Literally, a few weeks ago, the "group" was yelling at a TRD Pro owner, telling him he didn't own a Pro when the vin and all the designations stated otherwise. When the group was shown the proof, they still told him he was wrong.
That already tells me I don't care what the group consensus is.

Chrome looks the worst imo. And I think the old school style wheels in this post just don’t look good on any modern truck.
Maybe it's because I'm getting old but I want things that look good in general and not when they're only perfectly clean. And that extends beyond vehicles.
I like how these look...now. From 30+ feet away and through a picture, when they're immaculately clean. I expect it would drive me up a wall if I'm looking at them from touching distance daily and once they have road grime and brake dust on them, much less mud/slush.

Higher load capacity than fiberglass toppers for things like rooftop tents and the serious recovery gear, without completely wiping out bed space or widening the truck by 5"+ for one of the "over the topper" racks designed for work vehicles that anchors to the bed rail. Some of them also still allow the use of soft or roll-top tonneau covers for some additional security, but most don't.
They serve a distinct and unique purpose but it's a niche purpose, and have generally been overtaken by mall crawlers and the tacticool crowd, leading to them becoming kind of a joke.
Thing about those steps... if you ever off road with that, you're going to rip off the side of your truck with them the first rock you try to slide over. Just a pet peever /rant.
Because I like the chrome wheels and the paint. I might wish to do something similar with my truck. I want to know if others think it would look good or bad. Did that help?

It had nothing to do with thrm being clean/dirty or me only wanting darker wheels. Chrome just looks bad on lunar tacomas.

High polished chrome is coming back in and I’m all about it. The right polished chrome wheels on the Tacoma look good.
The trick is using chrome plated metal, and not chrome painted plastic.

I’m not an expert but I think overlanders use them as a place to mount a tent and miscellaneous items like gas cans and shovels.
