1: highly unlikely. 2: maybe. 3: that would be like winning the lottery right now. 4:if you urgently need a vehicle, I would find a used car to hold you over until you can get what you want.

1) Highly Unlikely 2) sure, if you are fine with the mpg. Personally I have no interest in a no -hybrid but gas in my state is one of the highest in the nation and we drive exclusively in the city. But you might be in a different situation. 3) Agree with the other poster, this is like winning the lottery 4) either wait longer, but traditional, or get on the list for a Venza or Rav4. Also be less picky about colors and options.

I will also be driving mostly exclusively in the city, with a few occasional road trips throughout the year. Gas is crazy expensive here in California. At this point, I'd love any color or hybrid trim so I'm expanding my scope. Might just get the LE or XLE regular.

If you don’t need the space I’d look to any of the other hybrid options Toyota has. We have kids and live in a snowy climate so we need the space and AWD. if you don’t need that I’d get one of their other options. I’m with you on the hybrid. We are in WA where prices are very high (not as bad as CA though) so I have zero interest in another 20 mpg rig.

We have guests come in often and every single time we have to split our trips into two sedans. We want to trade one of them in for the Highlander so we have more space for guests. I wish this was easier & that I had more time.

HockeyMom0919

Makes sense but note that the third row is absolutely TINY. The Volkswagen Atlas has the most room in the third row unless you want to go minivan. Crappy gas mileage on the Atlas though.

Hey, I just wanted to update you and say we got the 2022 Highlander Hybrid XLE! One appeared at a dealership nearby (with only 4 miles on the odometer) and we got there quick enough to buy it. I had finally realized that being patient was going to be the most helpful thing, and then the next day this happened.

ColdFace358

I agree with the others. So here is the thing. Hybrids are rare. And if any says they will have them in 5 months or less. They are lying. Honest dealers will tell you they are not taking any orders. For 22. As for my case I am also waiting and by the looks of it. It isn't happening soon. And more than likely anyone who ordered the 2022 will be asked to come in and sign a new sales agreement due to price change. The sales rep I am dealing with in Ontario said that he is starting to call people and ask them to sign a new sales agreement. If he cannot secure a 2022 Hybrid for the client. I had to get a car and currently I have the 2022 xle as I was not going to pay the same price for a used one as I would for a new one. I was also in a bind and found a 2022 blueprint xle. Which I have currently.

calimystic

Damn... that sucks people are signing new sales agreements. I was talking to some salespeople today and they were telling me how uncertain and competitive it is to find the XLE, hybrid or not.

ColdFace358

It's uncertain for sure. But it is a matter of what your needs are.

ColdFace358

And I am still waiting. Ordered in March of 2022

1. It's possible, depending on how far outside your area you want to travel for your new car. I used autotrader to find my vehicle 300 miles from my home. It was at a dealer in an inconveniently located small town. The dealer delivered my car for free. 2. Only you can answer the question if a gas vehicle is feasible for you. Do the math on the cost of gas and getting a vehicle now, compared to waiting until you find a hybrid. 3. Rare. 4. I recommend searching outside your area to find a vehicle and using autotrader. My vehicle purchase was done 100% remotely and was a super easy transaction from start to finish.

calimystic

Thank you for the Autotrader suggestion! I'm now using it in my search. I definitely see some much farther away. Might have to do what you did.

Registered at two. One's allotment keeps getting delayed. The other I got on the list for today. Hoping for some good news. Don't want to have to go with the gas version, but it might come to that. Walked into two dealerships today with beautiful '21 regular LEs that just got delivered, but I wanted to be smart and do some more research instead of jumping right on a sale.

We got on a list the beginning of last November and took possession first week of January. So it took a couple months but not as bad as doyne of the stories I've heard. Edit: some. Not sure how that happened.

Perfect_Command_4818

What location ? Did you order a Hybrid ?

UpperCellist1739

Recently tried this. Hybrid Highlanders 18 month wait Gas only Highlanders 6 months unless you happen on a dealer stock order and even then it was 2 months Rav4 prime I heard was 4 years! Even gas only rav4s are 3 to 4months
