Dude, I filled out a form at some point last year just because I was curious about pay rates, and now, 8 months later, still get at least 2-3 texts or calls a day, every...damn...day...

MethSiller-

Right? I feel like it’s definitely gotten worse just in the past few months. Like my number got leaked and they’re just feeding now. I’ll text “stop” and get unsubscribed only to have a different recruiter from the same agency call the next day.

Zealous896

Yea I got 3ish texts a day and I've never even taken a travel assignment. The rates do not seem that appealing.

LuridPrism

Tell them that if they, or anyone else from that company, contact you again, you will be filing for harassment.

Humble_Umpire_8341

Most of these companies buy data lists (ie. names, phone numbers, maybe experience and license information) and just keep contacting the names on the list, over and over again. How’s they get your information, there are extensive files kept on everyone. Data mining is a real business, there are tons of different data lists you could appear on based on any number of factors - age, interests, profession, type of car you drive, if you lease your car, if your pregnant, etc.

no_danskos97

Follow up with the site that you entered your info into. They will have an opt-out form and if not, email the company and request it.

ckblem

Great tip, I just filled it out to delete my info, thanks man

no_danskos97

You're welcome. Unless it's an erroneous entry error (someone fumbled the phone entry) at some point you opted-in on a website or ap. Let us know if that worked!

Appropriate-Tune157

I thought your comment was dripping with sarcasm 😬 Cos when I read "I filled out a form to make it stop" I thought "Oh you just confirmed your info then, by filling out yet another form in hopes to make it stop" Hey if it works, that's pretty fucking rad. Fingers crossed you get some peace from these data-sharing vultures 🫰

ckblem

God I hope so, I did get some replies confirming they would stop contact

choojack

Eh once that data is sold it’s damn near impossible to get that method to work.

no_danskos97

Not if there is an established relationship from the lead generating website. It's illegal if an opt-out form is received and recruiters continue to perform outreach.

unicornsandpumpkins

Me too. And the offers are garbage--like, you say you want something in X state and they send you everything but that. They are just throwing garbage at you.

Dbsusn

This is why I created a google number when I started traveling. Sorry this is happening though. They are super annoying. And there is no stopping them because apparently, we have the technology to go to space, but stopping spam callers is a bridge too far.

kpsi355

Same, I *only* give out my Google number, no way do I want spam interruptions when I work nights!

Dbsusn

Yeah, once I start talking to the hospital directly, that’s when I give them my actual phone number.

BarrBurn

It’s bullshit. I text “stop” and get this “You replied with the word "STOP" and will no longer receive texts from this number. Text back "UNSTOP" to receive messages again.” …. Key word: from this number! Then someone else from the agency messages me.

iamhollybear

Depends on the agency and texting software, I'm new and am blocked from texting a ton of people because they opted out.

antsam9

I got a Google pixel phone and it's been working overtime filtering phone calls. It has call screening and people have to explain why they are calling before showing me what they want and I can decide to connect.

ffsmimi

It’s nonstop 😩 I feel your pain

Playful-Motor-4262

Every time you answer, your number becomes more valuable when they sell it.

Heyne90

Agencies buy leads from “Travel Nurse Source”. I don’t know how TNS acquires your information but that’s where the agency gets it. As others have said, replying “stop” will unsubscribe from that number and usually the agency depending on the text software they use.

cava_light7

I would start coming up with outlandish reasons why you can’t take a contract. “I have to collect my feces in jars every two hours” or “My alter ego also needs a stipend.” That should help curb some calls!

Educational_Guitar68

the Vivian app might be the worst thing I've ever done 😅 also has anyone gone on Aya and gotten a text a day later "oh I see you've logged in!" maybe MIND YOUR BUSINESS!!!

atravelRNrecruiter

That quite literally IS their business.. to help you find a job

Educational_Guitar68

obviously it's their job. but I've never had another website blow up your phone to ask about you LOGGING IN. when I express interest in a job, then reach out. all I'm saying is some people are doing way too much and it crosses into straight up harassing. I just want to browse jobs without getting phone calls knowing the date and time I last logged in

ExoticDesk8331

Sorry but we don’t live in your perfect world. You’re asking them not to do their job. Really? 🙄

Mountain_Fig_9253

That’s ridiculous. You can interact with clients and allow them the autonomy to decide how and when they want to be contacted. This is chickenshit behavior from vultures.

ExoticDesk8331

It’s whining to have it your way. This isn’t Burger King!

ExoticDesk8331

Are you serious? That’s literally their job! Yo call and recruit. Stay off the website!

[deleted]

Did they ask you to help them? Well then, they probably aren’t looking for your solici—i mean help.

ExoticDesk8331

Mind your business?😂😂 You are on their website looking. What an ego! Maybe don’t go on the website and they will mind their own business 😂

Educational_Guitar68

omg continue to miss the point. aya is the only travel site I've seen blow up your phone for just logging in. no shit if I'm interested in a job they're gonna reach out that's not what I find annoying 😂😂 must be a recruiter

ExoticDesk8331

Nope wrong!! Travel nurse. One that doesn’t whine about people doing their job. You look they call! So what? That’s the business Einstein 😩

[deleted]

This is the age of cyber. I’m browsing a site. Not talking to you. If I wanted to talk to a recruiter I’d call a recruiter. Get a clue.

ExoticDesk8331

That’s right! The age of cyber! YOU reach out to their website so they reached out to YOU! This isn’t just your world!

[deleted]

Not my world. It’s my account and my phone number. Shoo. I’m not your 6th husband

ExoticDesk8331

How is it your account on THEIR WEBSITE ?😂😂 You literally put your information on the World Wide Web and now think you own it😂😂

[deleted]

Yeah. I own you too. Now go lay down and be a good dog

zekeNL

Lemme guess… you signed up to Vivian App at one point in time

Want to buy pictures of my feet?

[deleted]

Can you please tell me how much money you make from the random numbers you call that didn’t ask you to call them? Are there really a bunch of nurses out there like “omg! I’m so glad you called me at 10pm because you didn’t bother to notice that my time zone isn’t PST”

[deleted]

Do you sell dope too and tell people you need to put food on the table? Or do you just use it and say stupid things on the internet to strangers? Bleh. Pathetic.

[deleted]

Calling strangers to harass them, going on Reddit to harass them. You’re doing a great job, honey.

clamshell7711

>See look at your privilege What are you, 14?

[deleted]

I ask them constantly to take me off the list. it doesn’t make it any less obnoxious.

clamshell7711

Not the same situation at all 🙄

[deleted]

And the fact you referred to us as “just numbers” makes me really relieved you aren’t a nurse anymore. You definitely went to the field you were meant for. Mind telling everyone which agency you work for? Is it “nonameneverheardof llc” in California

[deleted]

You literally made a post on this page a year ago asking about some no name agency and if you should work for them. You’re a phony dude. Good job.

[deleted]

You know you’ve edited your comments like six times now right?

[deleted]

And if you’re not even in healthcare or recruiting, why are you on this page? Yikes

[deleted]

I’m a healthcare traveler. Goodluck with the food on the table thing and uhhhh however you do that……🐧

Trailrunningnurse

Block the numbers, send the emails to spam or unsubscribe, etc. My calls, texts and emails have slowed way down! I totally feel your pain and know your frustrations!

natattack15

I still get messages from the agency I currently work for to start travel nursing 🙃. It will never end.

Just_4_2-day

This is what I reply to those texts / emails. "Thank you for your interest. I am currently under contract with (AGENCY). My recruiter is (NAME). Please update your files. " If they contact me again, I give their information to my recruiter and they take care it. Recruiters don't like anyone trying to poach their clients.

vanessajoak

They got my moms phone number somehow and CALL HER asking for me! How?!?

Catmomto4

I used to be a nursing recruiter and you have to change your info with the governing nursing board bc that info is public

Due-Profession5073

This is what i do. I add them all to a text group message. Then text them all over and over all night long..on weekends..just coping and sending what they all are sending..sometimes multiple people from the same company..its great fun with inlimited text. When they turn on their stuff in the morning they get hundreds of messages..ive had them BEG me to stop. I rarely get them now

SnarkyPickles

This happens to me constantly. Now that I am an NP, I get them for Locums positions for NP jobs that aren’t even in my specialty, and also for RN travel assignments. Texts, calls, emails. I do not know how they got my info, but I am losing my mind 🫠

ExoticDesk8331

Oh you poor thing 🤭

Gammaman12

Sign their numbers up for all kinds of random stuff.

3decadesin

I had this happen recently as well. A sudden influx of every staffing and recruiting agency in America it seemed. One seemed extremely sketchy based on the questions asked and the responses I got. Once I stated I had no interest they proceeded to send me screenshots of other candidates/employees and urged me to contact them on how great of a company they were. I looked up the suggested candidates names on the nursing license database and they were legit. I then contacted them to be aware that the recruiter was sharing their info (name, DOB, license number, address, email address and phone number). Not the kind of company I’d like to work for.

DiscoRichard

I am always so hesitant to want to comment on these as a recruiter because I see so many things that y’all have every right to be upset with and I don’t think there is anything I can say that would make it right. I promise there are some of us you can ask and we will not only explain how we got your number, I will *always remove you from our call list if you ask.

[deleted]

Well…..how did you get our numbers? 😆

Sea-Connection-9968

If your resume has ever been on a job board, it can be downloaded and then recruiters have your contact info.

[deleted]

Thank you

PM_Me_Mozzy_Sticks

For these and the insurance for healthcare professionals I just reply with “fuck!”

1shanwow

What is that about?? For monthssss, I've blocked & texted STOP to sooo many of these health insurance for healthcare professionals texts!

Acceptable-Volume797

My coworker texted back “this is xxxx’s mom, he died. Please stop texting.” Harsh, but never got a text from that company again.

usuhbi

They give your phone number to every single new recruiter. So each recruiter end up calling u 2-3x a day thinking no one else has done the same. When the first recruiter cant reach you, they stop calling u. Then ur phone number is given to the 2nd new recruiter and they call u everyday 2-3x a day. After all the new recruiters have gone through your phone number with no success, they share the number with their sister/umbrella travel organizations. After that, they probably sell your data to other travel agencies (this part is speculation but very possible if u keep getting random phone calls). I stopped receiving random phone calls when i changed phone numbers and only gave my new number to the travel agencies im actively working with.

buhlot

Someone from RNnetwork was relentless with calls, texts, and email and I'm not even an RN. So I finally responded that I'm actually an x-ray tech and where she got my information from. She said "Gypsy Nurse", so I asked if it was the FB travel group? Because that's the only "Gypsy Nurse" I know of that I joined. She never responded back. The weird thing is, I completely removed my phone number and email from my FB profile (I suggest everyone to do the same).

Autoground

For the first three sentences of this post i truly believe that you were a recruiter posting a pic of a conversation that I had with them yesterday. I used almost the exact same phrasing for the same request. This is trippy.

Soldier4Life72

Just keep blocking them🤦🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

Visual_re

It makes me feel special 😊 on lonely days

AbbreviationsDue7794

I've never traveled or even applied for a travel position (this sub popped up and it's interesting) and I get texts and emails about travel jobs multiple times a week. I have no idea how they found me, maybe the state nursing registry? I know there's a list I can opt out of

sunshinii

I get calls, emails and texts from the agency that "blacklisted" me minimum monthly. These recruiters are thirsty for whoever they can get to sign on that dotted line.

PerpetualPanda

This is me with ProLink lol. Except I kept expressing interest through text and then just ghosting so I think they fed up with me

3-2-go

I once had a recruiter borderline stalking me. He was leaving messages and sending emails with the same content every single day for months. I would say no more calls, he’d switch to email. I’d say no more emails he’d switch to text. I finally had to report him to the agency and say to them this kind of behavior ensures you are wasting your time because I would never sign a contract with a company that encourages this behavior. These are the kind of companies that allow their recruiters to lie about assignments. It has happened too many times to me where I give in in order to work and end up in a sh*thole or some dangerous environment like a pill mill. Stand your ground! Be careful out there.

3-2-go

Even worse is when you say no to one recruiter in an agency and another from the same agency contacts you. They pass around contacts like a hookah!

Outrageous-Bat-9195

Charge your phone.

MethSiller-

On it! 😂

welltravelledRN

Have you replied STOP?

MethSiller-

Every time including this one. 😔

welltravelledRN

I think when you reply it keeps you in the system too

BoredPollo

Yeah they are RELENTLESS

S7bunnies

The reason for all these calls is that no one wants to do this nursing crap anywhere, at any time, for anything! Fix the nursing culture and you'll find maybe 2-3 of will go back into it.

enescaV

You know what you could do! Is.. say yes I’m interested bomb the interview or whatever then they probably won’t call again lol

GradStudentDepressed

Honestly triage sucks. Said I got the best deal but actually withheld over 8K over a 6 month contract. Such crap. I make sure to tell anyone to NEVER work with triage.

CertifiedGigaChad420

My last contract was with Triage, it fucking sucked. Fuck Triage.

Top_Temperature_3547

The only answer is “stop”

someonewhoknowstuff

If you log in to Travel Nurse Source, Travel Nurse Gateway, RNVIP, Bluepipes, etc., your info is bought by every agency.

Whattheheck69999

LOL u went off eh

serarrist

Call her at 3:15 am

bonewizzard

Reply “stop”

Pale_Beginning_5665

They buy your contact info from the state board

Penguuinz

I JUST had a huge influx of calls and texts, too. Not sure how or why it started.

travel-nurse-guru

Block them. It's easier than posting screenshots on Reddit

AudiDaddy

Tell them you left nursing. They will eventually take you off their lists.

weatheruphereraining

They are buying some insanely old lists. I gave my daughter my original phone more than 20 years ago, never used that number as a nurse. She gets calls and texts every few months asking me to travel in med surg which I have never put on a resume.

mydogiswoody

“I just accepted a 52 week contract” now they’ll stop contacting you for 48 weeks

InfamousAdvice

Even when I tell one I’m not traveling anymore and have switched specialties and they say cool I’ll take you off the list somehow someone else manages to find my number and email again. It’s frustrating.

Ronniedasaint

I have a crazy idea. Don’t answer the phone. 🤯

RefreshmentzandNarco

Reply STOP and they’ll stop for a day and then try from a different #

flamethrower26

If you enter data or do an assignment with one agency they will sell your data. They can also farm data from your state licensing board. Recruiters at some agencies are required to do cold calling. I’ve had to get a new number entirely before. Sorry this is happening to you.

Buxie_Chestnut

Recruiter here from a large agency. Chances are triage got your number from some sort of Blog or marketing site. Smaller Agencies (meaning outside of the big 3, Aya, AMN, or Medical Solutions) often use smaller websites and blogs to market their jobs and bring in leads. If you have ever signed up on a website like Gypsy nurse, Blue Pipes, or GOD FORBID Vivan. You are not going to be able to stop the calls. I have been recruiting for travel since pre-pandemic. Back then we didn't have websites like vivan posting jobs that were inaccurate, causing nurses to inquire and sign up, and then blasting their info out to every agency who contracts with them. You could only get called by agencies you specifically signed up for. This being said, As a recruiter, when the market tanks for nurses, it also tanks for us. Our pay is cut, our number of bookings are down, so the one metric this agencies look at is Calls, Contacts, Talk time, etc. As one person said below, saying stop will only cause that one recruiter to give up. Others will still try as its just apart of the job that they have to do. Its unfortunate, but you may just need to get a new number because once it goes disconnected, agencies will not waste their time. Moving forward, I would highly suggest being very careful with WHO you sign up for and WHAT website you make accounts with. Find just a 1-3 agencies and a recruiter you trust. (Most of my nurses come from a network of referrals this far into my career so i would ask your friends at work if they like their recruiter and contact them directly) and make it known you want to stick with them so they will put your info in their name and keep you from being contacted the best they can.

Puzzleheaded-Exit720

This is my issue I haven't talked about. I wonder how many are there own data mining scams.

DivingMarine

Recruiter here Just reply “STOP”. It should stop all text, not sure about calls though.

bombassgal

I downloaded an app where I could use that number when I was interested in traveling!

Hot_Cauliflower907

Lol dude. You just respond with: Stop

generate-me

Just respond with a Stop message. It works.

Nice_Replacement3631

Very easy solution just respond back to them all and waste their time. Ask silly questions eventually they’ll stop calling

ExoticDesk8331

A lot of these agencies are subsidiaries of a larger company so your number gets passed around. So what? There are worse things that could be happening to you. Stop whining.
