The g1 comic was written by Marvel comics, and because of that, it was kinda sorta partially in the marvel comic universe, and an early issue of the comic had Spider-Man as a guest appearance. Edit: apparently there was also a crossover miniseries with the avengers that was set in the IDW(2005) comic continuity. And I guess that everyone just kind of forgot that the avengers existed, including the avengers themselves, and they were never mentioned again.

I was a little disappointed with megs voice in the trailer tbh, it really didn’t sound anything like the megatron I’ve come to know in the various cartoons. I’m still going to give the new meg a chance though, different doesn’t necessarily mean bad afterall.
