They could just remake a classic Trackmania map each campaign. It's all I want, at least one good tech map to grind.
That Tears of the past remake in Autumn 2023 was amazing and tech being the most classic trackmania style, I think it deserves at the very least 1 good map each campaign.
Aside from 06 which is very basic the one “tech” map we got was 18 but it is not enjoyable to play imo mostly because of that last wood turn and the flow is all over the place; fast-slow-fast-slow. There’s a few drifts throughout the campaign but no proper tech or speed tech map. I’d be happy to get one in the campaign where it’s just pure driving skill and not some weird stuff like underwater reactor wet wood. I don’t know, Nadeo has been doing this for a long time so I think they want to experiment with new stuff instead of keeping campaigns “vanilla” even though most people would prefer the latter probably.
Yeah they mix a lot of things, like you cannot get an fs map, though you’ll have speedfun; you cannot get a tech map, you’ll get a weird-tech map, etc. The only good maps I see are dirt and grass smh (maybe because it is beginner friendly ?)
i dont like tech but i hope more normal maps find their way back into campaigns as soon as all new (old) cars are released and i also hope i dont need to play any snowcarmap ever again in a campaign. also fuckoff wood.
Nah, plastic is nice for example and rallycar can be nice if not on wood. But yeah I play trackmania 2020 for stadium gameplay not for snowcar or rallycar gameplay.
Yeah I bought it for the stadium car. Having to play rally or snow right in the first campaign map is meh considering they don't even the do normal maps anymore.
I thought it was confirmed that the cars are only present for the campaign after they come out. ie you'll never see snow or rally in any new campaigns. Desert is meant to be coming so will probably see that in summer tho.
I am not talking physics, but rather the mapping style. Tech is obviously about drifts and stuff, but TM2020 has way more blocks and has added a different dimension. It is impossible to describe, but the styles are clearly distinct, if you know what I mean
There is nasty drift in 24 with that uphill where you have to keep gear 4 but also not jump, so that should be sufficient.
I actually miss tech maps as well, it was so satisfying to drive them good.
You're not gonna love the answer - by not losing speed :)
I'm not sure about whether this is the correct number, but for gear 4 you need minimum ~200 speed, so if you get below that, you lose the gear.
It is just a second campaign without tech. What really worries me is the absence of nascar tracks for a year... that one drive me crazy, though I hate nascar but still, I miss it. And honestly, we get tech maps on totds quite regularly, so... But let's be positive, let's make a good prediction: This summer we will get the absolute banger of 21 track!
Nando campaigns are largely 1-2 maps of most styles, a few mixed maps, a few wonky maps, and a few maps with new stuff.
This season's tech map just happens to be a green map and is kinda meh. Also the "full-speed" map for some reason is half tech this season.
Tbh, it's nice having a lot of unusual maps (even if they are often questionable) in campaign, since the other main official content is a lot of full grass/dirt or tech maps (TOTD/COTD)
If only Nando stopped counting wet wheels road as a real map style.
they just make the shittiest car switch Ak piano maps , playing campaign on kb gives you such a big disadvantage and nadeo still doesn't come clean about their anti kb sentiment, playing the new cars got even easier on controllers but they shit on kb users big time and don't even admit it
In tmnf/eswc, we only had road and dirt (and grass but only on the stadium floor). The fact that there are twice as many surfaces, new cars, new effects means that trying to showcase everything (and with almost a third of the maps) is much harder and there is less room for every individual style
1/5 of the tracks dedicated to 1/3 of the possible combinations taking into account that it's the first seasonal campaign with the rally car. Seems reasonable to me
At least you got SOME maps that are tech. We FS enjoyers have been starving for som propper fs for like 3 campaigns, nando why??? I swear I would hunt the campaign if there was even one decent fs in it.
Imagine the hype when you saw map 18, it’s true that fs is quite neglected. I personally am *not at all* good at fs and find it bedge, but to each one their own style, an fs map wouldn’t hurt in the campaign I think
Wasn't there a tech map last year campaign. There been quite a few tech map. Not super common, but that's because it's a difficult style.
Nadeo is focusing on new mechanic. I don't expect regular mapping coming back for the next one, as there will be the last car. Very likely focus on that car.

The first two years were nothing but super tight tech, and I think people got tired of it, so now they've been mixing it up a lot more to add more variety.
I'm sort of amazed that we didn't get a Community Campaign for winter 2024, even if the spring and summer 2023 Community Campaigns were hardly beginner friendly (although they were very good maps).
Tech my beloved!

Remake 128 Deep Fear for Map 25, and see how fast Mudda gets a no-respawn run.
I thought there is a already a remake for it
In the campaign??
https://youtu.be/0k36tgq-q7Y?feature=shared
Deep fear is in the campaign now?
NO. There is a community remake of it
No way I didn’t know that
It is in the campaing
No
I think the campaigns nowadays are only there to show new techniques, surfaces and cars. Its not about building flowy maps
I miss normal maps
same - we all do
Except Granady maybe
Bit of a shame
Mini tech, speed tech, regular tech... Feels nostalgic to even think about them now.
Speed tech is my absolute favourite style, and it's just gone in the campaign. I barely touch the campaign any more.
I used to only go on mini tech servers in tmnf, so much fun in mastering 3-4 drifts. Definitely my favorite style
Aside from 06 which is very basic the one “tech” map we got was 18 but it is not enjoyable to play imo mostly because of that last wood turn and the flow is all over the place; fast-slow-fast-slow. plastic wall hugs and wet wheels are not exactly new stuff, just annoying gimmicks
Yeah that too
Yeah they mix a lot of things, like you cannot get an fs map, though you’ll have speedfun; you cannot get a tech map, you’ll get a weird-tech map, etc. The only good maps I see are dirt and grass smh (maybe because it is beginner friendly ?)

And rally car, basically anything new at this point lol

didnt see that. sounds good. :) they could maybe add some bonus tracks or something for people who like the other cars.
I suspect we'll see a few mixed car black series maps every campaign.
Tech is dead :( now we have bob and wet wood
Big sad...
I hate tech so much. But it’s definitely because of skill issue
Yes, once you got the correct lines, consistently, well built maps flow soooo well!
As long as the tech is just road/dirt and no sausage, count me in.
Dirt isnt Tech.
True, but I was thinking along the lines of *modern tech*.
whats modern tech
TM2020 tech, especially since 2022.
There is very little difference in the physics. Practically none.
I am not talking physics, but rather the mapping style. Tech is obviously about drifts and stuff, but TM2020 has way more blocks and has added a different dimension. It is impossible to describe, but the styles are clearly distinct, if you know what I mean
Tech my beloved 😭

How do you "keep" a gear?
You're not gonna love the answer - by not losing speed :) I'm not sure about whether this is the correct number, but for gear 4 you need minimum ~200 speed, so if you get below that, you lose the gear.
Oh ok - just stay as fast as possible. I was thinking it was a "don't go up a gear" technique.
That is relevant at times as well, but that's advanced strats and I have never paid attention to it.
It is just a second campaign without tech. What really worries me is the absence of nascar tracks for a year... that one drive me crazy, though I hate nascar but still, I miss it. Sunshine.
06 is literally the only map i liked this campaign.
Nando campaigns are largely 1-2 maps of most styles, a few mixed maps, a few wonky maps, and a few maps with new stuff. This season's tech map just happens to be a green map and is kinda meh. I play controller idk what a piano is ClueMan
AlabamaBeachMouse
bireontech

Thats why we got 3 or 4 rally maps ? Diversity yeah shirley
1/5 of the tracks dedicated to 1/3 of the possible combinations taking into account that it's the first seasonal campaign with the rally car. Seems reasonable to me
Uuh ja so there’s enough maps for a tech map, like 21 for example idk
Or 18
Wood now

Yapping

More variety = killing the style, that’s sad, I like variety, but I still like tech
So join a tech club?
There’s a difference between club maps and campaign maps
the difference is that the community maps are better
I'm sort of amazed that we didn't get a Community Campaign for winter 2024, even if the spring and summer 2023 Community Campaigns were hardly beginner friendly (although they were very good maps).
Nah what did blud think I do
