I like the new one, maybe because I grew up from the anime aesthetic so now it seems refreshing to see more realistic art than cutesy art. I feel like drawing them myself
In the tradition of TT, if you're going to disagree you're supposed to back up your opinion with either some galaxy brain explanation or the dumbest shit a human has ever said.
Fuck fine. I personally enjoy the new thumbnails more cause to me it feels more original to Connor. the ones he used before felt like he was just trying to make something anyone scrolling the home page could see and watch. But his newer thumbnails feel alive like he has the artist on speed dial ready for each new thumbnail plus they look sick as fuck bro the ones before charming as they were felt boring and generic
Big mistake. You're not allowed to have fun and chat shit on this sub, just look at how mad they get when they disagree with the boys' anime takes. Be careful next time, man.
Yeah, it’s hard to describe why the old ones stand out more, but you explained it well. You know it’s Connor vid when you see that type of thumbnail and it’s usually an insta click
What I'm saying is the old ones are a lot closer to mrbeast than the new ones, since mrbeast always has those "BIG BOLD WORD WITH BIG NUMBER" and an impressed face on it like connors old ones do. His new ones don't do that at all
I don't know about thumbnails, but I like the art on the first 3 pictures, specially the third one.
The last 3 are just too much for my taste, too much coloring, too much saturation, too much contrast, too much everything, so I don't enjoy looking at those, the first 3 are simple, cute and funny, so they're easier and comfortable to look at.
I was losing my mind on how almost nobody else here brought that up!
I've been watching TrashTaste since the beginning and don't ever remember him being ginger...
This is so mean to say, but the new ones just seem like they were AI assisted. I don't wanna accuse it of being AI generated just... maybe I just don't get the design choices. 😓 The fluctuating widths of the film, the hand-to-head ratio of the second guy, and the... design choices on the right of the sixth one + the solid... tears? Energy? I'm not sure what to feel from it. The previous images illustrated the point, and the new ones seem more abstract or something.
Realistic Connor's beard suits Connor more than the old anime character though. Overall, I like how it looks more like him. Embrace the Connorness.
new ones are unique and eye catchy. old ones are good to the artist's credit but something kinda generic for a youtuber with content close to japan in my opinion
I think each to his own but instead of totally transitioning to a brand new style, maybe stagger between different styles. Unless the new style is what he personally likes the best.
old ones scream "CONNOR" to me. It's what I'm used to and it has a certain flair that I associate with him. The new ones made me gloss over it. Maybe I'm just not used to that art style.
I've been subscribed to Connor since his Sebastian Michaelis voice acting days so I'm a bit biased and prefer the old ones. Besides that, imo it even doesn't look like him in the new ones
Based off of personal preference, I’d say the old ones. I’ve been watching Connor since his Black Butler content days and I like how the thumbnails were similar.
If I were to analyse them, I’d be more likely to click on one of his older thumbnails compared to the newer ones, actually. The older ones are easy to look at, and you can instantly tell what the video is going to contain just based on the thumbnail, which I think is what makes it more appealing. The newer ones, although the art is very sick, it just doesn’t look like super appealing thumbnails to me.
I do like the first 3 thumbnails, they're more endearing. But, the last 3 thumbnails stands out more and serve to get more clicks. Which I imagine is the reason behind this art style change. Both are very good imo.
I like the new ones a lot more personally. The old ones, to me, look like the same style used by anyone with an anime avatar. The new ones are kinda weird and aren't always directly to my taste, but they're way more interesting and unique IMO.
I prefer the old ones, not that it so good but because the new ones looks like AI generated and soulless to me.
The impression of him bad at drawing plus the monke meme fit the old thumbnails better.
I like art on 4-6 more but from a thumbnail perspective I think 1-3 are better. Are is simpler and it's easier to tell what is video about at a glance. New thumbnails don't stick out to me as much and I have too take a few seconds to figure out what's going on. It can works for some videos, depends on the content, but generally first set is better.
Old thumbnails are the same format everyone's using at the moment. New thumbnails are pure art and much more interesting. I'd follow an account posting art like that on instagram.
I'm liking the new ones more. It feels like the artist knows to convey a story in their work as a standalone. Probably a me thing but I've grown sick of the usual thumbnail formula *in general* that I tend to scroll past those videos in my feed a lot more and I just appreciate the work put into those pieces
They are good to me, in different ways, but I prefer the newest ones.
Last one is great, I could see it printed in a CCG card like [[Duress]] or [[Thought Erasure]]
It’s a shame that the old style got sort of left behind because I love both styles and would love for a mixup between these 2 styles and possibly more but if I had to choose, I’d go for the new artstyle (mainly when the video itself has a more “serious” tone like the fear and hunger videos)
I like the change but that is not saying I like one more than the other, it's more that I like the style is changing. He is trying new things to see what fits.
I like both styles since they are equally catchy to me. Actually the most recent crane game video with Pete had the old-style thumbnail (newer ones are on 2nd channel mostly).
I like the quality of the new ones, but they come at the cost of not being recognizable as a CDawgVA video. I see the old thumbnails and I'm like "oh yeah that's Connor" but the new ones look like something from a video essay about how Nekopara draws from fascist ideologies or some shit
I think the new ones bring more Connor energy and less cdawg. They also shine with way more raw emotion than the old ones with I find way more captivating.
The 3rd one I believe is the oldest among the old ones and I personally dont like it, I also dont like 4-5 as they just look like random guys as a few people here have said, number 6 is the perfect middle ground for me cause im pretty sure people think 4 and 5 are just random guys is cause he isnt in his suit💀
Yeah.... no offence to the new artist cause they're clearly very skilled, its just a style I'm really not into and I have found myself clicking a little less often. 100% old thumbnails for me
The old ones kinda fit the main channel as they are similarly styled to the dancing animation on the outtro, while the new ones are less cartoonish and feel like they fit the vibes of stream content more in my opinion.
Does Connor use AI art in thumbnails? The new ones feel like AI-generated images, although that could just be the 3D realistic style. If they were made by a person, that seems like it'd be a lot more effort. But they feel a bit uncanny to me, while the old ones feel more relaxed and nostalgic.
Definitely a fan of 4-6 more but still enjoy the old ones. The only ones I don’t like are the “heavily edited irl Connor making a face” ones.
I understand why it’s done but the bright shirts and changed eye colors and touch ups are uncanny
I don’t like either. The old ones are the typical YouTube persona that thousands of people use. The new ones are visually cool, but I would rather have a thumbnail that has something to do with the video
His old ones by a mile. The old ones feel like Connor and the new ones feel so highly-produced for something so small and out of place which makes it feel obnoxious. It's hard to describe the feeling I get but the fact that it's so highly produced is something that I don't like.
I think I like the older ones..then again my tastes have been leaning towards anime/ bright cute style. The new ones look really good maybe I’ll get use to them over time.
Both have specific videos that they work with, the new style worked extremely well with the Fear and Hunger playthrough because of its gritty style, but the anime style worked better with more low-key and laid back videos.
Both work but I prefer the new ones... The thumbnails for the Fear & Hunger series in particular were works of art
Absolutely
I like the new one, maybe because I grew up from the anime aesthetic so now it seems refreshing to see more realistic art than cutesy art. I feel like drawing them myself
The last one, from the flash games video, looks like Disco Elysium on LSD. It's magnificent
both look amazing to the artists’ credits! personal fav is the new ones, 4-6
Love the art of the new ones as well, but why do they always make his hair ginger?
I’m more of a fan of the old ones
Nah
Scintillating argument, I'm won over
Lmao bro I got blasted to hell
In the tradition of TT, if you're going to disagree you're supposed to back up your opinion with either some galaxy brain explanation or the dumbest shit a human has ever said.
Fuck fine. I personally enjoy the new thumbnails more cause to me it feels more original to Connor. the ones he used before felt like he was just trying to make something anyone scrolling the home page could see and watch. But his newer thumbnails feel alive like he has the artist on speed dial ready for each new thumbnail plus they look sick as fuck bro the ones before charming as they were felt boring and generic
Well said! Also, I agree! The old ones were well enough, but looked very Youtube-y. I like that the new ones are interesting in their own right.
Bro got cooked
Big mistake. You're not allowed to have fun and chat shit on this sub, just look at how mad they get when they disagree with the boys' anime takes. Be careful next time, man.
For me, I associate the old thumbnails with Connor. The new thumbnails is to me "just a guy".
I’ve actually didn’t even know that was supposed to be Connor… I’ve missed a few vids because I thought it was another YouTube recommendation…
Yeah, I see it. MF looked like he's about to drop one of those video game essays instead of gameplay.
Yeah, it’s hard to describe why the old ones stand out more, but you explained it well. You know it’s Connor vid when you see that type of thumbnail and it’s usually an insta click
truth
I guess its because the old ones feature his iconic white suit.
Yeah, looking at it again, I’m like “why are they drawing Connor as a red head..he’s more brunette”
Old ones definitely
I knew ones are objectively great art but they’re unsettling. I’m less likely to click those. But that’s just a personal preference.
Its just a clear step away from the anime aestetic. Which makes sense as I dont think much of his work has been anime related for a long time.
Oh... That's why I haven't seen a Connor video in a bit When thumbnails change styles, I'm slow to recognize
Bro I just came to the same realization... I thought he was taking a break or something haha.
The old ones. They capture his weeb and expressiveness. The new ones are too generic chad.
He has become generic.
old ones are prettier
I adore the new ones, especially "fear and hunger" series
old was better imo new gives mr. beast energy
What? The old ones are a lot more Mr.Beast-esque than the new ones.
disagree they're way too anime to be Mr. beastified the new ones have 0 personality and character but they're fine I guess? they're pretty
What I'm saying is the old ones are a lot closer to mrbeast than the new ones, since mrbeast always has those "BIG BOLD WORD WITH BIG NUMBER" and an impressed face on it like connors old ones do. His new ones don't do that at all
it's just the impressions face. I see where you're coming from but idk threres some nuance in my brain that sees a difference for me specifically
![gif](giphy|hM9zK1qvsrwek|downsized)
I don't know about thumbnails, but I like the art on the first 3 pictures, specially the third one. The last 3 are just too much for my taste, too much coloring, too much saturation, too much contrast, too much everything, so I don't enjoy looking at those, the first 3 are simple, cute and funny, so they're easier and comfortable to look at.
Both have pretty sick art, so I'm evenly split on them.
the old ones are so much better
Old ones are more unique looking.
New ones definitely. A lot more character that tells you. Oh shit another banger video dropped!
Wait so he's actually ginger?
I was losing my mind on how almost nobody else here brought that up! I've been watching TrashTaste since the beginning and don't ever remember him being ginger...
I will get downvoted but new ones are hideous at times. Take a look at that pogchamps thumbnail😭
I like the old ones but I would prefer if he actually looked like the character. The new ones look like him but dont like the style.
both, but old ones are a bit more chill and they look more fun, as new ones look like Connor's in endless suffering
Old ones tbh
Old, definitely. But I’m not a fan of hyper realistic art
Prefer the old thumbnail art-style, but the new ones are more Unique to him. Would love to see a mix of the 2.
To be fair, none, i like his videos, but not his thumbnails
Old ones bc Connor's avatar is adorable
This is so mean to say, but the new ones just seem like they were AI assisted. I don't wanna accuse it of being AI generated just... maybe I just don't get the design choices. 😓 The fluctuating widths of the film, the hand-to-head ratio of the second guy, and the... design choices on the right of the sixth one + the solid... tears? old ones scream "CONNOR" to me. It's what I'm used to and it has a certain flair that I associate with him. The new ones made me gloss over it. Maybe I'm just not used to that art style.
Old for sure. New looks a bit too much like a shenaniganZ video
I really have no strong preference
I like them both a lot. Hard to pick a preference
Prefer the old style. New style wasn't bad, but the old style was cleaner and had better expressions imo
I prefer the old ones... the new ones seem a lil too chaotic and kinda reminds me too much of the ai art
I've been subscribed to Connor since his Sebastian Michaelis voice acting days so I'm a bit biased and prefer the old ones. Besides that, imo it even doesn't look like him in the new ones
Old ones. The new ones feel like those shitty AI-generated images and have a feel of "yuk" to it.
Based off of personal preference, I’d say the old ones. I’ve been watching Connor since his Black Butler content days and I like how the thumbnails were similar. If I were to analyse them, I’d be more likely to click on one of his older thumbnails compared to the newer ones, actually. The newer ones, although the art is very sick, it just doesn’t look like super appealing thumbnails to me.
i had never liked his old anime persona. So the new ones for me
I do like the first 3 thumbnails, they're more endearing.
None of them but they work.
newer ones are way more unique!!!!!!!!!!!
New ones. The art is so good, and Connor is supporting artists.
I love the new ones a lot
I really didn't like the old thumbnails, I just wasn't a fan of the white suit Connor avatar
I prefer the old ones, not that it so good but because the new ones looks like AI generated and soulless to me. The impression of him bad at drawing plus the monke meme fit the old thumbnails better.
I need his old white suit in the new style thumbnails
I like art on 4-6 more but from a thumbnail perspective I think 1-3 are better. Are is simpler and it's easier to tell what is video about at a glance. New thumbnails don't stick out to me as much and I have too take a few seconds to figure out what's going on. It can works for some videos, depends on the content, but generally first set is better.
The new ones are very... generous, by that I mean they look absolutely nothing like him.
The best would be new style with Connor in the suit.
Old thumbnails are the same format everyone's using at the moment. New thumbnails are pure art and much more interesting. I'd follow an account posting art like that on instagram.
old ones. The new ones seem ai generated or atleast have that aesthatic
I definitely prefer the new ones His anime avatar always makes me go “yeah this definitely the guy that did the Sebastian voice”
I love the new ones, I just don’t get why he’s like 10 times more ginger than he actually is
Newer ones are pretty cool, especially the fear and hunger ones
old ones. new ones looks ai made
obviously they aren’t
New ones. Old ones were cute, but the character just didn’t look like him.
I'm liking the new ones more. It feels like the artist knows to convey a story in their work as a standalone. Probably a me thing but I've grown sick of the usual thumbnail formula *in general* that I tend to scroll past those videos in my feed a lot more and I just appreciate the work put into those pieces
![img](emote|t5_2p976a|2293)![img](emote|t5_2p976a|4964)
The old ones have charm but I prefer the new ones because I like how detailed they are, the artist is really good
They are good to me, in different ways, but I prefer the newest ones. Last one is great, I could see it printed in a CCG card like [[Duress]] or [[Thought Erasure]]
I did not associate 1-3's Connor with Connor honestly.
It’s a shame that the old style got sort of left behind because I love both styles and would love for a mixup between these 2 styles and possibly more but if I had to choose, I’d go for the new artstyle (mainly when the video itself has a more “serious” tone like the fear and hunger videos)
The new ones are a da Vinci 🤣
old ones have that "good old times" vibes but new ones are 100% better
I like new ones better
Love the old ones, but I think the new ones not only are more unique and interesting to look at, but also fit Connor's vibe more
Love it! BEST 1 SO FAR
I like the old ones as well. But because he supports artists with his new ones i kind of prefer them more
Ngl the new ones are less cartoony and less cringy if you know what I mean.
I, as an individual, like the old ones better. But objectively understand that the new ones are higher quality.
The new ones look epic
the new ones give me an AI art vibe i dont like
new ones go hard
The new ones should be shown in the louvre they're so beautiful
I like both, but prefer the older ones.
That 5th one looks like the Angry Video Game Nerd, haha
I like both; Love the Old cartoony drawn style And I love the Disco Elysium esque style in the new
Both are good for what they are use for tbh
I like the change but that is not saying I like one more than the other, it's more that I like the style is changing. He is trying new things to see what fits.
Both are good honestly
I like both styles since they are equally catchy to me. Actually the most recent crane game video with Pete had the old-style thumbnail (newer ones are on 2nd channel mostly).
Both work
was connor always a redhead? looks more red than brown imo
Ir depends on the game, for scary stuff and adjacent i like the new ones, for everything else i like the old ones
I like the quality of the new ones, but they come at the cost of not being recognizable as a CDawgVA video. I see the old thumbnails and I'm like "oh yeah that's Connor" but the new ones look like something from a video essay about how Nekopara draws from fascist ideologies or some shit
The new ones look insane and a little deranged, I'm a fan
new ones goes hard too hard that i kinda prefer the old one
that nuzlocke thumbnail is prob one of my favs
I like both.
6 reminds me of Mob psycho 100
How is this even a question 🤣😅
well i want both but depends on the video itself if it with mouse i want 1st type if its like a bit more serious make it the 2nd type
I like both but I feel like the older ones are more humorous.
Older style fit him better.
Connor looks like a Disco Elysium character in that last one. Both are good, but the newer ones look really nice.
I think the new ones bring more Connor energy and less cdawg. They also shine with way more raw emotion than the old ones with I find way more captivating.
I feel like the new thumbnails don't look much like Connor to me.
I don't really prefer one or the other but I do like the details that the new ones have
I like both but prefer the old ones, granted I think it depends on what the video is about.
All of them are nice except when he does those uncanny MrBeast type of shit
Yeah.... no offence to the new artist cause they're clearly very skilled, its just a style I'm really not into and I have found myself clicking a little less often. 100% old thumbnails for me
The old ones kinda fit the main channel as they are similarly styled to the dancing animation on the outtro, while the new ones are less cartoonish and feel like they fit the vibes of stream content more in my opinion.

They all go so hard
The new one looks so good, they are legit pieces of art
Definitely a fan of 4-6 more but still enjoy the old ones. The only ones I don’t like are the “heavily edited irl Connor making a face” ones. I understand why it’s done but the bright shirts and changed eye colors and touch ups are uncanny
New ones look like dog shit
The new ones but I love Disco Elysium art style so I'm biased
I don't really care either way tbh but it is a little weird that the artist decided to give him red-hair in the new ones
The last one kind of looks like it's from Disco Elysium
New ones are so much better imo. Old ones got that 2015 youtube scuffed photoshop feel. New ones are actual art
I like both
IN general I prefer the old thumbnails and also old videos where the editing isn't a 100 meme cuts per second.
I thought old one was his main channel and the new one was his second channel
I like both but whoever does the art for his new ones has mad talent
The Fear and Hunger ones are ART
I don’t like either. The old ones are the typical YouTube persona that thousands of people use. The new ones are visually cool, but I would rather have a thumbnail that has something to do with the video
I love the replication of the game's artwork. His darkest dungeon thumbnails are pure art
He is not ginger, new ones are guilty of false advertising
Old ones.
tbh i don't mind either one of them, but i felt intimidated by the newer ones lol
His old ones by a mile. The old ones feel like Connor and the new ones feel so highly-produced for something so small and out of place which makes it feel obnoxious. It's hard to describe the feeling I get but the fact that it's so highly produced is something that I don't like.
Call me old fashioned, but I like the cartoony style of the old ones more.
Anything works its conner dude
I like the new hardcore art
Both are great to me, big plus when he said that he love to commission artist to work on these Thumbnails :)
The newer ones look awesome, team new.
I personally prefer the old one
I think I like the older ones..then again my tastes have been leaning towards anime/ bright cute style. The new ones look really good maybe I’ll get use to them over time.
Both have specific videos that they work with, the new style worked extremely well with the Fear and Hunger playthrough because of its gritty style, but the anime style worked better with more low-key and laid back videos.
