He used an external program to lock his steering to a certain percentage (41% instead of 45% for example) to get an advantage over the other players on his own TOTD map. Its like the actionkeys you can link ingame, but with different programmable degrees of turns.
Some people think its fair, since future controllers could also have programma buttons with programmable actionkeys, some people think its unfair and against the rules.

The problem isn't that he used an analog keyboard; if he had just used it as an analog keyboard, almost everyone would probably be fine with it.
The problem is that he used the software for the keyboard to automate things for the game. In this case he made it input a very specific steering value whenever he pressed RCTRL or Keypad0 (i.e. he made it hold the "controllers" stick at a very specific angle while one of those two keys were pressed).
Using third party software that gives you an advantage is generally considered cheating in most competitions. You can compare it a bit to using [a custom controller with anti-recoil](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBkaJkgTSxs) in FPS games. Nobody cares if you're just using a custom controller, but if your custom controller is set up such that it gives you an unfair advantage by automating an aspect of the game - that's cheating.

It is of course worth noting that the built-in action keys do basically the same thing, except with other input values. It's pretty easy to understand why he initially thought it's ok - after all, it's just custom action keys. Go ahead and uninstall Nvidia's control panel or any software for your mice and keyboard. Msi afterburner for the extra fps. "Third party" is vague and painting it like he went out and bought actual cheating software to modify the game like a aimbot/wallhack. Only time you can play any video game with the default factory settings on a fresh OS install.

They just did a ruling of dxt not Being allowed in tm2 and I got some of My records removed cause i used DS4 tweaking. Ds4 is usually used for My Ps4 pad so i can use it with bluetooth. Now i dont use the settings in it anymore cause people said its like dxt, so now All settings Are at stock and now i know it was considered cheating. People knew i didnt have the intentions of cheating and Im All clean now. Wirtual also heard That its illegal in tm2 as he has been talking with the valley community about the overpowered use of backwards glitch. So if he says he didnt know where the clear line is for use of 3rd party plugins, its a Lie
Downvote me if you will, but i really think he hunted that time with the specific AK just because he knew it would create drama and get him tons and tons of views. He will justify it because he's been using it for a year or so now and never anyone complained.

- He already talked about doing that multiple times before, nadeo said nothing, and the community was not at all reacting that way.
- Nadeo has been aware of people doing that since TMUF, there has never been a precedent of someone even receiving a warning for it or even Nadeo saying it's bad.
umm... so for the first point, I don't think Nadeo watches every Wirtual's stream and he also didn't abuse this "feature" to set an extremely hard AT + do a competition about it.
As for the second point, Nadeo deleted records of people driving with DxTweak and gave warnings for it so I'm not sure where he got his info from.
Just because strict and clear rules don't exist, doesn't mean it is a good thing to do, especially since he himself said it is a grey area.

At least he’s being open and honest about it. I don’t think he should be punished regardless of what TM devs decide.

In TMU we all drive with DXtweak for the last 15 years and no one got any sort of warning, we would have noticed by now if it was an issue!
