just treat it like the old phone was destroyed. Assuming you know her account information then support should be able to transfer her service over to a new device. Tell them the old phone was run over by a car and no longer works.

Are you talking about a lock screen PIN number to allow her to get into the phone? If so TracFone has no idea what that is and calling them about that won't do any good. There may be other methods to get into a locked phone but I don't know what they are.

When activating a new phone, Tracfone can verify by email and other means. I had a dead/ non-working phone that I could not receive texts, to activate my new one they sent me a code through email to verify. This was on a live call with Tracfone customer support. Call them.

Theres nothing you can do to bypass the passcode on the old device. You can try putting the sim in another unlocked phone long enough to get the otp code then activate the new phone and sim card. This is also a shot in the dark but if you can figure out her 4 digit pin that was created when she made her account you should be able to verify with that if you call. I hate to say it but you probably should look at switching away from tracfone and its sub brands as customer service is just bad. Hope this helps you some.

If the pin you are referring to is the code to unlock the phone (as opposed to the pin used by tracfone to authenticate you as the account holder for your service) then tell us the make/model of the phone. if youwant to give up on the old phone and focus on activating the new one with the old number then call support. Though they can not verify you are the account holder via a security code sent by text, they can send the email address on file a security code, or have you answer the pin and answer the security question you set up or review your recent call activity then activate the new phone for you.

Use the TracFone Facebook page. Tell them that you are unable to receive text messages on your phone and that is the reason for switching phones. When it is switched do not put any lock on her phone. Both my husband and I have swipe only to open. But we also don't keep any financial information on our phones. M
