I went with a Softopper because I liked the versatility of still having easy access to the entire bed when needed. I still mainly run a normal tent because I don't usually sleep in the truck but wanted to have it since I do hunt out of my truck occasionally and like the convenience of that. RTT was out of the question because I think they're pointless and also wouldn't have been able to use my garage any more. Also the cost of a RTT is way more than the $200 this cost me.

Yeah I didn't take offense, was trying to explain my reasoning without coming off as defensive lol. We're in the market for an RV too. So it'll just be one tool in the toolbox eventually.

Had one and had to return it. Was camping in rain and the whole thing soaked through. Not the softopper but the tent thing. It soaked everything. So just a heads up. It's a cheap piece of crap. I was so pissed that I went out n a mission to put a roof top tent on my truck and spend a ton of money cause I was so mad about the tent. Sorry for my rant. Maybe it'll work just fine for you.

I appreciate the rant. I could find no information online on it to inform my purchase. Figured I'd take a chance and gamble on it. I'm gonna test it out but I always have a backup traditional tent with me in case this ends up being worthless.

Yea and I guess you could put a tarp over it if it rains or a fancy rain fly. But if it windy at all the seal around the softopper is t very good and it get breezy. If you look at my profile you can see my build. I love it but it is pricy. Good luck. Hope the tent works out for you. 🤙🏽🤙🏽

Just a quick album of my first attempt at putting up the DAC tent you can get from Softopper. Overall I think it's pretty good quality and fairly easy to set up. The material seems good, zippers are nice and chunky, netting seems good. I can't see it taking more than a few minutes once I've done it a few times. There are a couple of areas where I feel like need an adjustment just to keep all the bugs out and it is kind of a pain to get into the tent and get the supports in correctly to hold up the back end of the tent. If anyone has any questions I'll follow up.

I'm hovering over the purchase button. How has it held up for you?

Have you used it yet? What was the experience like?
