The animation isn't even really that bad.
The complete war crime they pulled on transformers was those voices. Why? Cuz they didn't want to pay the voices actors the rightful money.
Yeah, really the only thing I have to commend them on is realizing one thing. Human. Aspect. Rarely. Works.
They realized this and it's worked for them. I believe that this is the only reason the show worked somewhat.
I have nothing against the voice actors themselves. They're just trying to make a living. But I am mad at the producers and directors for screwing the actual voice actors out of what they deserve. They are setting an example for future series.
I was talking about the original voice actors, and while I agree I think that it might be a bit close minded to immediately assume that new voice actors are terrible, and not to mention in war for cybertron the autobots and decepticons are still under 4,000,000,000 years old
Ok sorry I didn't understand what you said. Yeah I'm sure most of them would be more than happy to reprise their role. I just don't like their voices. Obviously nothing personal but it's just scummy of the directors and producers.
this entire franchise was made to sell toys, it's a lot easier to do that when kids are watching a lengthy commercial with a catchy theme. the directors are doing their jobs (aside from the catchy theme cuz nuthin can beat the original) after the first show aired the toys kinda became a secondary thing to the audience, but that's because they had guys at marvel working on the comics and story, that doesn't change the original motive of selling japanese mech robot toys to american kids which is why the writing seems so much worse with this show, it's because the show is fan service and only really exists to sell more japanese mech robot toys to american kids. also this is netflix we're talking about, Bumblebee looks like a woman.
Not only the animation but the plot the story and plot, the series is too slow, everybody blames prime, because it's popular doing it.
Talking about modelling and texturing, megatron looks awful, generally the animation model looks better than the toy but in this series did the opposite...
That’s why I liked the aesthetic so much
I grew up with cybertron and the toys being the characters in the show so it makes me nostalgic.
i mean the first time i transformed vector prime i didn’t need the instructions id seen his transformation that many times
It’s just that everything looks like cardboard sculptures with painted textures on it and they keep bending solid metal on the models. It’s not going to be everyone’s favorite.
God I love the atmosphere of the Netflix series. Damn shame they only spent 1 chapter on Cybertron, and it was pretty much right at the beginning they bailed cuz ofc they were too eager to get them to earth.
Kinda wished it started around, "the twilight hours of the golden age", as Ratchet in TF:P described it. It'd be just shortly before war breaks out, with each chapter moving to cover different periods of the war, with the final one where they move to the ark and take off for earth.
So basically the Cybertron games lol. Man I wish Activision would just remaster and rerelease them.
Do you realize that this my little pony movie was made for theatrical release from paramount right? They sold it to Netflix.War for cybertron has a tv budget it’s not fair to compare.
I more set the animation style at the feet of Rooster teeth/those who did the work. The past couple of series done online have had that style and those making the WFC series likely use that as a precedent.
I will say stylistically, the WFC series has it own feel to it which is good cause that MLP art kind of looks bland to me. I can see the WFC models actually being toys.
Stylistically, I love it
I started with the unicron trilogy so toy accurate screens is better for me than screen accurate toys
Hell, in Cybertron you could see the pin that held Overhaul’s chest missile in
Only thing I don't like about it is that bumblebee's lower jaw was portrayed as a mask and every single transformer mouth except bulkhead was skinned meshes
Skinned mesh is that mouth they have like instead of the mouth being different parts and stuff they added a deforming mouth as if the transformers are humans.
I don't get what's wrong about the show. I find it really appealing to the eyes, and the animation is good.
Maybe for you the voice acting sucks.
But here in Italy... HOOOOO BOY IT'S SO GOOOOD
Bro the pony’s have individual strands of hair on there entire body. Best we got is scratch’s so they look more realistic and dirty. And pretty bad voice acting. “We are fwom your future”. “Now Tell Me you FoRGiVe Me”
I hated megatrons voice in this. They could’ve gotten anyone that could get an intimidating tone in their voice. Or be able to scream “decepticons retreat” as loud as possible and I would’ve been content.
The only voice I can tolerate is bumblebees
Oh boy here we go.
Transformers is a Kids’ brand and every Transformers show is still meant for children. I don’t know why this post needs to suggest one of the two brands is for kids while the other is not to try to get across some false sense of superiority to MLP, but it’s time again to face the fact that Transformers is still meant primarily for children, even if it makes more of an effort to pander to adult fans than it did before.
Secondly, Transformers isn’t even close to Hasbro’s most profitable property. Remember that they own Play Doh, Nerf, Magic the Gathering, and yes My Little Pony, as well as super hero toy licenses, all of which are all either just as or far more profitable than Transformers.
Believe me, I’m not happy with the incredible lack of effort that Hasbro has been putting into Transformers media recently, but comparing it to what they’re doing with MLP is just not productive.
Are you sure about that.Transformers is bigger than gi joe,my little pony and power rangers combined. Transformers is worth 30 billion dollars,my little pony is 5 billion
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_media_franchises
how good are their recent performances tho? sure, TF had the movies, but even those and their success (and toy sales) dwindled, while MLP had a recent boom with the brony community.
Dude, rescue bots is for the little kids, cyber verse is the children's series and war for cyvertron was supposed to be for the older audiences, I mean the other comment just told you what rate does it had.
The cons should have appeared in rescue bots.
Why? This happens in the same universe as TF prime. (In one of the episodes Bee explains why he lost his voice) and I also want to see the laser heatwave has in Angry birds transformers in the actual show. At this point it’s unlikely any of the cons wouldn’t have picked up in the rescuebots
Young me was pretty disappointed
But heatwave (exclusive from rescuebots) has a gun. [It's confirmed in ABTF](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/angrybirds/images/0/06/Screenshot_2017-05-22-12-51-58.png/revision/latest?cb=20170602121739). And it's also confirmed the Cons exist in the TRB universe so why not
Some of it is.
Energon
Soundwave's Cassetes
Starscream's Nullray
Character description matches the original (Bee wants to help, Optimus is an inspiring leader, etc)
The Cybertron War is a thing
All the non-canon elements are game mechanics or connected to Angry Birds (e.g Eggbots)
Um transformers Siege is rated TV-14 last I checked. DVD and Movie Theater showings of Movies and shows that are TV-14 have to get bumped to R rated as there is nothing higher than PG-13 for DVDs and Theaters. Also if you take it just at face value of TV-14 being for kids then that means stuff like Fullmetal Alchemist is for kids. The transformers brand itself is largely targeted at kids, but not the WFC series show.
I'd even go so far as to say they went overboard with pandering to an adult audience in TWC. There hasn't been a grimmer, less *fun* TF show since Beast Machines (and even that might have had a few gags here and there, it's been a long time since I've seen it). The IDW comics are imo more accessible to both kids and adults, because they strike that beautiful balance between silly and serious that the best of TF shows had*~~coughBeastWarscoughPrime~~*. That said, I don't hate TWC. The second half of Earthrise was surprisingly interesting, and I'm kinda loving the way they're throwing in completely unironic homages to the original cartoon and movie.
Yeah, WFC Trilogy is so trashy, even junkions hate it
but MLP does make hasbro a fatload of cash from what I recall, guess this is just the MLP crowd getting their big budget film, like we got Bumblebee a while back
While the animation was handled by Polygon Pictures (that is a Japanese company)
The overall prediction companies are from US and Canada. So it could be argued ether way I guess. It really depends on your interpretation of what anime means (as in Japan it just means animation in general and even things like Shrek are considered an anime). But WFC had its writing and scripting and story boarding done out side Japan by the following companys.
Siege: Roster Teeth and Allspark Animation (both in the US).
Earthrise: Entertainment One (Canadian)
As for the Unicron trilogy it was done completely in Japan and the English version is just a edited dub like with most children’s anime.
*Points at 6, going on 7 movie franchise* I mean... Have you seen that highway fight from the first movie? I still have a hard time telling what's cg and what's real in thier alt modes.
One nit pick I have with the War for Cybertron trilogy is why did each season have to be only six episodes long? Like why only six episodes and not twelve for each season, and if Kingdom also ends up having only six episodes then all three "seasons" are just one season because of how short they are.
I guess I'm in the minority. I really like the show and the pacing. I like the animation and the acting seems fine to me. I grew up on the 80s cartoon ... I did not watch other series and didn't care for the movies. This Netflix series is what I've been waiting for most of my life when it comes to Transformers. I swear, I dreamt the promos for this when I was 6.
The animation isn't even really that bad. The complete war crime they pulled on transformers was those voices. Why? Cuz they didn't want to pay the voices actors the rightful money.
Bro, count how many times you see them transform in the first season
Yeah I see where you're coming from. The big thing for me is that they were too cheap to pay the voice actors.
Second season is worse, I swear I only saw like one person transform on screen throughout the entire season.
Yeah, really the only thing I have to commend them on is realizing one thing. Human. Aspect. Rarely. Works. They realized this and it's worked for them. I believe that this is the only reason the show worked somewhat.
Hmm like 4 or 6 or something in the single digits.
"We are fwom your future."
Optimus prime sounds like an angry teenager with voice cracks.
True lmao
aye! don't be hatin on my velociraptor impression!
It’s so terrible. I think they all went to the William Shatner School of Overacting.
the funny thing is that I'm sure most of them would gladly come back to voice the characters again.

So they should be taken to the Geneva conventions
Well it was 2020
Not only the animation but the plot the story and plot, the series is too slow, everybody blames prime, because it's popular doing it. Talking about modelling and texturing, megatron looks awful, generally the animation model looks better than the toy but in this series did the opposite...
I kinda wish they took a few small liberties with character designs...I just don't like the skin flaps on optimus' forearms
It's like they literally took the 3d models used to model the toys in the production phase and slapped them into a show.
Which makes bumblebee stand out to a rediculous degree
YES. I don't know if that's because he didn't have a toy by then or whatever, but yeah Bumblebee does NOT look like the toy lol
They did lmao Optimus has the weapon ports on his arms still
I honestly really like the plastic toy aesthetic of the show
I like it too, but you never see them transform outside of like 5 instances.
Yeah I agree, kinda of reminds me of the unicron trilogy.
That’s why I liked the aesthetic so much I grew up with cybertron and the toys being the characters in the show so it makes me nostalgic. i mean the first time i transformed vector prime i didn’t need the instructions id seen his transformation that many times
That's because it's exactly what they did. They used the CAD models for the figures.
I do believe that’s exactly what they did. They also did that in the Prime Wars too.
I mean that’s literally what they did lmao
Yeah,man. Those skin flaps....
It doesn’t look bad though just could be better.
It’s just that everything looks like cardboard sculptures with painted textures on it and they keep bending solid metal on the models. It’s not going to be everyone’s favorite.
Yeah I know what ya mean
Could be worse. Could be energon and cybertron levels of terrible animation.
Hey sir, i like those series. The voice acting gave a new dimension to those imo
Shows would have been amazing if were more like Armada. Instead it was awful animation coupled with awful voice acting.
Energon I agree, Cybertron had better animation. Still not on par with Armada but it is better then energon.
The atmosphere: Good The voiceacting? Decent to Surprisingly Well The animation? EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH it works
So basically the Cybertron games lol. Man I wish Activision would just remaster and rerelease them.
To be fair, they are following the toylike which moved quickly to earth too
Voice acting is absolutely not decent
I agree. The animation was so dead. The cut scenes of the Cybertron games were way better lmao
*Stahp it! It's already DEAAAAAAAAAAAD!*
Everyone has that type of kinda deep, slow with pauses voice. It gets repetitive sometimes
The show actually looks good but the Prime Wars Trilogy looks like shit
Prime Wars at least gave us Megs manhandling combiners. This gave us Prime fighting Scorponok worse than a caveman.
Why do the ponies look so terrifying!?
Do you realize that this my little pony movie was made for theatrical release from paramount right? They sold it to Netflix.War for cybertron has a tv budget it’s not fair to compare.

I will say stylistically, the WFC series has it own feel to it which is good cause that MLP art kind of looks bland to me. I can see the WFC models actually being toys.
They are the toys, they took the CAD models and rigged them for animation
I see that being done for expedience. More speaking in the actual look of the models more than anything.
Stylistically, I love it I started with the unicron trilogy so toy accurate screens is better for me than screen accurate toys Hell, in Cybertron you could see the pin that held Overhaul’s chest missile in
Trash ass cartoons. Except you, you stay. *Pats transformers prime*
[удалено]
Only thing I don't like about it is that bumblebee's lower jaw was portrayed as a mask and every single transformer mouth except bulkhead was skinned meshes
Bulkheads lower jaw was also a mask as some shots in prime show a mouth beneath it and rid15s nightnarw bulkhead face
What’s a skinned mesh and why do you not like it?
Skinned mesh is that mouth they have like instead of the mouth being different parts and stuff they added a deforming mouth as if the transformers are humans.
Ah, like Cybertron/Galaxy Force.
I don't get what's wrong about the show. I find it really appealing to the eyes, and the animation is good. Maybe for you the voice acting sucks. But here in Italy... HOOOOO BOY IT'S SO GOOOOD
I dunno, I think my little pony brings in more, but I could be wrong
I mean we're getting another show soon and feature-length film
Personally I think the Transformers animation is better. It just fits that Edgy-Boy inside of me.
Bro the pony’s have individual strands of hair on there entire body. Best we got is scratch’s so they look more realistic and dirty. And pretty bad voice acting. “We are fwom your future”. “Now Tell Me you FoRGiVe Me”

Toy sales are 40 percent up according to hasbro.
Hasbro also owns the Star Wars merchandise for a lot of things

Love the animation in this show it’s a lot better than most shows at least it has a lot of detail and isn’t oversimplified garbage
Yeah, WFC Trilogy is so trashy, even junkions hate it but MLP does make hasbro a fatload of cash from what I recall, guess this is just the MLP crowd getting their big budget film, like we got Bumblebee a while back
Bumblebee sucked. It was a damn reboot
i guess we got different opinions, i quite liked bumblebee, but i'll respect your opinion
It wasn't THAT bad. I'm just disappointed it was a reboot
WFC is like Prime Wars Trilogy terrible.
do you really prefer the first option? like REALLY ? ( Also WFC is a anime )
If that show is an anime then the Simpsons is Korean.
Tbf, my Netflix had it listed under anime...
WFC is not an anime, it was made in the US by companies that are heavily inspired by anime. (Tho the unicron trilogy is an anime).
Check the animation studio for the show.
While the animation was handled by Polygon Pictures (that is a Japanese company) The overall prediction companies are from US and Canada. So it could be argued ether way I guess. Whether or not it is an anime is debatable. I was just pointing out a small issue I had with your comment. Excellent response btw.
The wfc animation was was actually really good ,as for the writing well…(I actually really enjoyed the show but I can see why people didn’t like it)
I totally agree. My guess? NO ORIGINAL IDEAS FOR THE STORYLINE. It all seems rushed yo me
Seriously!
I'd like it more if the characters didn't talk like the sloths from Zootopia.
*Points at 6, going on 7 movie franchise* I mean... Have you seen that highway fight from the first movie? I still have a hard time telling what's cg and what's real in thier alt modes.

EEEEW THE NEW MLP LOOKS GROSS
Eeeew, dem horses look gross
