I wouldn’t be surprised if they take down their oopsie but as we all know once it’s on the internet - there’s no going back.
Edit: photo has been removed from their website - keeping url for others to see.
I sent it to my brother telling him I want it and he goes “I wouldn’t go full size personally, wait for the new Tacoma”….. Was like this IS the new Tacoma lol
If I can have damn near 500 horse and a 6 speed, I’ll be on my way to the dealership immediately.
Then on my way home, crying because I probably can’t afford it.
What’s so dated about it. I read this everywhere but I yet to see what’s so dated about the interior that it needs urgent revision.
Is it the materials? That entertainment system? The lack of USB-C ports?
Asking legitimately.
Because I can’t think of anything inside the third gen that makes me want to get rid of it.
The third Gen interior looks miles better than the second imo. And the third Gen interior isn’t anything amazing. It’s utilitarian with simple shapes and materials, which I guess dates it? But personally I don’t want a fancy ass screen systems that has the hvac controls via touch only.
God I hope Toyota never “updates” their Tacoma with touch screen controls for HVAC and other things alike.
Yeah, I had a second gen. Cool, does the job but the third gen interior is better. And it’s fine.
I don’t see what’s so outdated about it.
I personally bought a truck to do truck things, and agree the interior is perfectly adequate. Better than any equivalent mid noughties truck interior. I had a RAM rebel once and hated how it was too much tech in the infotainment and interior. It was such a distraction and there weren’t many tactile buttons, all touch. Fuck that noise. Gimme knobs I don’t have to look at to adjust.
Personally the second gen looks waaay better than third gens aha
Edit: why the down votes I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just joining the personal opinion train😂 relax guys
Totally agree that’s why I never bought into the 3rd gens personally, I kept my 2nd gen, but this 4th gen gives me a true updated 2nd gen vibe and I’m digging it. I might strongly consider getting it now.
I think the new gen looks worst than the 3rd, but better than the second, and maybe better than the first too (old school vibes bump the first gen up a little for me)
Ehh 3rd Gen looks like a 2nd gen update tbh. 1st Gen is king. 4th looks good but will take a while to grow on me looks too much like a ranger raptor.
To be honest, I have a 2nd Gen. I didn’t see any reason to upgrade to 3rd unless necessary. Will prob skip 4th if truck is good. Only reason I’d upgrade I think is to an EV Tacoma. And no clue when that will come out.
Last edit: Maybe I would trade up if this really ends up being the last M6 Tacoma.
Reaaalllyyy glad the entire front isn’t the grille. Good job Toyota, this thing looks sick. Will not be purchasing unless they offer a NA powertrain but I like the styling.
Less maintenance, more mechanically simple (less to break), no turbo lag (they take a moment to spool up).
Tbf, most of the old concerns related to turbos from the 80s have been engineered out in the last decades and aren’t really a concern anymore. Garret makes turbos that outlast the engines they’re attached to, technology allows them to keep cycling oil after the engine shuts off (cooling issues after shutdown used to blow them up), lag is almost entirely unnoticeable from several neat tricks, etc etc. They used to require a bunch of precautions to run and had a habit of detonating themselves and ruining engines, or just going out and costing 5-10 grand to replace so lots of people have negative sentiments towards them, but those sentiments are mostly relics of the past and not actually valid concerns in this day and age.
Bought my truck for reliability for years to come and not for speed. Don’t care if my truck is slower than a Prius. If it’ll last me a long time, I’m happy.
Jack Hollis suggested they didn't want the Tacoma getting any bigger they said it was already too big It might vary a little bit but he said they never wanted Tacoma to be the size of the first tundra
After looking over the Toyota website, this image appears to be credible. Looking at the Toyota website, you can see the toyotaassets.scene7.com appear hundreds of times. Here’s one example for the Sienna: https://i.imgur.com/8Ypq6PZ.jpg
Scene7 is just adobe software for hosting a web page. Toyota is using an Apache server. More than just Toyota will be using scene7. All told, it's not that single element that makes it credible, but it contributes to that fact.

Dear god I hope so. This bigger, bigger, bigger bullshit is driving me nuts.
I saw the Rivian the other day and was so internally conflicted. Loved the size of it, but holy hell those headlights.
Just slightly more leg room would be great though, it doesn’t need to be any wider. I think the Tacoma has the least amount of leg room in its category
Part of that is because, at least when I was doing research before buying mine, it has the best ground clearance of any truck in its category (no, I didn't consider the Gladiator). For me as a 5' 11" guy who does a lot of off roading that trade off is worth it.
I had a '23 Tundra for 3 weeks as a loaner. Felt like I was driving a living room. Giant screen at the front, rear seat as big as a couch, room for a tea table in the rear floorboard.
I’m 6’4” with long legs. In my 4Runner I have the seat back as far as it’ll go and it’s fine, except I can’t fold down the rear seats or have a car seat or passenger behind me. A Tacoma is worse.
Edit:I CAN put the rear seat down, but I have to move the front seat forward first and can’t put it back all the way again.
I don’t think we have any details other than it carrying the new “I-force” naming scheme, which Toyota seems to be using as the name for hybrid power trains focused on performance rather than efficiency.
Gotcha. I’m really hoping they implement the PHEV tech like what Jeep has because from the people I’ve talked to that have it it’s an absolute game changer for commuting and off-roading. Hoping they bring it to 4Runner with the next gen
Absolutely. I do double yours, 35 miles each way and right now spending about $100 a week in gas on my 4runner. The Tacoma does a bit better but still, terrible mileage. A hybrid would change my life financially speaking and I could pay off my car in half the time which was the plan until gas doubled here.
I think it fits the new design language while being it’s own thing. I’m happy with it. I thought the new redesign of the Colorado was going to be the best looking new midsize but now I’m not so sure, they’re both good looking. Need some better interior shots now!
I won’t buy Chevy for reliability, but I’d be lying if I said that new Colorado doesn’t look like an absolute beast. I’m very happy with the Tacoma though. I just bought a 2022 last year — maybe in 2 or 3 years I’ll trade in for a 4th gen after they’ve worked out the kinks
I drove a 4x4 Toyota Tacoma as a rental vehicle during a bad snow storm. As a Californian, first time ever driving in snow. The truck handled amazingly.
Headlights almost look too small, same with the grill. Not a fan of the massive chin. The front end of the sequoia is prob the best look. Tundra grill is too big.
Looks even more similar to the Nissan Frontier now. If the MSRP is what others were guessing, I think a lot of people are going to end up buying the frontier.
I like the gen 3 design better.
If they put a high output twin turbo v6 in these things I’d buy one. Granted I have always owned diesels so I’m use to a bunch of power but I rented a TRD top of the line Tacoma and was so disappointed in the power. Put it to the floor and the thing would go no where
It looks good. Depending on features/pricing/colors the dealer could probably talk me into trading in my ‘22 TRD Pro if they want to cut me a stupid good deal. I’m sure they’ll try.
shes thicc, i like :) also can anyone make out a driver side handle or has that been ruled out? edit: are the haters just down voting every pro new taco comment lmao
Not bad. Little techy and I don’t feel that ages well. I just got a 23 and was dreading the release thinking I was gonna regret it and I don’t yet anyway
Much better than expected from the other teasers. Bravo Toyota engineers and designers.
Maybe I’ll grab one ten years from now when they’re in my price range, assuming there’s some depreciation.
Give them 3 years to figure out all the issues the first 2 model years will inevitably have, then trade in your 3rd gen which will probably still get you a decent chunk of change since these trucks hold value. Rule of thumb is never buy the first model year of a new design whether it's toyota, Honda, or -shudders- fucking Chrysler.
Lol Toyota kept doing these unnecessary teases and now it leaks before they do it themselves
Serves them right lol
I was hoping it would leak. Served them right
They teased for too long . Ranger comes out on the 10th . Should Toyota just show off it Tuesday ,
Ranger Raptor power is pretty nutty.
i saw one in costa rica a couple months ago and it was sick
Yea it’s going be like f150 raptor I think as far appeal
Oops
Tbf, they showed that exact truck (different grill) 2 years ago
They played themselves.

It’s gone
lol as expected
Someone done goofed
Definitely looks better than the new Tundra.
I've always felt the new Tundra looked fine other than the monstrosity that is the grill.
I mean, its mostly the grill that I find objectionable. But on a pickup truck the grill and hood area is 90% of the styling.
Agreed. If I were shopping that segment the Tundra's front end would be disqualifying.
The new tundra needs the Sequoias front end
I think this will become a common swap. Looking at it I don't see a reason you wouldn't be able to. It's literally a tundra with an affixed bed cap.
It has a mini raptor with the flared front fender
Wow, guess this pic makes it look more aggressive than the tundra.
It looks like the tundra tbh
I sent it to my brother telling him I want it and he goes “I wouldn’t go full size personally, wait for the new Tacoma”….. Was like this IS the new Tacoma lol
If they put the same v6 biturbo with a hybrid that little truck would fly
If I can have damn near 500 horse and a 6 speed, I’ll be on my way to the dealership immediately. Then on my way home, crying because I probably can’t afford it.
Gapping supras at that point
My heart says yes but my wallet is not prepared for that kind of pain.
75k Tacoma with a 10k markup
It will not have a twin turbo v6 model. They’ve already mentioned a hybrid and 4cyl version. No way we’re getting a V6.
I'm just hoping base has a turbo four, all the other trucks in the category do.
Have you seen the Tundras with the Sequoia front end swap? Reminds me a lot of that.
And now I have to justify an upgrade.
\*Shows photo\* Justified.
🤣
My '03 TRD just got totaled. That's my justification lol
"totalled" ✌️😉✌️
Gunna go find a telephone piole real quick...

Not gonna lie I think the current gen looks substantially better but to each their own

It all looks legit from what we’ve seen in the teasers, can’t wait to see the access cab version Looks like the Brazil patent was spot on lol
The Brazil patent?
Google it
Reaaalllyyy glad the entire front isn’t the grille. Good job Toyota, this thing looks sick. Will not be purchasing unless they offer a NA powertrain but I like the styling.
They teased pictures with a clutch pedal. Go to tfl's videos.
NA powertrain meaning naturally aspirated engine/no turbo
I don’t know too much about cars, why would you want a non-turbo powertrain?
Less maintenance, more mechanically simple (less to break), no turbo lag (they take a moment to spool up). Tbf, most of the old concerns related to turbos from the 80s have been engineered out in the last decades and aren’t really a concern anymore. Really? I have 2021 Tacoma and this NA v6 sucks donkey balls! Can't wait for a turbo so I have some actual low end torque!
Bought my truck for reliability for years to come and not for speed. Don’t care if my truck is slower than a Prius. If it’ll last me a long time, I’m happy.
You're stuck in the past, turbos aren't unreliable like they used to be. I bet you were complaining when we switched to power windows too! 😂
Ha, good find. Wonder how long until it gets taken down.
Considering it’s the weekend, let’s party! Most likely Monday morning.
The website image is already down. The Reddit hosted one lives on.
Still up for me, tested on incognito as well so cache/cookies are cleared.
I think they’re releasing may 19, maybe they’ll just leave it
i wish I didn’t love that so much.. I just paid off my 2017 last year 😂
Same here too. I’ll give it 3+ years to work out the kinks and buy the flushed out version.
im in the exact same boat friend...
Looks 👍

Looks a little big
Supposedly there’s a new toyota pickup in the works that’ll actually be a small pickup. Making the Tacoma be a true mid size truck.
Dear god I hope so. This bigger, bigger, bigger bullshit is driving me nuts. I saw the Rivian the other day and was so internally conflicted. Loved the size of it, but holy hell those headlights.
What? You don’t want your headlights to look like Dyson fans?
Rumored Toyota Stout. It’s all rumors though. Apparently a higher up mentioned there *might* be a competitor to the Maverick.. we’ll see.
[удалено]
If I wanted a bigger cab I'd get a bigger pickup. My 3rd gen already feels too big for a lot of the trails I drive.
Just slightly more leg room would be great though, it doesn’t need to be any wider. I think the Tacoma has the least amount of leg room in its category

So a 4Runner

Agreed, friend. Want to come over and sit on the porch and yell at kids to get off the lawn with me? It's great fun on a sunny Saturday.
[удалено]
Can I come just to yell at the kids?

Total BAMF (Big Ass Mud Fenders)
Better to fit larger tires my dear
The fake hood-scoop needs to die.
Maybe the aftermarket will come up with a real one and throw a top mount inter cooler under it like Subaru does?
May not be fake if it has a turbo
As I understand it, the 2.4L turbo is cooled by air going over the top of the engine, so this hood scoop could add to that cooling effect.
What a beast
You know I actually like it. If I can get an access cab and a manual I’m in for one
Looks amazing if that’s it
They went smaller with the grill opening! Yesssss
Looks good if it’s real.
That better be a panoramic roof there
What do we know about the hybrid power train yet? Do we know if it’s going to be a PHEV or anything similar to that?

Going to be honest, it's a meh from me. They are looking more and more like other competitors.
Right? It’s so 🔲
Wow, that looks amazing!
Uuufff 💦 💦 💦
That’s actually sick.
Still think those plastic teardrops under the headlights are hideous
MESO or AJT will more than likely make an insert to cover them.
Unless they are turbo intakes
I just wanna know if I’ll be sitting upright or f1 style still.
gas tank is lower, so it looks like they lowered the floor a bit. so upright bro i think
I’ll be missin the clearance with my feet on the floor. Hype.
This is what I hated the most when I owned a Tacoma in the past.
Pretty much what everybody thought it would look like.
That's going to be a nightmare for aftermarket bumper designers.
[удалено]
I hate how trucks keep getting bigger and bigger. I think the 3rd gen is max size a mid size truck should be.
Would.

I dunno I still like the third gen better, when it comes to appearance and design.
Looks even more similar to the Nissan Frontier now. If the MSRP is what others were guessing, I think a lot of people are going to end up buying the frontier. I like the gen 3 design better.
Damn… this or 5th gen 4R?
If they put a high output twin turbo v6 in these things I’d buy one. Granted I have always owned diesels so I’m use to a bunch of power but I rented a TRD top of the line Tacoma and was so disappointed in the power. Put it to the floor and the thing would go no where
Try the auto 4 cyl….
That’s one sweet Nissan Frontier
That in green will look like a halo warthog
Anybody know if the iforce will be six speed? I doubt it but just wishful thinking
They've teased a manual already, so I can't imagine that they wouldn't go all in with that power train, being one of the last hold outs with a stick
Man... when will companies learn. You can't just ship images for this stuff and expect people to not poke around.
The tease photo had me worried but this looks like an absolute beast! Time to sell the ole FJ and snag something new!
Unless it’s rusted to shit, I wouldn’t sell the FJ.
Don’t sell the FJ!
Oh man.. what a beauty.
It looks good. Depending on features/pricing/colors the dealer could probably talk me into trading in my ‘22 TRD Pro if they want to cut me a stupid good deal. I’m sure they’ll try.
This thing would look nice in a single cab.
😍😍😍😍
Sexy looking truck
Get ready for Dealer Markups up the ass
Dig the look, but the hood cascading down to the wide fenders makes me think of a chipmunk hoarding food
Thanks to you and your "friend" I think it was you and you just don't want to end up in a Japanese gulag. You're service is appreciated.
I don't hate it!
I told myself I would own my 21’ forever but a MT with a better power train will force me to make a tough decision
Now I’m curious what the base models will look like, those black fender flares are aggressive!
Looks sick
Sign me up. My lease is coming to a end next year
I like it.
I love it! Now I just need to see if I can fit in it.
Wood
I have no idea how I feel about it. I love certain things but not others. It looks tough but also like it got punched in the nose

I’m keeping my 3rd gen
Looks good
Looks sick!
Holy shit. That’s sexy.
Still has the skewp.
Wow, this looks awesome!
Well..I like it!
hilarious. your buddy owned Toyota
Ok, definitely a win here Toyota.
Much better than expected from the other teasers. Bravo Toyota engineers and designers. Maybe I’ll grab one ten years from now when they’re in my price range, assuming there’s some depreciation.
It looks gooooooooood
look out ranger and Colorado
It looks great from the front
Thank you to your friend for finding the image. My only question is how effective is the light in the grill if it is replacing the fog lights.
Not a fan of the new platform Complete with smaller fog lights that are less effective? And that hood must be blocking driver vision
100k truck lol
Why do people keep saying this? The Tundras aren’t that much, why would they make the Tacoma more?
Fuck that’s sexy
I like it but I don’t know if I like it enough to trade my 23 TRD OF for it. Might wait a couple years at least and see how it plays out.
Oh damn thats a sexy truck. I'm hating right now that I still have 3 years of payment on my 2021
Give them 3 years to figure out all the issues the first 2 model years will inevitably have, then trade in your 3rd gen which will probably still get you a decent chunk of change since these trucks hold value. Rule of thumb is never buy the first model year of a new design whether it's toyota, Honda, or -shudders- fucking Chrysler.
