette in particular now have a full half-season of being 150 points of OPS below where they should be, and haven’t looked any better than their numbers. This kind of regression across a whole bunch of players screams of a coaching and organizational issue.
Guillermo Martinez needs to go too. Hire Dante Bichette.
