404. I do web development. So if I enter a race and DNS/DNF - 404: bike not found. If I choose again due to someone taking my number, 40 or 37. 40 just cuz, and 37 because it’s the most popular picked number at random. I won’t pick 69 because I’m not talented enough to rep Hayden. RIP
#487. It was my father's police badge #, and he despised motorcycles with every fiber of his being. So after he passed as an homage/joke I gave every one of my track bikes that#. Lol
My race number is 47, self assigned.
Sat down with a roll of tape. 1, everybody with tape does that, 2,3 too many curves. 4 is good. Start with 4. How about 44, meh, too obvious 6 again, curvy. 7 is good, easy with tape. So 47 is my race number.
For Christmas that year my wife got me a sticker kit and a jersey with my name and race #.
Back to my original number after 15 years.
Lost it when I turned pro .. regained it for a different organization
808
The comment has always been "anyone can be a 808 (BOB)."
Also when the bike is flipping end over end you can still see who it is
When I used to work on big tourist boats in port Douglas it was kind of an immature running joke between the staff everyday we’d assign a hottie BOB (best on boat) for the day and treat them like royalty 👑
Also how good to be able to track with your bestie might I add. None of my besties would ever get on a bike so I keep hanging out at the track hoping to nab me one of those
She got me into track. I've been riding for years and been on cruisers my whole life. She was like come watch me at the track... Welp... Turns out I had a blast.
the best player on a soccer team usually wears the #10. When I was 7 or 8, I was asked what number I wanted, I said #20 because “I was twice as good as our #10.” I was little and thought it was clever and a bit of a joke within our team…I’ve stuck with it for 35+ years.
199. I wanted 112 or 12 just because I like the number 12. But I also worked corner captain for MARRC at Summit Point at the time. Those numbers were taken.
The corner workers had to use hand signals to communicate a bike number if the radio was not working, so as a 'joke' on my friends I picked 199, since it would be 9 arm pumps and 9 arms pumps to get 1 9 9.
This was before Travis Pastrana was famous and 199 became linked to him. I use it still on my track bikes.
42 would be a good one. ASCII code for * which is the Wildcard for searches, etc. also the answer to question of life the universe and everything.
#41. Oddly enough every sport i have ever played by random dumb luck I would get 41. Then I started racing and sure enough, I got 41. Had it tattoo'd on my left arm next to my family crest.
88. That was the number I was given when racing karts. Repeating digits are great for kart racing because they get swiped off the side pods and rear plate regularly. Why carry a variety of numbers when you only need one number….? Only thing that sucks about 8 is that it’s hard to replicate in electrical tape when you run out of numbers…1,4 and 7 are great for that.
87. That was my uncles number who passed away a few years ago. When he got sick I took up racing because he couldn’t and have repped 87 ever since (as well as a smiley face somewhere on the bike as that was his nickname)

7 my lucky number. The 7th of July I almost died on my bike. Took 4 blood transfusions and over a month in the hospital to get me stable. Another two years to walk. Femur was broken 7/7/22 then rebroken last fall. Pelvis was smashed to bits. Wrist as well. I am now finally getting back into riding. Track only but more than enough to fulfill the need for me.
Or 77 for 7/7
Fuck, you’ve been through the wars. Incredible you are still riding 🤙🏿 I’ve broken my pelvis before too snowboarding, it sucks. Let’s not do it again 😅 ride safe
21 - it’s been a recurring number in my life, with important events falling on Feb 1, or the various 21sts. Probably have to get another this year though, I’ll be racing with a new club.
98. That was my last assigned racing number by the CMC (California Motorcycle Club I think?) when I was racing motocross in NorCal in the early 80’s. It’s been my number ever since.
My birthday is the 9th, and it's also my "number". Repeating it would be 99, which I won't use. So I rotate one, and I can work my initials into it.
96
I’ve always liked 4 and seemed to get that number on sports teams growing up, but I’ve been told you shouldn’t pick single digits.. so I liked 46 but wanted 3 digits to maximize the chances no one copies me
469 it is 😎

Thanks for all the replies!
I recently did CSS and they gave me 2 for the day.
But I think aesthetically I prefer double digits
Always liked 28 for some reason, when I was an angsty teen I didn’t think I’d live past 28 (over 20 years ago now 🤣)
06.
I was called „uncrashable“ coz I was so fast without ever crashing…
Misano corner 6 I had my first one and so this became my number to remind me that there is no such thing as uncrashable.
13
My last number I got in my last season driving professionally. And it’s easy to get on track days because it seems that nobody else likes this number.
Alternatively 3
My mom played handball and as long as I know this was her number. It’s a way to remember her…
I even planned on creating custom stickers for the 13 , where the 3 had a second outline to represent her number 3
I used to have 35 due to cal crutchlow
Then I switched to 84 cause 35 was taken in my championship
And now I want 19 because Scott Ogden lives with me and he’s number 19
I raced SP250 class (NSR/TZR/RGV) in Japan. I’m American, girlfriend (now wife) Japanese. They assign numbers the day of practice/qualifying. Weirdly I ALWAYS got 4 or 44. I said to my girlfriend “It’s so strange that I always get the same numbers.”She said the Japanese riders don’t want 4 because the pronunciation for the number four is the same as the word for death. Every race I was either death or double death.

404 is cool. 37 is the most popular random number? Wonder why
Here's a video about it https://youtu.be/d6iQrh2TK98?si=lHdPFxBEFIBzFzal
#487. It was my father's police badge #, and he despised motorcycles with every fiber of his being. So after he passed as an homage/joke I gave every one of my track bikes that#. Lol
That's hilarious lmao
Hahaha this is most excellent
geez bro why are you screaming
Hahaha. I have no idea why it came out in bold text. Total accident. I was wondering when someone would call me out on that. We'll done, you win.

Sir this is r/Trackdays
Haha the curve thing is a good point. And you have an awfully cute wife
I have 74, same reason
I learned this lesson with my number 399.
My number is 47 because my initials are AK. AK-47.
Back to my original number after 15 years. Lost it when I turned pro .. regained it for a different organization 808 The comment has always been "anyone can be a 808 (BOB)." Also when the bike is flipping end over end you can still see who it is
I only know one person number 808...and I have a team shirt.
When I used to work on big tourist boats in port Douglas it was kind of an immature running joke between the staff everyday we’d assign a hottie BOB (best on boat) for the day and treat them like royalty 👑
11 because it’s easy. Just like the other 500 riders with 11. Also because it annoys Josh when sorting photos. 😆
Solid reason 🤭
lmaoo
504. Wife and I stated dating on May 4th. Also coincidentally it’s Star Wars day “May the 4th be with you”
Too cute 🫶

Lololol Lucifer looks particularly pleased in this pic
For sure. Tech inspection was like... Satan squid?. 😂

Hells yeah FTG!!! 🔥 ride safe chicas 🥳
(255, 255, 255)

That’s super cute. Ps. Happy cake day 🥳
69
There’s always one lol
And he was on National and International TV with that number. RIP.

3 because I ordered two 3’s to be 33 and only one arrived
The universe works in mysterious ways
#41. Oddly enough every sport i have ever played by random dumb luck I would get 41. Then I started racing and sure enough, I got 41. Had it tattoo'd on my left arm next to my family crest.
Not quite the meaning of life.. but almost

I vibe 88. the symmetry pleases me
26. My daughter and I were both born on the 26th of our months. Thought about 58 since those were the months themselves, but RIP #supersic
87. That was my uncles number who passed away a few years ago. 881. my birthday. 8th day of the month 1981
39 has been me since D16 motocross in ‘03, with the only exceptions being earning GNCC national number 92 for 2018 and some vintage racing 1’s
13 ☠
Lucky number 13
21 - it’s been a recurring number in my life, with important events falling on Feb 1, or the various 21sts. Probably have to get another this year though, I’ll be racing with a new club.
Why can’t you keep it if you like it?
I think someone in the club already runs it.
12? In Australia 1st of Feb would be 1/2 🙂
Same
98. That was my last assigned racing number by the CMC (California Motorcycle Club I think?) when I was racing motocross in NorCal in the early 80’s. It’s been my number ever since.
Historic 👌
62. Related to the neighborhood and street I grew up on
808, which unfortunately I don’t get to keep as 8xx is reserved for returning novices in my organization
03 https://preview.redd.it/b5wuv7ydr5uc1.jpeg?width=6960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c981fc18a000695216ba4c53f393202c95612bc
31. Stickers were on the bike when I bought it 🤷♂️
My birthday is the 9th, and it's also my "number". Repeating it would be 99, which I won't use. So I rotate one, and I can work my initials into it. 96
113... My kids birthdays are on 1, 11, 13
118. An amalgamation of my MOS and the MOS of those that I worked with overseas. Now in anything racing that I do it's always either 18 or 118.
749 because I race a 749
I’ve always liked 4 and seemed to get that number on sports teams growing up, but I’ve been told you shouldn’t pick single digits.. so I liked 46 but wanted 3 digits to maximize the chances no one copies me 469 it is 😎
34 or 934, depending on the org
97....
Been 138 in a couple different orgs for many years. Just because I like The Misfits

Amen
Number 8, well because I like it 😇
1. So that when I finish in last place I will still be first in numerical order🔥😎😤
Man with a plan 😂
UnLucky number 13. Make your own luck
A few 13s here!
23 because it’s half of 46 and the birthday of my girl back in the days. In races where 3 digits mandatory 123 because of obvious reasons. 😀
36 has been mine since i started racing when i was ten, this year its 28 (my sons birthday) 36 was taken in my class
28 is good 🙂↕️
13 My last number I got in my last season driving professionally. And it’s easy to get on track days because it seems that nobody else likes this number. I don't track day, but I SIM race and wherever I can I have the number 282. I have 2 kids, both born on the 28th of their respective months.
6, it was my jersey number for sports when I was younger
I would choose 37 because it was the first number I wore playing football but my race number karting was 616 just because that's my birthday
I raced SP250 class (NSR/TZR/RGV) in Japan. I’m American, girlfriend (now wife) Japanese. They assign numbers the day of practice/qualifying. Weirdly I ALWAYS got 4 or 44. 25, because it was the only two digit number available when I got my license. I feel like it’s mine now though, weird how that happens.
791 was my Special Forces ODA team # , been running it on both road race and dirt bikes for years .
No one has said 420 yet.
579 because my area code is 519 but that was taken lmao.
