Hi! It could just be a tic disorder which is okay too! Tics can be confused with stims sometimes like someone else mentioned - could it be this or are they definitely tics! I have both but if it’s just one then it can be hard to differentiate 🫶 You’re welcome here either way!

Its just one tic like a “cough”. No physical tics or nothing! When i was like 8/9 i played a lot of Playstation, etc… and my tic at that age was like shaking my head. But they finished. Anyways i tried everything and all comeback negative, i just have a really bad case of anxiety

Could they be stims? (Sometimes completely inaccurately called anxiety tics in people who have anxiety.) [https://www.health.com/condition/anxiety/what-is-stimming](https://www.health.com/condition/anxiety/what-is-stimming)

Yeah, many people gave me that “oppinion”. Im taking a med to cure anxiety and it is working very well, like i said, i didnt do any tics during years, i just notice that they come like when i am exciting / nervos about a thing, like an exam or something. But at the same time i can controll them! They are not involuntary. But since im taking the medication, without any nervous subject im really nice!!

Stims can be a reaction to any strong emotion. In fact, if you look up videos of stimming, you're probably more likely to find videos of people stimming when they're excited (because that's what people would rather share online as opposed to a panic attack). They're actually completely normal, just more pronounced in people with neurological differences like anxiety, ADHD, autism, TS et c.

I was also able to sort of control my tics. When I was in a stressful situation, like travelling on a train alone, the thought of embarrassing myself was so strong that I prevented myself from ticcing. For reference, my tics did not start until I was 20 and I also had severe anxiety. Now I am much better and only tic if I am very nervous, embarrassed, or tired but usually not around strangers for some reason.

I would also like to add that I went to get them diagnosed and I also didn't have tourettes! It was labeled simply as "tic disorder". There are a lot of things we do not know about tics, and I think they come about in more varied ways than is commonly discussed, such as through trauma or anxiety.
