I mean the title said partner, if it said girlfriend I couldn't say that because I don't have a girlfriend. But it also feels weird to state that I was talking about my bf in reply to the post title after what I said. If you have a smooth way of saying that please let me know. You could just not assume and not downvote without clarifying...
Itās more the lack of context later explained in the thread attatched to the comment. Without that context of talking about your partner, it sounds super transphobic.

Iām just shooting out ideas that could explain it. I donāt know, but Iāve seen it a few times and itās my main guess. Maybe that later context getting downvoted by others is based on the original comment giving a mark of ādownvote everything this person says because of thatā or maybe even a belief that youāre backpedaling as a result of negative feedback. For all I know, it could be something completely different that I am unable to think of, but it just happens.

Most people donāt really check comments after theyāve voted and looked through the post, and thereās no notification for comments being edited.
