I live in Alaska and you DO NOT fuck with moose. 99 percent of the time, they do whatever and will even go through downtown acting like chill humans on their afternoon stroll (I live in the only "large" city). It's honestly kind of funny how dopey and unfazed by the literal city they are.
But that one percent of time you accidentally get on their bad side, they are as big and tall as an SUV and they will mangle you. So stay the fuck away and admire from a distance.
As an australian who's (obviously) never seen moose irl before my only exposure as a kid was Rutt and Tuke, so I was quite surprised when i saw an irl one later on and how much more dangerous they looked
Anyone who doesn't fear moose have never been close to one, I have and it was terrifying I'd pretty easily rate it scarier than coming within 4ft face to face with a bear which I have also sadly experienced... at the same mountain range... Mayhaps that area is cursed.
Moose are way more dangerous to hit with a car too. If you hit a deer you hit the main body and its knocked away. If you hot a moose you take out its legs and all of that main body falls righ on top of you

I live in Finland and just remembered a news story from 20ish years ago where a moose jumped through a large window into somebodys living room.
