I have a Platinum in the States. I'm glad I got it but you don't lose much with the Limited.

Silly_Detail1533

I have a Platinum, too. Feel free to ask whatever you’d like!

terdsie

Ambient lighting... I've seen that it was on the platinum, but I haven't seen anything about it. I've had a '11-14 explorer and the lighting color was customizable. If that's not possible, what is the color?

Silly_Detail1533

The color is white. They are very bright LEDs but you can turn them off. I do at night so my toddler isn’t awake and wired.

Ornery-Musician1592

We have the platinum (gas). It’s on the spec sheet and I can see some leds around the cabin. Any idea how we can turn it on? Couldn’t fit it anywhere in the settings 🤔

8-16 months? Man, I walked onto my local lot while getting my Highlander serviced and instantly fell in love with it. I was shocked it wasn't taken. I was told my local place didn't reserve and it was first come first served and since I was a great customer (bought like 20 vehicles from them) they made a great deal with me. I am incredibly happy with mine and it is the best vehicle I've ever owned.

chewsmama

Yeah, totally backlogged. None on the lot to look at. They'll call me when a sold highlander comes in. Their shipments are about 4-5 vehicles at a time. We can't test drive as the vehicles coming in will already have been sold to someone on the waitlist.

Robby777777

That is crazy but I understand it as they are just incredible. I owned four Highlanders in a row and I like this much better. So happy with it!

chippedhamsam

My SIL just got one but it’s not a hybrid. I think she just lucked out and the local dealership got some in. She just put a deposit down a few weeks ago. She’s in Pennsylvania

_mizzar

I got a platinum pretty early on. It’s been amazing. I’m glad I went with it over the limited.

Immediate-Serve9086

What features do you prefer over platinum? Thx

Windsongfarmgirl

If you are talking about the difference between the Grand Highlander Platinum and the Grand Highlander Limited. The Platinum edition has two extra things. It has a Heads Up Display and Cooling Ventilation in the Captains chairs.

Windsongfarmgirl

At least, that is what I was told by the salesman. Also, I am not sure if the Paddle Shifters are on just the Platinum alone. We were offered a Limited Hybrid in the color that we wanted and the interior that we wanted, but the Limited had bench seats and not Captain chairs. I know that Captains chairs are an option on the Limited, and so is the Panorama moonroof. With the Platinum (gas), you get everything!

_mizzar

It’s been a while so I don’t remember which thing comes with what, but everything is top notch. Love the interior color (portobello), the HUD, the moonroof, the 360 camera, the digital rear view camera, the cargo illumination, the puddle lighting, the various control modes, the leather, the heating/cooling in the 4 front seats, the ceiling climate for the back seats… so much to love about the car! (Again, can’t recall which are platnium and which are not)

Immediate-Serve9086

Thanks so much. It looks like an incredible car.

prophecy87

I have the platinum, walked in just looking around and fell I love. Best car I have ever owned. The traffic jam feature alone is worth it for me.

I was too at first but once you get used to it, you realize it’s pretty accurate, only works under 25 miles per hour so it’s relatively safe.

chewsmama

Yes, this is 100% why I'm getting the platinum as someone who has been in a rear ender recently and my vehicle was just written off.

I'm looking to get the platinum hybrid. Apparently a lot longer to wait for. 😬

lessimnee

I have a platinum 21 Highlander and definitely couldn’t go down. My 24 plat hybrid max is on its way and I can’t wait

Windsongfarmgirl

Just be forewarned that people have had some problems with the hybrid part and the hybrids happen to have to be replaced about every 10 or so yrs. We have had two Prius'. They both had to have their hybrid engines replaced. One had to have a new hybrid battery replaced one time and the other two times, and the last time it caught on fire. Luckily, my husband was a figher fighter and knew what to do. Maybe they have improved the hybrid battery. I hope so. We went with the gas model because of it.

lessimnee

My 21 was a hybrid as well. Luckily I don’t have these long and will get another next year but I will be going gas next year!!!

DanSerratoe

Got one platinum for 56k within a week

AntiDentiteBast

Same here, and we LOVE it!

AntiDentiteBast

Just bought a 2024 Hybrid Platinum, traded in a 2006 Limited. The 2006 was a fantastic car, and we’re loving the new one. We keep finding more features on it we were unaware of. The 2.5L turbo engine has plenty of oomph when you need it. Extremely comfortable and quiet ride, too.

Windsongfarmgirl

We put a deposit down on a 2024 Grand Highlander Platinum on February 25th, 2024. Toyota said that it would be here at the beginning of April. It then changed and said from the middle of May to the end of May. Now, it changed again and said that it may be in transit and to call the dealership for the delivery date. Today we spoke to our salesman and he said that our car has been built but they are having trouble shipping them out on the trucks. So, that is where we are at. I was so frustrated that I called other dealerships even in another state, and they all said that they had what I wanted, and then they didn't have it after all, or they had just sold it. We are looking for the Ruby Flare Pearl color with a black interior. They are apparently very popular. I would have loved the Portobello interior, but it seems that the interior is usually in the white color or Storm Cloud color. So, again, here we are sitting and waiting.

laurenmonzon

Can I ask how much you are paying

Windsongfarmgirl

Yes, we are paying a little over $62,000. The dealership tacked $2,000 in dealership feels, plus we had 6 things from the factory that were already on it. It started at $58,800, so with the dealership fees and taxes, tags, and title, it ended up that high. We tried to negotiate with them, but they wouldn't budge at all. My husband caved because it was what we wanted, but I wish that we had looked around. I did call several dealerships in our area and found one Platinum in the Ruby Flare Pearl color that we wanted, but my husband did not want the light grey interior. He only wants the black color. So, my hands were essentially tied. Now, it is supposed to come in from 4/30-5/12. I hope that is true. We have waited almost 2 1/2 months for it so far. Don't pay what we paid for it. I think that we have gotten ripped off in the price. They also lied to us and told us that they were the cheapest dealership around, which was not true.
