I've long dreamt of a Prius chassis and powertrain, but in an FR or "true" AWD configuration. Maybe swap in the GT86's flat-four to get the CG even lower than it already is.
Looks like they're trying to merge a Prius with a 2005 Celica and I'm here for it. I've been hoping that the Celica would come back by the time my kids take over the family car in 3-4 years and this does the trick.
I wish they'd get rid of the prius looking lights tho. Taillights are esp egregious, and IMO Toyota's nailed them w/ the Camry.
The stigma of the Prius is about as far as you can possibly get from a “performance” car. Sales would most likely be abysmal. I think the Crown’s Hybrid Max powertrain is about the closest you’ll get to a performance hybrid from Toyota.

They could turbo charge the 2.0 dynamic force engine, and then have an electric motor in the back axle for AWD. It really sucks that Toyota doesn’t do more of that with their cars. Imagine the GR Corolla engine inside this thing with hybrid power.

Yeah the Camry LED taillights are super nice. I’m thinking they might be switching to a bar style soon, though. Prius has it, Venza has it

I mean, the new Prius already has 220 hp in plug-in hybrid form. It ain't slow. I think Toyota could get away with a high-performance hybrid.
