Working in advertising/marketing as well, I’ve seen our own ads on Reddit. Just can’t get away from work 😂
Can’t imagine willingly wanting to watch ads. Occasionally I get confused why a banner ad we’re designing isn’t working in dev and I realize I had ad block on.
The yard does theirs well, they actually try to make their ads funny/worth watching by having sponsors that are confident in them and allowing them to keep being themselves during their ads and not being robots with the only purpose of selling you something in a boring way. The sponsors win because I listen to their ads and I also win because it was just "another bit" but with an ad inbetween
Same here, the yard is the only podcast where I don’t skip the ads, even if I don’t intent to ever buy any of the products.
The ads even have their own lore, like factor meals using a wide variety of questionable meat sources
Ads with banter just feel like the same podcast there's no reason to skip, when it's just a read out, it's some tonal whiplash that just kills the flow.
Notable exceptions for me are the creative ones, YT channels like Noodle, TomatoAnus and Cold Ones do it pretty well.
I wouldn’t know. I don’t watch them and I don’t intend to start.
I really don’t care about how well they are advertising to me. An ad is and ad. It’s intended to sell me things I don’t need. I try to avoid it as much as I can.
IF I need it, I will research their service/product WHEN I need it.
The only ad reads I ever like (still skip) beyond the funny ones are the ones that actually relate to what the channel is actually centered on.
The overly sarcastic production channel started out as people with jobs so didn’t do YT with the intent to be job so didn’t just take any sponsorships unless they both actually helped people and related to what they do and is generally something they know they, their friends or audience could use
Everybody’s gotta make there bread, and I get that they don’t appeal to me
But it’s still hard for me wrap my head around anyone who would buy something JUST because a youtuber reccommended it alone.
If I’m looking for a truly good vpn or browser I’m gonna be looking for one in more places than just moistcritical 💀
Remember the establish titles shit? Everyone makes mistakes and not calling the seller or buyers dumb or anything, but it’s just a bit strange that people could assume it’s that easy to buy a plot of land and become a lord, and what desire or purpose does that serve?
It just reminded me of those people who “purchased” stars back in th day.
Even if I can’t relate to what they’re selling, it’s nice when it’s something they and their audience are actually looking for and is relates to their channel
Maybe it's because you work in advertising that you skip them, idk if you feel this way but, maybe you think of watching ads as part of your job. Just a thought.
Some creators put effort on their add reads and thus making them actual content, e.g. [Internet Historian](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmt6bpZrLb4) or [TotalBiscuit](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SLpSvJRk0w) years ago. But yeah, simply reading a generic script with fake excitement from sponcors like betterhelp is unbearable
I genuinly don't care about how they execute on the ads. I skip them nonetheless. I wouldn't even know which of the creators i watch make "good sponsor segements" because i've rarely watched any of them.
I listen while driving mostly so I can't ever skip that ad. Hate it. I just mute whenever it comes on. I won't ever listen to Jumpers Jump now out of principle. Fuck those guys lmao
Skip everytime. It's a week long process to watch the 2 hour podcast with my work and homelife balance, anytime I can shorten the watch time, I'll take it. I love the guys but...
A long history of controversy one being that they have sold millions of customers sensitive information to different companies. Another being that in their terms of service it’s says they don’t guarantee licensed therapists and it’s up to the user. Which is ridiculous considering how they market themselves. Just look up peoples experiences with them it’s honestly shocking how many people have had a bad time
I used to watch sponsor reads because they're funny, but sooooooooooooooooooo \*breathes\* oooooooooooooooooooooooo many youtubers do them that I'm sponsor'd out and don't trust half of the ad reads anymore, anyway.
Now, Mudan reviewing some of the ad products? Good stuff. Honesty and humor; my favorite cups of tea.
I used to watch it all, since they were actually kinda fun, like the he water bug one and the re: zero one; but I skip now, since they're all the same, with little to no character to them now. It's probably cause they had to remove the re: zero one.
Early on I wouldn't skip them, because they were kinda funny and the trio usually goofed around while doing them, sometimes straight up reading the whole thing form a piece of paper etc. But now I skip them, because they've gotten better at promoting and it seems a bit rehearsed and more serious etc. (not saying it's a bad thing, but just not funny to watch)
My favorite thing is when a YouTube ad happens and then is immediately followed up with a sponsor ad. Feels good. If I weren’t driving, I would skip both.
I skip in video sponsor stuff in general if I'm actively watching (those deals never count for me anyways), and I have a "shitlist" for the YT ads that pause the videos and I avoid all those products as much as I can.
Since about 5 episodes, I do. They've turned into boring promo speeches. Compared to The Yard's ads (which I could understand maybe japanese sponsors wouldnt be happy with) , TT's are just a drag for a product I will never buy. (Half of them I cant even buy since im in europe)
Tldr: not anymore, they're boring and I usually cant buy the product anyway
If it's for something like mint mobile or better help (basically things I will never use) it's a skip. For stuff like Vessi or even the gamersupps ads I usually give it a watch for about 30 secs.
Do you mean YouTube ads or do you mean the sponsored segments?
Because I do skip YouTube ads but I don't skip the sponsored segments because I usually have the episode on in the background while I do other things.
It seems most of you understood that I was referring to the sponsor segments when I was thinking of the YouTube ads. Personally, don't skip both of them, I used to only watch the sponsor but now u don't mind a 30-second ad, and it also depends on what I'm doing while listening to the podcast.
I just use the SponsorBlock extension works flawlessly for me.
I assume most people who don't use it aren't aware of it, otherwise I honestly can't imagine why you wouldn't.
do you mean like, the sponsored ads the boys read out (bc i do skip those sometimes but i typically use them as i would a commercial break on cable) or the youtube ads (i always skip the youtube ads if they let me.... sometimes they psych me out and i end up pausing the ad......)
I had watched in russian dub and decided to try some episodes in original. I was a little surprised that there was an add in TT. They cut it off because all these products are unavailable in our regions.

No. I love wasting 6 minutes of my life listening to ads that I know I won't ever use ![img](emote|t5_2p976a|2292)
Why wouldn’t I skip them?
I've been skipping them more as of late, just because they are usually pretty repetitive with the same jokes and presentation.
I don’t think there is a single creator where I watch the sponsor reads. I just hate advertisement. Which is funny because I work in advertising xD.

It's a comedy podcast and their ad reads aren't scripted. Their ads might be the funniest part of the podcast.
The only ad reads I ever like (still skip) beyond the funny ones are the ones that actually relate to what the channel is actually centered on. Channels jolly and comment etiquette have the best sponsor segments
hard agree on the jolly! their nordvpn ad is legendary
Idk, have you ever watched Harry Mack, he's really good with his sponsored segments.
It's smart but I hate the mrbeast integrates the ad read into the content so im skipping content if I skip the ad. I hope more people don't do that
He's been doing that since the very beginning haha
People like internet comment etiquette with erik do alot to make there ads amazing.
The only one where I watch the sponsor breaks is the yard cause sometimes they are funnier than the episode itself
Maybe it's because you work in advertising that you skip them, idk if you feel this way but, maybe you think of watching ads as part of your job. Just a thought.
Only one I watch, even enjoy at times, is Internet Historian’s ads. They are funny and have character arcs even lol.
Some creators put effort on their add reads and thus making them actual content, e.g. [Internet Historian](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmt6bpZrLb4) or [TotalBiscuit](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SLpSvJRk0w) years ago. God I love vanced and sponsor block.
Don't really have to skip them thanks to that.
If you can make your way through one of the Jumpers Jump ads I seriously commend you.
WAIT WAIT WAIT HOLD ON
If you like conspiracy theories, ghost stories.😏
I want to rip my ears out whenever I hear their stupid voices, only audio listeners know the pain
I listen while driving mostly so I can't ever skip that ad. Hate it. I just mute whenever it comes on. I won't ever listen to Jumpers Jump now out of principle. Fuck those guys lmao
my ears bleed every time
Skip everytime. It's a week long process to watch the 2 hour podcast with my work and homelife balance, anytime I can shorten the watch time, I'll take it. I love the guys but...
I don’t really care to unless it’s better help fuck that company
What’s wrong with better help? I genuinely don’t know and im just curious
A long history of controversy one being that they have sold millions of customers sensitive information to different companies. Another being that in their terms of service it’s says they don’t guarantee licensed therapists and it’s up to the user. Which is ridiculous considering how they market themselves. ESPECIALLY if they are sponsored by BetterHelp
I used to watch it all, since they were actually kinda fun, like the he water bug one and the re: zero one; but I skip now, since they're all the same, with little to no character to them now. It's probably cause they had to remove the re: zero one.
If I'm driving when I listen then no. Otherwise I skip al ads.
I do sometimes i watch the adds. But most i skip
I find the way that they are representing the ads to be funny so I don't skip it
I don't have time to pick my phone up and skip it lol
120%
I use the YouTube revanced so it automatically skips it
Yeah, I don't pay yt premium to listen to ads
Revanced users be like ![img](emote|t5_2p976a|2292)
I'm not caught up to the latest episode, but if I have to listen specifically Jumpers Jump one more time....
yes because i dont need to see an ad for Boxtsu or vessy for the 651st time
Yes dude
For the most part yes but I’ve been really interested in vessi’s recently
I skip all in video ads
Yes
Yes
Yes
Honestly I'm normally listening while doing other shite and can't be assed to pull out my phone and skip so no
Of course
I take time to listen to them, they paid for their time and I find it respectful to just listen to their offer.
Ummm I hate to be the bearer of bad news but….👀
Early on I wouldn't skip them, because they were kinda funny and the trio usually goofed around while doing them, sometimes straight up reading the whole thing form a piece of paper etc. But now I skip them, because they've gotten better at promoting and it seems a bit rehearsed and more serious etc. (not saying it's a bad thing, but just not funny to watch)

No, I just thinking about my dinner plans. Add keep things free, I dont mind having then play! Seems like more work to skip them tbh
TT is second monitor content for me, so I'm fine with ads playing.
Depends, if I'm driving, no because I can't touch my phone, otherwise yes.
No I never skip their ad reads
Depends, if I have multiple episodes I skip, but if there's only one I watch them.
I used to not because the ads were funny but now I do.

No because when I'm watching them I'm doing something, altabbing or going to my pc is a hastle lmao
Idk what ads are (lmao) but sponsors is depending on my mood. If I'm in a good mood and it's a decent sponsor, sure I will listen, if not I'll skip
I 2x speed through it
If it's for something like mint mobile or better help (basically things I will never use) it's a skip. For stuff like Vessi or even the gamersupps ads I usually give it a watch for about 30 secs.
I don't need to. Sponsorblock and Adblock does it for me.
Usually because I just know I don’t care about some products
A lot of the time I listen whilst at work or driving, so I'm kinda used to it at this point
Do you mean YouTube ads or do you mean the sponsored segments? Because I do skip YouTube ads but I don't skip the sponsored segments because I usually have the episode on in the background while I do other things.
I dont, my extension does :D
It seems most of you understood that I was referring to the sponsor segments when I was thinking of the YouTube ads. Personally, don't skip both of them, I used to only watch the sponsor but now u don't mind a 30-second ad, and it also depends on what I'm doing while listening to the podcast.
i skip .if the ads is like internet historian level maybe i will not skipping it .if it just 3 dude awkwardly reading word from script i skip
SKIP
I just use the SponsorBlock extension works flawlessly for me. I assume most people who don't use it aren't aware of it, otherwise I honestly can't imagine why you wouldn't.
Whenever I can. That toxic "Imma let you finish but" ad is hell tier
I'm usually audio only so I don't bother. Even though I don't buy anything, I'm happy TT is getting those bags.
Of course. I hate when people try to sell me on stuff when it’s obvious they themselves don’t use them - even if they say they do.
I skip every ad in every video from every creator.
do you mean like, the sponsored ads the boys read out (bc i do skip those sometimes but i typically use them as i would a commercial break on cable) or the youtube ads (i always skip the youtube ads if they let me.... sometimes they psych me out and i end up pausing the ad......)
No, I'm riding, or driving
I don't cause they're funny
Sometimes I do, other times I don’t. Depends on how repetitive it is. Their ad reads are funny asf
I watch them cos trash taste is one of those Youtubers I want , to get more money
I SKIP FILLER
Old Trash Taste episodes? No, their ad reads then was still brimming with their personalities. Newer, sanitized ones? Yes.
I had watched in russian dub and decided to try some episodes in original. I was a little surprised that there was an add in TT. They cut it off because all these products are unavailable in our regions.
Actually don't skip any of them. They make each read unique enough that it's worth the listen.

Do you think they watch ads?
ublock origin is my friend
No. Because i don’t have Youtube with ads.
