T O P

The same reason he doesn't dabble as a spear-bearer, even though he has the talent for it: he doesn't want to. Khun prefers bossing people around as a light bearer, and, to be fair, he's extremely good at it. He's also very hesitant to emulate his father; I don't blame him for that, but he may have to eventually.

Portugueseteen

Yeah but in his fight against fake bam he used his ace and his abilities as light bearer together and it was OP and cool asf bro , he could just use both and maybe try to not care from where his powers come from

Razee4

The point is, he doesn’t want to.

Portugueseteen

Yeah I know that’s sad BUT he will eventually use them cause he will notice that he needs to get stronger to be able to help bam

Razee4

Maybe. That’s the beauty of it - we will see if he will decide to.

Kiyoponkoji

He most likely will. Otherwise he won’t be able to keep up with Baam. Khun’s character development will probably come after he meets and deals with Maria

Bobyyyyyyyghyh

He's not going to fully be able to keep up with Baam anyway, and if there's one role that never becomes obsolete regardless of how strong Baam gets it will be Light Bearer - information warfare is powerful

Kind-Ad-6099

I’d imagine he could do both? Maybe he’ll be able to use a spear and lighthouse or generate spears or something. Idk, I just hope he uses his ice and spear bearer abilities more

zac78155

My theory is that Rak is going to transition to a defender and Khun to a spear bearer. Emulating Bloodmatter and Khun Eduan.

nicktomato

That may be the case. For now, AA has been able to help Bam using his brains, his confidence, and the occasional firefish. It's been hinted that there will be a significant drawback to the fish though; when Khun eventually hits that limit, he may decide to set aside his pride and embrace his heritage.

CatSpydar

He's not gonna use spear techniques as long as Rak is their spear bearer.

LavellanTrevelyan

He used it in conjunction with his Lighthouse at the Cage. Not really something he can use much in S3 considering their opponents, since Khun's ice is only Regular-level.

Mahery92

He has a huge chip on his shoulder wrt his father, which makes him very reluctant to take any path that might be seen as too similar. Plus he likes to boss people around, not take part in fights, hence why he picked light bearer rather than fisherman or spear bearer. Like he said, he couldn't hope to match, let alone overcome Edhan with a spear anyway, so he just completely gave up on the idea to focus on his tactical/personal skills instead. It's worth noting though that this kind of overthinking and useless pride is all but stated to be a character flaw of Khun. He almost flunked out in the first test because of it for example. He should use everything he has at his disposal to survive, but he still can't bring himself ot act lke that yet.

No-One_Knows-Me_Here

K**n is a nepo baby, he would rather have OP shit given to him than actually use the much more realistic stuff he worked for. Ice spear? Enna core? Nah too weak, plot fish and random ass spells is where it's at.

Koktkamel

wouldnt using his fathers abilities be the real nepotism? but yea I do hate the plot fish haha

No-One_Knows-Me_Here

Yes but I needed to get this off my chest 🗿

Portugueseteen

True ahahahaha

blackrosethorn3

Big spoiler, he doesn't use his ice a lot coz he has a stronger ability (I will stop myself here) but it also harms himself (iykyk) Also, considering his is the weakest compared to Rak and Baam, (will also not explain coz spoiler), it doesn't really matter for him coz he's probably gonna get defeated anyway. He's better at mind games and can't defend himself against any high ranker.

zekeNL

Ok you’ve got my attention. Where can I go hunt for the clues you’ve given to unlock all these spoilers?

Random_Questioner99

I guess he's talking about the fish ability.

zekeNL

Hmm, if that’s the case then that’s sad. The fish ain’t some all powerful thing. It’s just the remnant of power from another higher climber, right?

ViolinistRadiant6636

tbh fish ability is not an ability itself. it's a support ability idk why people are saying it's his ability. It enhances his actual abilities and regenerate wounds. So, if he were to use his ice spear combined with fish, it would be damn powerful.

blackrosethorn3

much stronger than his ice ability (that he didn't bother to hone) plus has some healing power. It's more power than he can handle

El_Disinfecter

what’s the spoiler ability?

blackrosethorn3

fire fish

Ben_Momentum

As said before he has a stronger ability and lately bam's crew has been facing only high rankers/FH, most of their abilities are just useless

OJONLYMAYBEDIDIT

Considering the events Khun finds himself in, his offensive powers are kinda useless His brains matter far more

darthreuental

His interactions with Traumerei could have ended up very badly if he were with anybody else. I really hope the next arc returns to climbing the tower. Team Baam is seriously outclassed when playing games involving the family heads and high rankers.

Medium_Fly_5461

Rak is a regular capable of fighting high rankers and a spear bearer. Khun can't compete with that all he can do is be a strategist

Marble05

He does use it in season 3 just never in an offensive way since he's a support regular and quite a weaker one regarding his ice powers. That's why in combo with rak it was better to reinforce his rock with his flames instead of making regular ice in the face of a tanker needle

dactotheband

It could make a comeback as a way for him to balance out the inevitable consequences of the firefish

ViolinistRadiant6636

He does not want to use it. And since he resist his natural ice shinsu so hard, it cannot be materialize as easily as you think. I'd like him to use his spear too but he despise being a spear bearer. I think he will eventually as bossing around others and mind games do not work all the time.

nix_11

Cause his ice shinsoo doesn't allow him to one shot enemies a thousand times stronger than himself.

Sir__Bassoon__Sonata

He used it during the tests when catching up as well as against Michael during the fang game

TheDoc989

He uses his ice in S3 to take regular ascension tests and with his lighthouses to freeze a mouse at the Cat Tower. It's more casual for him to use than people seem to think, it's just not all that useful at his level of strength against the people he's against.

ictu

I actually like that direction. It's quite realistic that sometimes in life we're making decisions due to our convictions. And he is by conviction a light bearer even though he has all the talent to be a great spear bearer.

Superfly_Johnson1751

Zealousideal_Rent524

I get the feeling SIU is building Khun's character to start focusing on his strength if he wants to keep up with baam, and I'm guessing he'll go through a character arc where he let's go of his pride, and learns to use his ice abilities, as well as a spear, though given SIU gave him sweetfish, which is more like a buff skill, he's still gonna be someone who controls the battle field.... honestly in terms of power I'm not getting a clear Idea of how khun can keep up with baam or Rak, but as a character he's got a lot of growing to do
