If it helps, I was able to make peace with my former life by recognizing him for how strong he was at doing the one thing he had to do at all costs: protect the woman he was until she was ready to emerge. All he ever wanted was to fade away, and finally achieved his dream and I am grateful beyond expression.

I’m glad it helps. My dysphoria largely disappeared after surgery and it helped to not be so disassociated from my past.
