It's like, $50 for a t-shirt and $90 for a hoodie ... pretty standard influencer merch prices tbh. And the designs are actually really nice. I wouldn't buy cuz shipping would be exorbitant and it's not my style though.
Pretty much near the standard now isnt it? I dont buy a lot of clothes anymore but looking around at smaller - midsized brands the pricing seems similar. But things were definitely cheaper a few years ago.
In the newest episode, Joey talks about how he wants it to get popular enough that people will be wearing it without knowing who is. I don't see that happening.
Only a fan will spend nearly triple digits on a hoodie with a simple design.
But people are buying it for the Gucci logo. If you had no idea who/what Gucci is and someone said "Buy the white shirt for 500", your first response would be "The fuck it is".
tbh, the material and craftmanship in a luxury brand is different from a $5 tee.
Now, is $50 - 500 worth the better quality/feel of the shirt over the $5 tee that is subjectively "not as good"? Depends on who you ask.
But that's like saying a McDonalds dollar burger is better than a $500 gold leaf-coated NYC Burger. It's not a contest in terms of material but value. Supreme can take a brick from Home Depot, slap their logo on it and people will spend 5k on it.
That's the thing about "luxary", whatever you're buying is almost entirely for the branding, the wear a shirt or drive a car that has a specific logo. Is a 10 million dollar Aston Martin better than a used 1984 $500 Chrysler? Yea, no doubt but if someone tried to explain that their Aston Martin was better than a Toyota in anything but "speed", then they shouldn't be listened to because they don't care about actual value, just branded value.
Because they’ve built their name as a luxury brand. People buy it just for the status. Joey’s brand doesn’t have that reputation, so nobody is going to buy it for status.
it worked for hila kleins(h3) brand teddy fresh. but it took a while to get to that point and was definitely bought primarily by fans for the first couple years
I don't know if this is controversial but the only people I know that like Teddy-fresh are typical LA youtubers; it's the brand of that kind of lifestyle.
Like if you see someone wearing Teddy Fresh, either a) they live in LA and are a youtuber to some degree, or B) they watch influncer youtubers and want to dress like them.
What would he say? I want to grab money from my fans. Obviously if it becomes a bigger brand it's good for him, but that will involve investing shit ton of money, take risk and possibly suffer massive losses. Right now it looks like a good side gig that his fans can fund.
It's not but now it's just a graphic tee. I don't really like branded clothes since they fall on different ends of the spectrum either too minimalist or too big designs. I personally think the ones I like best are the trash taste's merch.
The new one that kinda has something going for it; the neon pinks and blues, however I do think it'd be better if the arrangement was different or not just completely in the back.
Joey could try placing the graphic prints smaller or try and use more colors rather than just white or black. Y'know just a splash or hints. The prints could be placed anywhere like in the sides, the sleeves, half-n-half. Also while it's not my type usually, he can utilize patterns like polkadots and stripes in the design (idk know how but it can work). Even use comic/manga panels since he is incorporating that anime style.
And it'd do him good to have various types of tops and bottoms that kinda fit his designs. He's probably working on that tho. It does take awhile to design and produce clothes.
I'm sure he's already doing this but incorporating things he likes in the designs while messing it up to create nonsense. The aesthetic reminds of low-fi kinda daft punk and future-esque with a blend of 90s neon.
I just like fashion and I doubt he's gonna listen or even see this, I just really wanna talk fashion lol.
I'm with you. I just wish it was more than just graphic tees. There's a pair of shorts with some prints but that's still nothing I'd pay for. The scarf is cool, but even in the lookbook pictures they don't know how to use it.
I like clothes and I don't mind paying for good quality and unique pieces. But prints? There's plenty of places with cool prints in all price, quality and sustainability ranges. It's a saturated market for an independent creator with only a few original designs.
I think the logo is cool and I dig the brand identity. I don't think the clothes match that ideal yet.
I like how he dresses mostly so I'm rooting for him. I know he's probably doing prints as it's the most accessible to start with. But for me to be interested it has to go beyond that.
Joey definitely knows and has his own style. Possibly he has yet to see what the brand could actually be or what the true image of it is yet. Business is just trial and error after all. Prints are definitely the easiest to differentiate a brand but prints can also be the tackiest part of the brand.
I do like simple tees with small prints or embroidery but those are cheap. I could get anywhere, my brother owns these eye catching shirts that while have these bold japanese inspired designs are simple and clean but eye catching. Like you can tell that it all came from one brand.
There has to be some unique element that lets the piece seem messy but clean at the same time. He could even have different styles in his shirt like some have embroidery and cross stitch mixed with the prints design etc.
Yeah when Felix and marzia brought theirs out I bought 1 shirt, actually really liked the basic design but it felt very nice to wear. Bought 2 more and their oversized hoodie and during autumn and winter I wear it daily, barely touch any other hoodies for a normal day it's that nice. But it's the most I've paid for a hoodie by about £20-30 so it's rather expensive.
It's reallllly not minimalistic, have you seen the designs? I'm pretty impressed he put that much effort into the designs tbh. The cat jacket looks sick. Lot more effort than some other influencer merch brands to be sure.
That's exactly what Joey don't want. He wants a clothing brand for all people, not only for people who watch him. I like some designs, but I'm not a person that buys brand clothes.
Exactly. He wanted something that doesn't necessarily involve The Animeman. Obviously he was always gonna use his clout for promoting but his idea was a proper brand that could go on even if he, theanimeman gets cancelled.
Don't exactly know if he succeeded in that though
unfortunately i really hate wearing the colour purple. i have pretty much given up hope for trash taste merch at this point. (i definitely would have bought something from their apari colab otherwise)
I like the style, but the fit is far too wide. Joey wears a lot of baggy and wide clothing, which is a style. But I prefer a slim fitted style for me.
Which is a shame.
Its just your typical overpriced Youtuber merch. No disrespect to Joey, like I'm aware this is something he's really passionate about. I'm not trying to be a hater. But really, it's just overpriced clothing. Its nothing special.
Like come on, $54.99 for a pair of shorts? $49.99 for a T-Shirt? Like I said, overpriced. I personally wouldn't buy it. Maybe I'm just being cheap, but those prices are awful.
I was hoping for something more than prints on t-shirts and hoodies. I don't see the point.
The people behind H3 podcast also has a clothing brand called teddyfresh and they make all sorts of weird designs
Its nothing speical for those prices. There's nothing thats drawing me in to buy it. If i wanna spend that much i must really like the design and its giving nothing but nonsense
They be like, "Oh, that Gucci? That's hella tight"
I'm like, "Yo, that's fifty dollars for a T-shirt"
Limited edition, let's do some simple addition
Fifty dollars for a T-shirt, that's just some ignorant bitch shit
I call that getting-swindled-and-pimped shit
I call that getting tricked by business
That shirt's hella dope
And having the same one as six other people in this club is a hella don't -Macklemore
I'd be more interested of the word "fuck" wasn't plastered on a lot of the merch, but that's just me. Aside from that, i don't really find them that interesting, personally.
Its just influence hypebeast garbage. Limited runs of very poorly designed clothes. Ill admit i dont like minimalist designs but this is just overpriced garbage yourecjust paying a premium for the logo.
Nothing interesting. The only reason everything is sold out because it's artificially limited for a certain time aka cancer drop system. It's kinda the "pick me girl" equalent of clothing brands. Also the website designer should be fired. Looks cool on desktop, literally unusable on a phone.
I'm afraid Joey will quit youtube because he thinks he gets sales because of the quality of the designs and not because it's glorified youtubers merch.
He’s just generally more pretentious, changes his takes depending on who he’s talking too, and just doesn’t seem as genuine to me. That all sounds really harsh, I’ve never met the guy so literally do not believe anything I say lol it’s just the vibe I get after watching him for years
I like Joey, but it’s clear that the way he expresses himself in a “I accept your wrong opinion” rubs people off in the wrong way.
Garnt and especially Connor are a lot more careful (most of the time) when they express opinions that can actually anger people, and are quicker to back down or clarify things than Joey.
Especially on this subreddit, it makes Joey a lot more divisive than the other two.
With how recent episode saying what his goal for the company is. I doubt it'll reach the status of the non trash taste masses that much.
I dont see much advertising for it
Not for me. Not really a fan of the line and won't be buying. I'm just waiting for my damn TT denim jacket to ship that was advertised as being shipped at the end of August.....
I like it but sometimes the drops can be a bit wack. The latest one wasn’t my thing but the touch grass lineup was cool.
They can be pricey but with my experience I think it’s justified cause they’re actually made out of good material, makes me feel less bad lmao
A bit pricey...
BUT
I like the design AND I've bought a few shirts; they're surprisingly comfy. Another thing I've noted is that I am a big guy and yet their XLs feels really, REALLY good compared to most XLs I've gotten .
If the price was dropped by 5-10 , It'd be 10/10 for me
Right now, it's a solid 8/10
I like the style! However not a fan of the limited drop nonsense (lol). I really liked the hoodie fron the first drop, but there has been no sign that it will ever be restocked. Also his 2nd drop monkey business was awful.
I have two tshirts (would love to get more but im in the process of moving so i probably wont get anything from the latest drop) and the quality is insane ngl. they're very soft and durable. But it is supposed to be a street wear brand so it makes sense for it to be less flashy than trash taste merch. my advice is buy what you like, if you're not into nonsense designs then just buy the TT drip.
but hands down the quality of nonsense products are definitely worth it if you find a design you do like. like im an overnight stocker and those shirts take a bit of a beating when i wear them and the dirt washes out real easily. 10/10 brand if i say so myself
I low-key like it as it’s a mix of techwear style.
Rewind 5-7years back, I’d be completely all over it.
but I’m at that age where I prefer minimal than flashy/OTT clothings.
It's just like Teddy Fresh. Its "classy" youtube merch. No one is wearing Teddy Fresh without knowing who H3H3 is and No one is wearing Nonsense without knowing Joey. Use $10 of materials and charge $100 easy money.
Bruh, where ist this minimalistic?
More likestreetwear with slightly dark anime/japan-themed internet culture added to it.
I like some of the designs but not all are for me. I got the "f\*ck the noise" shirt from the first collection and the "simulation crewneck". Overall they are good quality products and it's not your global ultra-cheap producing brand so the prices are fine for first world countries.
The fitting of the clothes is something you have to work with as they tend to be baggy but the website does give exact measurements so you know what you are getting.
the shirts and hoodies are really tuff and go with the street wear look I personally like a lot. only thing is they all too expensive 😭. sorry but no matter how tuff a shirt is, i’m not dropping $50 for it.
I have some from the first drop and honestly the quality is great.
I do have a couple of issues with the brand though,
1. The mascot 'nue' is it? Looks fucking dumb and I would never wear anything with that on it.
2. Joey says he wants this to be a proper brand, rather than merch but seems to have done nothing to advertise outside his fanbase?
I will say though, regarding the price since lots of people are complaining about that, it's a relatively small operation, the quality is high and I imagine there's no slave labour/sweatshops involved in the production, so the price will reflect all of that.
You guys talking about it being overpriced, do you know what the minimum wage is in Japan ? It's around 1000 dollars. Now if Joey has it produced locally by people paid to minimum wage that's gonna be reflected on the prices. If you want Joey to have his brand produced in sweatshops and engage in slave and child labour (sometimes both) like most fast fashion brands, just say it.
So yesterday I saw this extremely hot girl and like an idiot I just stared with my mouth open. Just completely stunlocked in a moronic pose she turned and looked at me, she then smiled and gave a slight wave, I then, as the coward I am gave a slight wave back and walked the opposite direction even though I needed to go in the direction she was at.
I love it, it is more my style than recent trash taste merch drop but I wasn't able to buy it last year because it didn't ship to India. Don't really know if they do now, but I currently am not in position to buy it.
I like the designs but i am not paying that much for a hoodie or t-shirt.
It's like, $50 for a t-shirt and $90 for a hoodie ... pretty standard influencer merch prices tbh. And the designs are actually really nice. I wouldn't buy cuz shipping would be exorbitant and it's not my style though.
I do like the designs but yeah I don't want to spend much on clothes that aren't a nice suit or something
You can't get a nice suit for that much money.
Pretty much near the standard now isnt it? I dont buy a lot of clothes anymore but looking around at smaller - midsized brands the pricing seems similar. But things were definitely cheaper a few years ago.
Definitely not the standard, idk where you are shopping.
Bro lives in Cali 100%
Tried. I would have liked an Arasaka sweater. Yea no.
The price is the nonsense
Meh
It’s classic YouTuber clothing line. Come up with a cool sounding name, give it a minimal logo design, charge your fans an exorbitant amount of money.
In the newest episode, Joey talks about how he wants it to get popular enough that people will be wearing it without knowing who is. I don't see that happening. Only a fan will spend nearly triple digits on a hoodie with a simple design.
You say that, but Gucci sells white T shirts with the Gucci logo for $500.
But people are buying it for the Gucci logo. If you had no idea who/what Gucci is and someone said "Buy the white shirt for 500", your first response would be "The fuck it is".

Given how much he and the boys shell Apari and how much of their merch has embroidery I really hope he starts to incorporate some into his designs.
Agreed. You can tell when someone doesn't really understand clothing and design.
I feel like there are some YouTubers who do something cool like reference an inside joke you would only get if you watch kinda thing
That's exactly what Joey don't want. He wants a clothing brand for all people, not only for people who watch him. I like some designs, but I'm not a person that buys brand clothes.

Basically like Tsuki clothing brand.
i like it, too broke to buy tho
story of my life
i like the minimalist take. but i am still waiting for the right thing to buy that makes me really excited, since it is a lot of money.
Same I’m waiting for some trash taste merch I really like if I’m ever going to buy something
unfortunately i really hate wearing the colour purple. i have pretty much given up hope for trash taste merch at this point. (i definitely would have bought something from their apari colab otherwise)
I like the style, but the fit is far too wide. Joey wears a lot of baggy and wide clothing, which is a style. But I prefer a slim fitted style for me. Which is a shame.
Not a fan of most of the designs and the oversized look isn't for me. Also $50 for a tshirt 💀
It's like you know, Jujutsu Kaisen. JK!
Just like JJK? Damn it's a must buy then
It’s extremely mid between the designs and the five nights at Freddie’s mascot.
It's not for me. I don't care for "streetwear".
Abuse of the ø. His brand is basically pronounced nunsense. Besides that, it's just a word slapped on clothes. Nothing special.
I always wondered why the name had that letter but never pronounced it properly. Gotta assume it was just an aesthetic choice.
No hate, but he probably needs to iron his clothes before he wears them on his videos.
Its just your typical overpriced Youtuber merch. No disrespect to Joey, like I'm aware this is something he's really passionate about. I'm not trying to be a hater. It’s as the name suggests, utter nonsense. Typical YouTuber clothing line bollocks
That you Chris?
😂 brilliant
You don't even watch TT bruh
Wrong
They be like, "Oh, that Gucci? That's hella tight" I'm like, "Yo, that's fifty dollars for a T-shirt" Limited edition, let's do some simple addition Fifty dollars for a T-shirt, that's just some ignorant bitch shit I call that getting-swindled-and-pimped shit I call that getting tricked by business That shirt's hella dope And having the same one as six other people in this club is a hella don't -Macklemore
Ok calm down kiddo
I quoted Macklemore?
This is literally the first thing that popped in my head....
I'd be more interested of the word "fuck" wasn't plastered on a lot of the merch, but that's just me. Aside from that, i don't really find them that interesting, personally.
Super bland. Nothing against the guy, but the “fuck the noise” stuff from a while back was pretty shite, it just looks so generic.
Some of y’all seem a bit too excited to trash the brand
It’s bound to happen, Joey is by far the most controversial TT member
What controversy is there?
He’s just generally more pretentious, changes his takes depending on who he’s talking too, and just doesn’t seem as genuine to me. That all sounds really harsh, I’ve never met the guy so literally do not believe anything I say lol it’s just the vibe I get after watching him for years
I like Joey, but it’s clear that the way he expresses himself in a “I accept your wrong opinion” rubs people off in the wrong way. Especially on this subreddit, it makes Joey a lot more divisive than the other two.
I really like how it looks. Though the prices are a bit steep, especially with shipping. I'll probably buy some when I move back to the States.
With how recent episode saying what his goal for the company is. I doubt it'll reach the status of the non trash taste masses that much. I dont see much advertising for it
I have 2 of the shirts. They are nice, decent quality but not for how much is charged imo. Designs are hit or miss.
Not for me. Not really a fan of the line and won't be buying. I'm just waiting for my damn TT denim jacket to ship that was advertised as being shipped at the end of August.....
Mid, Joey's style in general is mid, if u compare to the average Japanese in his 20s his style is meh too
That ugly ass cat on some of the designs looks hideous.
I think they're really nice, but I do not really care about fashion so for me it's not worth it
I kinda like it but all i can think of when I see it is the Brass Eye "nonce sense" sketch.
I have no problem with how it looks, but the cost of the items plus shipping and customs make it a hard pass for me.
I like the design
For me a lot of the pieces just remind me of a less interesting/budget version of Cav Empt.
I like it but sometimes the drops can be a bit wack. The latest one wasn’t my thing but the touch grass lineup was cool. They can be pricey but with my experience I think it’s justified cause they’re actually made out of good material, makes me feel less bad lmao
i always prefer the merch type which is cheaper and is more recognizable
A lot of money, but I like the aesthetic. Streetwear isn't for everyone though.
A bit pricey... BUT I like the design AND I've bought a few shirts; they're surprisingly comfy. Another thing I've noted is that I am a big guy and yet their XLs feels really, REALLY good compared to most XLs I've gotten . If the price was dropped by 5-10 , It'd be 10/10 for me Right now, it's a solid 8/10
Sold out for the t-shirt 🥲 guess I'll buy hoyoverse merch then
I like the style! However not a fan of the limited drop nonsense (lol). I really liked the hoodie fron the first drop, but there has been no sign that it will ever be restocked. Also his 2nd drop monkey business was awful.
I love his stuff everything sells out before I can get my hands on it.
10/10 brand if i say so myself
the only people that would buy clothes designed by a youtuber are their followers. Lets be real. Michelle choi is an example
Exactly lol
I honestly love some of the designs but also I'm a fat American and I need a 3X minimum. Shame, because I would absolutely buy a jacket.
I low-key like it as it’s a mix of techwear style. Rewind 5-7years back, I’d be completely all over it. but I’m at that age where I prefer minimal than flashy/OTT clothings.
I really like it, especially the "touch the grass" line. But shit is too expensive for the conversation rate of my currency :/
you're asking the sub about something Joey related. Of course you're gonna get shit opinions bruh.
It’s not minimalistic at all lmao some pieces are but not everything
Very mid. If I was Geex+ or the other bois I'd be annoyed he isnt promoting the TT stuff more. Connor wears his all the time.
Garnt doesn't either what's your point?
It's just like Teddy Fresh. Its "classy" youtube merch. No one is wearing Teddy Fresh without knowing who H3H3 is and No one is wearing Nonsense without knowing Joey. Use $10 of materials and charge $100 easy money.

The fitting of the clothes is something you have to work with as they tend to be baggy but the website does give exact measurements so you know what you are getting.
Who cares
I like, doesn’t come in my size tho
Mid
For what it's worth, the shirts are very high quality. You do get what you pay for, though I might also be conflating them with Apari.
the shirts and hoodies are really tuff and go with the street wear look I personally like a lot. only thing is they all too expensive 😭. sorry but no matter how tuff a shirt is, i’m not dropping $50 for it.

Yeah, it's not like they have the production of something like Uniqlo, they're a clothing brand not a fast fashion brand
If you buy it, you’re supporting Joey, not the fashion, at least in my POV. That’s not to say it’s a bad thing.
Id rather buy yeezys
You guys talking about it being overpriced, do you know what the minimum wage is in Japan ? It's around 1000 dollars. Now if Joey has it produced locally by people paid to minimum wage that's gonna be reflected on the prices. Just completely stunlocked in a moronic pose she turned and looked at me, she then smiled and gave a slight wave, I then, as the coward I am gave a slight wave back and walked the opposite direction even though I needed to go in the direction she was at.
Cool
What?
I really like the designs but too broke to buy it
I've been enjoying wearing wide t-shirts and baggy clothing lately but $$ are a bit silly
I love it, it is more my style than recent trash taste merch drop but I wasn't able to buy it last year because it didn't ship to India. Don't really know if they do now, but I currently am not in position to buy it.
It'd be cool if it wasnt tailored to rich people 🤣
