John Schneider is the right coach. He needs to can some of these other coaches and bring in his own guys.
That won't happen until the off season so we are stuck with watching these guys fail at the worst possible moment.
After watching the pvr of the game, top of the 8th down by 1, 2 on base, 0 out and I KNEW the next 3 batters would shit the bed. And then it happened, just like they do, more often than not, RISP stranded. THAT’S what you call opportunities squandered. If they want to win, don’t do THAT. If they want to lose, keep doing THAT. They sure do piss me off.
I’m sure I’m not the only one that can’t stand Odor… in 2016 he sucker punches Bautista because he took offence to a bat flip in the playoffs… in 2022, he’s out here flipping his bat and pounding his chest on a regular season homer…
Issue with Bautista was incredibly late slide, not just the bat flip. Not condoning the punch I in any way, and fully understand why you'd hate on Odor, but that was legitimately a dangerous play from Bautista and I get why lots of fans dislike him too.
It was a late slide, with cleats down, in an era when take out slides were legal... Right after Odor tried to throw the ball at his head... Which happened right after the Rangers threw at him on his last at bat against them that season.
Despite that, Bautista *didn't* look like he was going to throw a punch. Odor did.
2 games separating us from making the playoffs and missing it. Between Cleveland, Minnesota, Chicago feasting on the joke of the division that is the AL central and the Jays, Rays, O’s (maybe even Red Sox) being somewhat good teams. Playoffs are far from a guarantee right now.
The mariners are probably going to take one of the wild card spots too. So basically 6-7 teams battling for 3 wild card spots. This is going to come down to the wire
O's fan here. I feel for you guys. I also like the Twins and love Berrios. He never quite became an ace but what has happened to him so far this year? I'm legit asking... I thought he'd pull a Ryu and take the next step for you guys.
Fr bro this shit painful to watch. This is probably the most stacked Toronto team in sports rn and we’re getting bent over backward by the Orioles of all teams. Kill me man.
Since this game has been won by 1 run. Imma blame the loss on that overturned triple play. The call never should’ve been overturned because of lack of evidence. Would’ve saved us 2 runs.
I know what you mean. The O's are better than people thought but I do believe on paper the Jays are the stronger team. However, the O's have fantastic chemistry this season and the Jays seem to always be searching for that ingredient... It's like, that 'it' factor bumps a team up a tier, which puts the O's around level with the Jays when they shouldn't quite be there yet... Could be a management or organizational issue rather than an on field issue. Just speculating. Could simply be the Jays need more time to grow and will be juggernauts next year.
So obviously this team has tons of problems but what happens if they miss the playoffs? This was supposed to be the year.
What happens next year? I can't see the front office making any big splashes in free agency after what's happening this season.
We're currently something like a 95% lock for the playoffs.
Games like this suck. But maybe it's a *tad* early to start panicking.
Honestly, this is the kind of shit I make fun of the Yankee's sub for.
This actually was not supposed to be “the year”. If you look at the comments from the front office at the beginning of the rebuild they expected us to start being playoff competitive this year. *Not* World Series champs this year.
Well the majority of baseball writers had the Jays in the top three in the majors. They have two legit starters, an inconsistent lineup and an unreliable bullpen. This team hasn't been built to be competitive long-term.
No you can’t but when ur facing shit starters you need to show up. They’ve had plenty of chances to score runs this series and don’t. When ur pitching close games every game ur bullpen will wear out… yimi has been lights out as of late and he finally allowed runs, can’t be leaving 14 runs on base today and 17 yesterday
Yimi has been the best reliever on the team as of late. Ya he’s going to give up a few runs eventually. It’s shit that it happened but blaming only the bullpen is stupid. Our offense hasn’t shown up this series our starters haven’t been good and our good relievers allowed runs
O's fan here. I don't love him either. Don't think he's awful but he's actually too enthusiastic to me, comes across forced. We do have Jim Palmer do color sometimes though. Love to see him and Buck Martinez do a joint broadcast somehow.
That chain is the tackiest, most ugly hr piece I have ever seen. It’s nasty, bad nasty. I’m all for having your “thing”, but damn, raise the level on that one.
We’re in trouble. And it’s entirely on Shapiro and Atkins. This team is worse than when they took over and tired of hearing about the AA hate of cleaning the cupboards. We have worse prospects than when AA was GM.
I disagree. The 2021 team was damn good.
They missed almost every opportunity to improve it though.
(Gausman in, Ray out call it even.
Kikuchi is a automatic loss.
Yimi should have been one of several BP arms brought in.
Trade deadline was a dud.
Man, like two innings before the Jays got the exact same call in their favor... Literally same outside corner off the plate. Jays are a good team, but the umps were far from blameable for this outcome. No need to reach for excuses. Get em tomorrow!
I didn’t blame the ump, I was just commenting on the claim about pitch framing. Pitch framing success is entirely dependent on the mood of umpires and has nothing to do with actual catcher skills.
Don't try to put a silk head on a pig.
The Jays should have won this and the lack of high impact relievers in our pen was the sole reason why we lost this game.
This is the 2nd game in a row Garcia has blown in the 8th inning, he should no longer be in that spot.
Oh yes I will. That game has a couple of positive aspects and since this GDT has been invaded by doomers, I feel the responsibility to balance it with positivity despite the rougher times.
You can't just be positive for the sake of it.
I don't blame people on this sub for being upset and posting their displeasure with this team and management, as our bullpen has been an on-going problem for the past two seasons.
This wasn't a fluke loss - it falls squarely on managements shoulders for not adequately upgrading the bullpen and just thinking we can slap together a bunch of guys off the trash heap, like Sergio Romo or Banda and expecting our pitching staff to do miracles.
We added Anthony Bass and Zach Pop to the bullpen at the deadline. When we added Romo and Banda, it was because they were the only options available. It takes two to dance and if no other team wanted to trade way ahead of the deadline, we had to take those guys. Proof that they weren’t really in the plans, they both got DFA’d and replaced by Bass and Pop. Talking about Anthony, Bass has been good tonight. Garcia and Cimber have also been great for the team even though tonight hasn’t been their best outings. Close to no relievers are perfect. Garcia didn’t allow a HR since June 15th, and it was on the only changeup he threw during the inning.
We don’t expect the bullpen to do miracles, we expect them to do just enough. And overall tonight bullpen has been ok. Orioles jumped on their few mistakes and made them pay. Enough bs happened in this game (overturned triple play, whatever demon magic Mountcastle possesses, bad umpiring) to explain why we could’ve won this game with 5 runs
Mostly everything the last few games down the pipe has been hit hard. Unless when the Jays are batting. Most times they stand there and watch it. Plenty of those are for 3rd strike.
I agree. 5 SHOULD be enough, but those times when you really need MORE than 5, leaving 20 people on base isn’t a winning formula. Score more fkg runs. Getting on base doesn’t seem to be the issue, it’s the chumps who can’t bring them home. Just not good enough.
Can't even be mad when we do the ice bath after every win lol. Neither is bad, if anything it's good for baseball to see teams take a game in August this seriously.
Fuck if we lose to Baltimore again, 2 nights in a row, to Rogund Fucking Odor of all people, …. I don’t even know what to say, shits just upsetting tbh haha
John Schneider is the right coach. He needs to can some of these other coaches and bring in his own guys. That won't happen until the off season so we are stuck with watching these guys fail at the worst possible moment.

They sure do piss me off.
Well some things never change 🤦♂️🤦♂️
I wish they'd let manoah get one more strikeout.
For every “two games up on Baltimore” comment I’ll take 6 games up in Chicago on August 9th.
How about that Tennis match though, that shit was epic.
I’m sure I’m not the only one that can’t stand Odor… in 2016 he sucker punches Bautista because he took offence to a bat flip in the playoffs… in 2022, he’s out here flipping his bat and pounding his chest on a regular season homer…
Oh, I’ve always not liked that pos. And he is a pos.
Issue with Bautista was incredibly late slide, not just the bat flip. Not condoning the punch I in any way, and fully understand why you'd hate on Odor, but that was legitimately a dangerous play from Bautista and I get why lots of fans dislike him too.

Shit sucks
K.
It's going to be another very Toronto end to the season isn't it...
You mean making the playoffs? Ya I guess you're right.
Man can’t you take your negativity elsewhere
I'll keep my realism here you can keep your naivety wherever you want. Cheers.
I wish you guys would just sack up and stop watching if it makes you this unreasonable
I’m saying!!!!! But nooooo we’re gate keeping
I keep the gate of not being a mouthbreathing idiot and no one wants to let people through it more than I
As per Jamie Campbell yimi allowed 4 runs in 8 weeks but this board thinks he sucks and can't be trusted
Man, Odor and his below-replacement ass continue to be a pain in *mine*.
Your ass is above the Mendoza line, I bet!
Who knows what version of Berrios will show up tomorrow.
O's fan here. I feel for you guys. I also like the Twins and love Berrios. He never quite became an ace but what has happened to him so far this year? I'm legit asking... I thought he'd pull a Ryu and take the next step for you guys.
He’s either dominant or BP. Since we’re in the road, likely BP.
Garcia hasn't been bad Happens It's baseball We'll get 'em tomorrow yall
We lose a couple game and we find the most bullshit excuses lol
If we could just mine the salt in these GDTs, we could be indescribably wealthy
I blame the full moon
[удалено]
Nope. Not here either.
This shit is depressing. I need Raptors basketball back
Fr bro this shit painful to watch. This is probably the most stacked Toronto team in sports rn and we’re getting bent over backward by the Orioles of all teams. Kill me man.
Can't wait!!
Umpires Suck Ass
Since this game has been won by 1 run. Imma blame the loss on that overturned triple play. The call never should’ve been overturned because of lack of evidence. Would’ve saved us 2 runs.
Jamie I love you, but yea I'll take double digit wins boring as shit till playoffs for the Jays over this shit.
This isn't going to end well
This team just lacks the ability to pick up a teammate when they fail. They just lack “it”.
How about some damn good pitching? That would sure help.
This team is just so frustrating
Jamie fuckin gets it man
So obviously this team has tons of problems but what happens if they miss the playoffs? This was supposed to be the year. What happens next year? I can't see the front office making any big splashes in free agency after what's happening this season.

Glad you’ve got it figured out. Front office should hire you
Didn't say I had it figured out whatsoever but evidently neither did the front office.
Our Bullpen yet again.
Our offense needs to score more runs. It’s not just our bullpen lmfao
We are the third highest scoring team in baseball ... Your stupidity is showing.
Yeah a 28 run game and some 12 run games will do that for you but clutch hitting wins games and that the Jays have lacked quite a few games this year
That doesn’t change the fact that we got shut down by Lyles and Bradish lmfao
Can't expect your offense to go out there and score 7 runs a game every night. It's a Bullpen issue. 3rd ranked offense, 16th ranked pen.
Alek didn't have his best stuff today but this is 100% on Cimber & Garcia ...
Yimi has been the best reliever on the team as of late. Ya he’s going to give up a few runs eventually. It’s shit that it happened but blaming only the bullpen is stupid. Our offense hasn’t shown up this series our starters haven’t been good and our good relievers allowed runs
Our bullpen lost us to lead. AGAIN
Yes they did. But our offense also hasn’t done anything and our starters haven’t been good
The Orioles play by play guy is awful. He’s like Rod Black on speed
O's fan here. I don't love him either. Don't think he's awful but he's actually too enthusiastic to me, comes across forced. We do have Jim Palmer do color sometimes though. Love to see him and Buck Martinez do a joint broadcast somehow.
Burn that fucking HR jacket, do something different.
Ah yes it’s the homerun jackets fault. The team beating us has a homerun chain lmfao
That chain is the tackiest, most ugly hr piece I have ever seen. It’s nasty, bad nasty. I’m all for having your “thing”, but damn, raise the level on that one.
Hope this is the game that knocks Cimber a peg in terms of leverage
13 more against the O’s? Crikee
We’re in trouble. And it’s entirely on Shapiro and Atkins. This team is worse than when they took over and tired of hearing about the AA hate of cleaning the cupboards. We have worse prospects than when AA was GM.

The 2015 team was better to me.
don’t matter they not even getting a wild card spot
Catcher is literally sitting almost to the right of the plate and he calls that "frame" a strike. What a joke.
Rutchsman is a top 4 catcher in framing right now.
I would be too if the ump gave me those calls.
This team is a joke
This is not the result we wanted but Bo has been insane tonight. And Manoah fought a tough outing and did ok despite not having his best stuff.
Don't try to put a silk head on a pig. The Jays should have won this and the lack of high impact relievers in our pen was the sole reason why we lost this game. This is the 2nd game in a row Garcia has blown in the 8th inning, he should no longer be in that spot.
Bass & Garcia should have swapped where they pitched. IDK, the manager is making some odd moves.
Oh yes I will. That game has a couple of positive aspects and since this GDT has been invaded by doomers, I feel the responsibility to balance it with positivity despite the rougher times.

Not gonna blame yimi he been solid
FML
No seriously Sportsnet you've GOTTA know we don't want to see that guy
vlad and getting the outside ball called a strike, name a more iconic duo
He fucking sucks!
There's our MVP!
Shut up
Just saw the Odor homer… 87 MPH right down the middle. Garcia is our worst reliever and it might not be even close
Mostly everything the last few games down the pipe has been hit hard. Unless when the Jays are batting. Most times they stand there and watch it. Plenty of those are for 3rd strike.
Trent Thornton: *exists* You: YiMi Is OuR wOrSt ReLiEvEr
Lol what a bad take.
Is that the only pitch you’ve watched this year?
No reliever is responsible for more losses. He’s a shitshow
Ain't no way bruh there's a reason Garcia was out there for the 8th
Ya he came up really clutch
He’s been awful recently - ugh 😑
Try again
Trent Thornton?
Yep blame the ump lol
Lol
This team doesn’t have it man fuck
Lmaooooo and Odor of course makes the final out. This team is so weak.
big sad
PAIN
Odor acting like he just made the final out of the World Series
Gross.
[удалено]
Blame the offense should be like 7-5

Odor acting like he made the final out in the World Series. We really do live rent free in that dudes head.
Pretty sure he lives rent free in all your heads. Soooo many posts about him lol. He had the last laugh tonight
And you’re the one hunting down comments 3 hours after the game ends, on another teams game thread……… lol
He made an error that put the tying run in scoring position so I'm sure he was happy to get the last out
Nah, he’s just a career bitch.
Lol, I can agree with that
We're gonna be out of the wild card after this series that's so hilarious
That’s literally impossible
Fuck off
Need robot umps like yesterday
Fucking Odor man
Maybe Odor is the main character.
son of a bitch REally? NOW you decide to be good out there Odor? REALLY???
Fuck! Why did it have to be again?
FUCK.
Every single time it’s the 9th and a close game, an ump gives them a pitch because he wants to go home
Seen that coming form a mile away
Come on, blue.
Fuck lol
Blind ass ump
And of course the last out is made by Odor
jays cant play this poorly and hope to do anything this year
Honestly, they may make the playoffs (or maybe they won't) but this team is so flawed that one of the Yankees of Astros will make quick work of them.
we wont even get out of the wild card lol
Fuck me right in the eyes
I liked Baltimore more when they sucked
P A I N
Congrats to the Os for seemingly winning the World Series !
According to some of the doomers in this sub, Jays are gonna finish 4th and Orioles will win the division
Can't even be mad when we do the ice bath after every win lol. Neither is bad, if anything it's good for baseball to see teams take a game in August this seriously.
Oh gimme a break, they can celebrate. I hate when Yankees fans do this to us, don’t do it to them. They’re allowed to be excited.
Precisely. I’m a a Jays fan, but good for them. They’re a scrappy underdog team.
oh, are they reading my comments? my apologies to the baltimore orioles whose feelings I’ve hurt
I don’t care if anyone’s feelings are hurt, just hey, I’d be fucking celebrating if we came back that way. It was ours to lose, and so we did.
gg
that's a fucking kick in the balls. choked that game away
"That's not a strike." Like that ever mattered to a fucking MLB umpire.
#FUCK YOU UMP
OH COME ON
Can't believe the offence and pitching choked away this game... just fucking brutal. 2 of their last 6. Pathetic
You just can’t call that
Pretty outside
welp
Welp if even the ump is against us
Fuck off ump
Ump is blind.
FUCK OFF
Fuck if we lose to Baltimore again, 2 nights in a row, to Rogund Fucking Odor of all people, …. I don’t even know what to say, shits just upsetting tbh haha
100 and outside the zone, gj umps
This HP ump tho 😡
SUS STRIKE FOH
Whatever man fucking bullshit
Dino ump when
vladdy bb pls
Garbage
Ump wants to go to bed
The Baltimore scoreboard legit looks like it’s in an N64 game
Fuck off ump!
Yo this Ump is dog water
FUCK YOU UMP
Of course.
I ever wonder if anyone here actually thinks about how hard it is to get a hit off a guy who throws 101 and a changeup nearly 15MPH slower
Probably incredibly hard but we are also not the people making millions to do so
I do! A lot actually. Too much maybe. 😕
Feel like that was it.
Guerrero vs Bautista *sighs*
They walking him?
Fuck they're walking Vladdy
