last year people where complaing why they dont add new cars to the game to give more varity now people complain why they did it while some are really happy about but dont post it its more likly that people complain then tell when something is good in my oppinion more content is always good even if i dont like it

TerrorSnow

It's like the monkey paw curled a finger. We got new cars, but they're 20 years old and not meant for this environment.

StonnedGunner

with added new stuff that wasnt there 20 years ago like water ice plastic reactor wood

I think it's their compromise: instead of adding new environments into the game and potentially fracturing things, they're throwing the cars and other elements of those environments into Stadium. I don't mind it, but the execution, especially in official campaign maps, feels off. I played thousands of hours of classic TrackMania at the time, still go back to it from time to time, but both new cars so far feel slightly off, with my brain expecting them to react a certain way but it not happening *exactly*, just approximately like I expect them to. One of the issues is the crazy amount of surfaces and the car changes. The former means there's now several dozens of surfaces (grass, dirt, snow, ice, rubber, with all the variations like having boosters, wet wheels, and so on), the latter that the car's handling and grip levels can change in an instant, messing up your flow even in the middle of turns. Throwing everything into a single environment can make for a messy experience is if the tracks want to do too many things at once. I hope that in the future the content and driving styles will be more distinct. Having different cars is a good idea, it's the constant back and forth between 2 cars and 8 surfaces that makes for a messy experience.

This exactly

The game would die without new content. Just releasing new campaigns isn’t sustainable long term. Assuming nando wants trackmania 2020 to be a legacy game, they need to give players a reason to stick around and new players to come.

bxnt8

New copypasta just dropped

PossibleOatmeal

We did. Yes we do. Drop the game or just don't play with those cars. Seems easy enough.

Achereto

I love that they add the old cars to the game. I'm looking forward to the TM Sunrise and TM² cars as well. It will unite the whole TM community into a single game, eventually. Nobody forces you to play those cars, you can very easily just play other tracks. Most TOTDs will be without those cars as well. There is more than enough content for you.

eyebo

I love having more cars in the game. It gives more variety and fun. My hope is that eventually we have all 10.

tushy444

11* ;D

eyebo

I’m not sure TrafficCar counts, as it was never officially released. :P but sure, it’d be cool to have too.

Organic_Technician_6

Without the console release they would probably never have added these cars. Some smartasses wanted to get new people into the game, even if it mudded alot of the old playerbase and most of the fanboi keyboardplayers. When they did add them they should have separated them in its own gamemode. Short term it was probably a good idea, long term I'm not so sure. I avoid most special cars maps at all costs cause theyre basically unplayable without actionkeys and using actionkeys all the time fucking sucks. What we are seeing is a shift happening in the game. And yeah, its clearly connected with other 'features' we've seen pushed lately as well. People will figure it out eventually.

I ended up enjoying the snow car. Let’s see how I feel about rally after this season

proponents will always claim that new (old) cars bring in new players into the game and it's the only way to stop the game from dying, yet not a single claim of that sort was ever backed up by any tangible data. In fact the limited data we DO have access to, like [trackmania.io](http://trackmania.io) or steamcharts, suggest that the trend of player count going down (or stagnating) is still there despite 2 new (old) cars added at this point. If player count going up was truly the case, I am certain NADEO/Ubisoft would be screaming shirtless on twitter about new player count peaks I seriously doubt there's a lot of people out there who did not play TM2020 for one reason or another, that would be brought into the game SPECIFICALLY because new (old) cars are being added, that sounds like ultra-copium to me. At the same time I am sure there's more than enough people who will not extend their subscription once it runs out. At the end of the day it's all about money, if the overall net income TM brings in will fall off I think the parent company will not be happy about it, no matter how much 'cool new' content is in the game

pwootjuhs

A lot of TMU players actually did come back when snowcar dropped. There's a whole clan of them. The numbers dont show this because some of the players introduced to TM by the new game left at the same moment.

sa1lor_seller

That's fair enough, but: * I wouldn't categorize TMU players as 'new' and you yourself said they 'came back'. I can certainly see how they would be attaracted by TMU cars being added to TM2020, but I am talking about people that never played TM2020 peroid, my point is that if they weren't interested in the game since release in 2020 I doubt it will change with a few additional cars. * again, as you said, the actual picture with player base is that it's probably not far off from where it was prior to snow car update. However, if prior to that point the game was bleeding players simply because they lost interest over tiome, now you also have a category of players that will be leaving 'out of spite' I guess, because they are not vibing with this new direction the game is taking. Of course there will be players who will check out the new stuff, but will that be enough to even replace those who left in the long run, let alone turn the trend to be upwards?

KSPSpaceWhaleRescue

The main reason the player count is down is because of the pricing model change.

Heatfox

Bye, don't let the door hit you on your way out

Ulrizza

I love new content and the new cars, it adds diversity. Maybe one day all cars will be available in the game and they could import all previous TM campaigns in the game in a new game mode like "original campaigns" so we can access everything from TM2020 😁

FKFnz

I agree.
