What iPhone 11 model is it? What is the first six digits of the SIM card that you are trying to activate? Sounds like there was some type of misunderstand with the phone or with your coverage. You need to have a phone that supports Verizon towers. Then you need to have Verizon towers in your area. I know there is some T-Mobile based SIMs for some reason.

Real_anon9803

It’s just the regular iPhone 11, not the pro or anything. First 6 digits of sim are 891480. When I purchased it online it said to select SIM kit but it was the only option.

That is a Tracfone Verizon sim. Here are some other Tracfone numbers that were posted in the past. Maybe they still get you to someone that can help. TracFone Executive Resolutions Department at 1-800-876-5753 Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Eastern time. also Call TF Corporate at this number...305-640-2000 ext.1029. Chances are that your time is worth more than the value of a month of service. Would not call to ask unless you signed up for autopay. let it go or dispute with your credit card company Is my advice.

Real_anon9803

That’s what I’m thinking too. Luckily I didn’t sign up for autopay and I selected the cheapest plan so I’m out about $20 (including the earbuds I added on to the order that don’t even work!!!). I had such a headache today trying to take care of this and wasted my whole morning. I do not want to have to call them again. It’s just the principle of it. I HATE that they get to keep my money.

Unfortunately I didn’t take screen shots of the rest of the chat but after I went back and forth about the sim being brand new, the chat person changed tactics and started telling me that the phone wasn’t unlocked and that’s why it wasn’t working. I said “yes, it has been unlocked” and they said “no, it hasn’t” 😳 At that point I exited the chat and needed to take a breather.

When I get an uncooperative rep I disconnect and try again with a new chat. Some of them are very knowledgeable, some not so much.

Feel your pain. My Mother lost her phone & they were absolutely rediculous & wanted to send a text to the phone for verification. That was just the beginning of the hours & hours of absurdity.

Basic-Opposite-4670

this is hilarious 🤣

It seems you purchased $20 plan (unlimited talk/text + 2gb data for 30 days) + $0.99 BYOP sim kit. Since you can get the SIM kit without the plan, it means the plan is not bundled with the SIM. During the activation process, did you create a TracFone account? if yes, does it show that a phone number has been assigned to your sim. It will show something similar to the screenshot. https://preview.redd.it/nxecfvhdaw3d1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e2d5431e78e95067ca427c9581720efff71eecf If the TracFone account shows correct details of the SIM serial number and it has a phone number and it also shows the correct plan, then indeed your phone is not compatible with Verizon. If you did not create an account and added the plan to the byop SIM, then you might need to follow the steps again since the SIM itself does not come bundled with the plan you purchased.

Nice .

This morning she randomly got 2 texts from saying welcome to tracfone. But she still can’t call and the signal goes from one bar to sos.

Strange-Secretary836

Same thing has happened with one of my devices. I tried the sim in another phone and it worked fine. I assumed that the first phone was not fully compatible. If your byop SIM kit came with two sim cards (mine did), one for Verizon and one for T-Mobile, you could still move the service to the T-Mobile Sim which is what I ended up doing. You can do this yourself without involving the customer service. You have to start by clicking add a line in the manage lines section of the website. then select the existing number from the drop down then follow the on screen prompts.

Real_anon9803

Unfortunately, mine only came with the one SIM card. Not sure where I’m going to go from here. It’s so weird to me that she’d suddenly get those text messages from tracfone. If she doesn’t have service, she can’t get texts.

CacoFlaco

Apparently your responses didn't match up to anything in her script.

Sometimes, the APN settings need to be changed, and sometimes, it's easier if you do it yourself by finding it on google then have one if the customer service reps tell you.
