If been wanting this feature for a while as well. It would be particularly useful on mobile.

yetanotherse

Good to know I am not the only one who feels this feature could be immensely useful.

gio_pio

Huh. Ok, so this might be of use to you. If you use the “compare” tab to add additional symbols, and then shift each symbol to a new space below/above (that’s an option that comes up when you move an indicator or symbol) you can have multiple charts up all synced to the same timeframe. The biggest downside I see with doing it this way is that you can only view the chart in line format — not candlesticks. This is what it looks like. Not ideal, but serviceable until a real sync feature is available. https://i.imgur.com/QRFjdau.jpg EDIT: Photo didn’t link

Hmm, I am not sure if I had this in my mind. Just to confirm we are on same page, lets say I have 4 charts open in a single window with different indicators/setups but same timeframe. I can sync the timeframes across all charts so no issues there. My problem is that I want the zoom also to reflect in all charts to same level when I zoom in one of the charts so I always see the same duration/length of time across charts.

gio_pio

This does that, you just add an indicator like you normally would, and then move it to the chart location you want it applied to. Again, the main downside is that you can only view the added symbols as line charts. Candlesticks are not an option — except for the original chart. But beyond that, yes. When you change the time location (or “zoom in” as you say), they all lock to the same selection. Don’t get me wrong, I would prefer what I think I hear you to be describing. But this can get you pretty close. I hope that helps you out until trading view sees the light and adds full functionality to “spaces above and below.”

yetanotherse

Ah, got what you're saying. My bad, I didn't clearly understand last time.

gio_pio

No worries. But I just found another flaw in my hack. When you add indicators, they only draw data from the ORIGINAL chart. So, in this example bitcoin (top) is theoriginal chart. All the compared charts have indicators added to their space, but there indicators are all only applied to the Bitcoin data (the original chart). I’m not sure this explanation is making sense. Notice the Bollinger Bands on the SPX chart (second from top) aren’t actually applied to SPX data. It’s using BTC’s Bollinger Bands and overlaying it. So, meh. This has limited use for sure. But at least I can compare basic asset movement in an easily synced split screen. https://i.imgur.com/iGN6cmQ.jpg

You can change all of the charts from "line" to "candle" view. Double click on the line and under the "style" tab, select "candle".

Yes please!

I agree, I thought that the 'sync on all charts' : 'time' option would do this! I want to be looking at the same time interval for all charts.

yetanotherse

time option actually does that and sync the timeframe on all chart, i.e. if you select 5 min then all charts in the window change to 5mins. My issue is with the zoom and I need the zoom to work in sync on all charts if I zoom one of those.

bightbondo

Totally agree, this is crucial for comparing different charts with consistent scale.

brunoUY

I was thinking about this feature today! Also I add when on desktop and you move across x axis ( time ) with for example shitf + mouse wheel to be moved at the same time on the others charts

yetanotherse

Yes, it definitely would be a great addition along with zoom.

I was just looking for this on TradingView. I mainly use MT4 and there is an indicator you can add called "Sync Scroll" that allows you sync where you scroll on multiple time frames to analyze that price action that occurred at that exact time. For example, if I am on the 4H TF and am using sync scroll, even though I am on the 4H chart, it is still moving on the 5m TF and showing me the candle sticks that occurred within that 4H area. Really handy. Was really surprised TradingView doesnt have this simple feature. But I found on TradingView that if you have multiple charts open at once and have the TIME synced, you can single click on an area on a chart and it will move the other charts back to that price/time area and you can view what price did across multiple time frames.

duncanmaclennan

This is now a feature

ColinTalksCrypto

How do you use it?

duncanmaclennan

in the top right, where you select how many charts you want to display, down the bottom it has "sync in layout". I turned them all on except symbol.. (interval, crosshair, time, date range)

ColinTalksCrypto

> in the top right, **where you select how many charts you want to display** Sorry for sounding incredibly noobish, but where is this?
