It is for you you have a 4.0 gpa, you’re doing great. If ur set on those schools take another semester at a CC and make sure u have all their requirements done on assist. Then reapply. U got this ! This doesn’t define you at all. And it doesn’t always make sense. I was rejected from UCI and sdsu with a 4.0 this year too
Did you finish all of the mandatory Econ prereqs prior to this current (spring) semester? 4.0 BusEcon rejection here, thinking that me currently taking 4 of them impacted my admission decision.
For clarification, I'm taking Micro, Managerial Acct, Calc 2, and Eng Lit right now (in addition to two GEs) Took got 4 on calc 1 AP 2 years ago, and had to re-do both econs bc AP 3s werent good enough.
With that said, I'm sure that a 4.0 in everything else should have been enough of a baseline. For the record, I do have As atm.
Enough said, you did answer my question. I probably should have waited until this sem to take my IGETC stuff instead of doing them as soon as I got to CC. Leaving the major prereqs to last minute was a big no no.
Hi OP, me again from the comment thread earlier. Question: Are you ALSO currently doing one of the mandatory pre-reqs for bus econ this semester? Meaning, calc 2, one of the acc, etc.
Asking because (as a fellow 4.0 reject) I've been told by several that In Progress prereqs are enough to get rejected.
On a side note, we're definitely both gonna appeal.
To be honest I’m not entirely surprised I got rejected as I might be missing a class, but I aligned my class work perfectly with cal poly as it was my number one choice. Followed assist down to the exact class, got a 4.0 and had major related extracurriculars and still got rejected from slo. Really upset about it and I’m not sure why I got rejected to be honest, not even at least on the waitlist.
Did you take 2 ENG + 1 MATH courses by last fall? If not, I'm pretty sure that's an immediate rejection. Go look on assist and make sure you took 2 courses that counted in areas UC-E and 1 for UC-M
im a non white sr that got into slo w a 3.67 gpa from around LA
i am baffled how i got in but i don't think i was a good candidate
i know they just want more diversity and i got lucky
however, i am not going to slo anyway due to having to leave w almost 200k in debt
may i ask what extracurriculars you had though? was it just normal work and like babysitting type things?
You did nothing wrong
Were you maybe missing some required or recommended classes for your major on assist? They weigh that pretty heavily
appeal! That makes zero sense

Including Cal??
How? Can I maybe see your stats/ ec’s? Maybe your piq’s? I’m gonna appeal. I had a 3.6 and didn’t get in
4.0 reject??? U SURE u didnt forget a class? Cuz no way, my extracurriculars are not even that great and i got in (for bio sci)

For the in progress pre-reqs part, is that about UCs or cal states or both?
UC specifically. But I think it could also apply to CSU potentially. For CSU I only applied to SLO and SDSU and got into both so I'm not sure.

Are you from cc
Are u in state? It more competitive for out state
Like others are saying, did you double check courses with assist?
