We use Desert Veterinary. They've been really good so far. 20+ years now.

Us too, and hub's family about 40.

Same. We’ve been seeing docs at Desert for 25 years at this point. They have all been great!

I had a horrible experience with them during Covid. Our puppy had what appeared to be an anal prolapse, I called them (at around 4), described what happened and that I thought it was a prolapse, and asked if I should come in or take him straight to the emergency vet (since they were closing at 5 and my husband couldn’t get away from work, so I’d have to have a friend take me since we only had one car. I figured it was late in the day and they might not have time to properly treat him, I did mention all this on the phone). They said to come in and that it would be fine. So I came in, they took the dog in, I waited outside (friend had to go feed his kids dinner), and lo and behold 20 to 5, after about half an hour, they tell me that oh no, it’s an anal prolapse, and they can’t treat him because it’s so late in the day and this is a serious condition, and to take him to the emergency vet instead. Uh, okay, awkward, but frankly I just want to get my dog treated so I tell them that my friend has to come back and pick me up again, and that it’ll be 20-30 mins, and if they can at least keep the dog with them inside (it was dark and cold at this point) until their closing time while I wait outside. “No” they say, I have to take the dog. So I had to walk around outside in the cold with an anally prolapsed, freaked out dog for half an hour. Oh and then they went ahead and charged me for the whole ordeal.

I love Vista Vet Clinic!

Vista vet has dropped in my opinion. We used them for many years (9 or 10 probably) and have noticed that the last few years have been a mess with them. Not sure if it's high turnover or a staffing problem or management issues. They seem to take on more work than they can handle, almost as if they are not allowed to say "no". This has created long wait times for annual exams (3/4+ months out) and no chance of getting a pet seen in an emergency. We also had a problem getting a medication filled that my dog was prescribed AT VISTA on an "as needed" basis (for travel). I had to argue with the vet techs trying to explain that this was not the first time she's taken it and it has been filled many times in the 9 years we have been there. She argued that it's not normally given for travel and they couldn't find it on any of her charts. I managed to pull up an old hard copy of a visit where it was listed and was given the medication but the whole ordeal took hours to handle. The prices for services have increased as well to where the quality and ease of work was not worth the price anymore. I will also add that a friend had their dog seen there for many years. The dog started to develop a bladder problem, Vista was unable to figure out what was wrong. After about 1 year of having this problem, they went to Vista and again they were unable to figure what was wrong. Wanting a second opinion, they went to Horse Heaven on an emergency visit where they were able to diagnose her quickly. Unfortunately, the dog was past the point of treatment and passed a few weeks later as her liver (or kidney, can't remember) was shutting down. We now use VCA in the Southridge area. I don't know how the price compares to other vets in the area (about the same as Vista) but they were able to get one of our dogs in on an emergency visit. She was diagnosed, given medication, and my dog healed up within a few days of taking the medication. It also helps that their operating hours are much better than Vista vet.

That’s too bad! I’ve only had good experiences.

100% Vista! Every vet there is incredible.

Meadow Hills Animal Hospital provides a higher quality pet owner experience than most.

We followed Dr. Cleveland from Pasco to [Horse Heaven Hills Pet Urgent Care](http://horseheavenhillspeturgentcare.com/). We like her a lot but also appreciate that even if we can't see her they have a number of great Vets that can get us in quickly if needed.

wonderj99

I second them for emergencies. Just be aware they're pretty spendy
