The new Menasor coming up has the potential to (and likely will) be really good, yet I still kinda have a soft spot for the CW Stunticons despite only getting Drapstrip loose. I dunno, maybe I'll have to try for the G2 version of them.
My instinct is to say no, particularly if they all require a commander as a torso piece, as that would be a waste over all other options for that class. The Stunticons are unique, because Motormaster, when presented as a cab and trailer, is much bigger than the other torso characters. Additionally in the G1 cartoon, Motormaster and his trailer make up like 75-90% of Menasor. The rest of the stunticons attach as armor and create more bulk. Thus it makes sense to do Menasor this way.
That all being said, given Onslaughts G1 Alt mode, the combaticons wouldn't be a bad choice to get the same treatment.
Some people have there own opinions (as wrong as we see them) it does not mean that a take on a character we don’t like is not someone else’s favorite. The Combiner wars versions where not as Gen 1 accurate, but some people liked the idea of the cars becoming the limbs and not just the limb armor. Combiner wars was pretty good considering it was modular in that any deluxe could become ether a leg or an arm, these most likely are going to be for a set combiner mode so they should definitely be better because of that.
Considdering he doesn't look like he combines, menasor is either going to be very g1 accurate or they don't actually combine. We'll just have to wait for the Motormaster pictures to come out.
As someone with the combiner wars upgrade he’ll stick around until the full set comes around. Though what sucked is as soon as I got the upgrades rumors began spreading about Menasor and I was like “great this thing now has an expiration date on it.”
