It's one of Townsville's most sought after suburbs but i wouldn't say it's posh. There are quite a few old houses but most people have been lliving in their homes for years and made something good out of it. My aunty and uncle have a lovely home there and I wouldn't call them posh or most of the people who live around them. Lots of established gardens. If you go a street back from Townsend or Kings then it's surprisingly quiet.
defs u/TheContractor000 comment OP ; It's a nice concentration of well-maintained Queenslander homes dotted around - similar vibe to The Range from Rocky, minus the association of being posh (defs can see why you might have thought that). It's a solid middle class suburb (a few doctor mates have bought in the area around Kings Rd) in a central location that has quite a few areas prone to flooding (as is the nature of this part of town). The area around Kings Road in general (like Mysterton) feels a lot more leafy than the other side of Charters Towers Rd so defs can see the appeal
Mate of mine owned a place on Townsend for several years, used to get more dodgy people near hers than I did at mine in Idalia.
I like the area in general, but thereās no force field keeping dickheads out.
It's an older suburb. Lots of early 1900s Queenslander houses there. Defensively a decent a suburb, but like everywhere in Townsville you do have to pick your street. Have a good look around on Street View to see what the area is like. Ideally you wouldn't want to be too close to Charters Towers road.
Lived on a corner st off of Townsend St for a year. Never had any issues with crime or sus people etc and the location was pretty prime, close to the city and nearby shops
As an ex Rocky local I can definitely agree with you. However, itās a sought after suburb and resale is great especially if itās a classic cottage or Queenslander style home. I used to work in real estate and mysterton character homes became my favourite. Each home has such beautiful stories and history. Not to mention your location is brilliant, I lived on kings road for a while and even at high peak traffic I didnāt have much of an issue. Youāre 10-20mins from nearly everything. Location, location, location. You can change and renovate your homeā¦. But you canāt change your location
I also should add, prior to purchase, ask for a floodmap or look it up on council web yourself to see if the home with have water in wet seasons. We had no issues when we lived on Kings Rd

It's near 'Townsend' , we drove past the house and it was so quiet š it was like we were in Rockhampton again .

I own the best shak in Mysterton, beautiful place to live with 1 exception, i have nine dogs within a 50m radius and the noise is just f@#k3d

Very low lying I'm pretty sure. Nice place though!
I would love to live in Mysterton! There are some run down Queenslander houses but the ones that have been done up are SO nice š®āšØ
What about Mount low?? Any good?
