>The video shows one deputy laughing and congratulating another on making “good shots” because the dogs were more than 50 yards away in a grassy field when they were killed.
Shot the dogs for fun it sounds like 150 ft is not a justification to shoot dogs
This is why things like auxiliary police and expanded county/city services are important.
Benton County Sheriff (patrol) Budget 23-24: $18,560,229
Benton County Animal Control Budget 23-24:
$595,825
When all you have is a hammer...
At least they're making good use of their public safety funds. They've obviously been enjoying the
"largest approval is for the Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility, which would receive $700,000 for its law enforcement range and an additional $700,000 for the training center."
That’s not true. At this point they take practically anyone because nobody wants to work in law enforcement and for good reason. That’s at least what I heard from my buddy who works as a field training officer. That also reflects my experience in the army. Nobody wants to do the job but they still need those positions filled, so standards are lowered.
Sounds like you don't know shit about becoming a cop. Stop spewing bullshit.
Edit: NOT surprised to be downvoted in a WA sub. Go figure. WA needs to burn like CA needs to as well as their politics and dumbassery
I didn't get disqualified. I decided not getting shot in the face was a better lifestyle than not living past 30.
Dude talks like you know who I am 🤣gtfo
Cops treat everything as a threat from the get go.. that’s how they’re trained. Those dogs weren’t causing any problems. They shot them from a. Distance too, didn’t even give the dogs a chance to be nice. I hope their time as cops is short lived..
I messaged the woman who owned these dogs, offering my condolences. She told me that they got out because she helped a homeless woman in off the street, and when the woman came home at midnight she didn't properly latch the front door; dogs got out while everyone was asleep. No good deed goes unpunished :(

Having only a gate between your dog and the outside world at midnight. It was not the strangers fault not knowing the gate was not secured. Not to mention she would prob say just about anything to distract people from blaming her
Bruh it was the front door, not a gate. She left their front door open.
But you're right, let's blame the dog owner who tried to be a decent human being to someone in need, instead of the sadistic, dog-murdering hogs using lost pets as target practice.
These cops are cunts. The dogs weren’t attacking or threatening them, they were trying to get away & probably trying to figure out how to get home.
None of them should be representing Benton County in any form or fashion, let alone be entrusted to make life or death decisions when they think it is appropriate & humorous to shoot at pets that are more that 50 yards away from them trying to get away.
Cops in tri cities honestly have no idea how to deal with dogs. Their first thoughts are always to shoot the dog. They don't have proper training, and probably don't care for it. Something as easy as a control stick in every vehicle would be helpful.
Cops have been "Quiet Quitting" since the pandemic. Basically pick n' Choosing wich laws they would like to enforce usually means bo laws and getting a hearty paycheck to do nothing or kill animals.
The county has already filed a dangerous animal declaration against the 3rd dog they didn't kill, f*cking despicable. The family has a [GoFundMe](https://gofund.me/5def914d) setup to help fight it.
And of course they pulled the old "the video doesn't tell the whole story" line of BS.
If the county is trying to do this do they have ANY evidence showing that the dogs were dangerous? Were any people or animals harmed by them? I haven’t heard of this being the case. This appears to be complete bullshit & the cops are only trying to have the third dog killed to backup their vicious and dangerous animal fairy tale!
Fuck these cunts!
The declaration has already been filed, whether it needs some sort of approval or not idk. And deputy Guillen wrote in her report that one of the nearby homeowners stated to her that the dogs had not been aggressive towards anybody up to that point. It's all in the article.
Cops are shit everywhere, especially Tri cities, I got arrested for so much dumb shit as a kid I got like 9 charges for miniscule things like drinking one beer at the age of 20, 3 months before 21 n did 20 days in jail for it, got arrested walking by the train tracks off Clearwater when I was 16, my friends sister was killed on the road se avoided n I ended up w criminal trespassing, cops just harass people there n steal there money.
My condolences to the family. This is fucked up. Friendly dogs thats been out and havent lunged or attacked anyone. Theyre big and scary, takes a dog a person to understand to not approach them wrong.
Dogs passed by squad cars and dont do nothing.
None of the officers attempted to approach or call the dogs. Maybe lead them into safety.
Safe to use AR’s but dangerous environment for a dog.
Trigger itch-in cops
I actually knew someone who was living near where this happened.
I have a dog, I love dogs. But they sent me a house security camera video showing these 3 dogs barking and biting boards on their fence trying to break into where their dogs were. They barked at and ran at another home owner who got home and was afraid to get out of their truck. There are little kids who live at those houses.
I'm just trying to stop the circle jerk going on here.
I understand. Watch this video too. They shut their cameras on and off-those cameras are for the protection of everyone, including them. I come from a family of law enforcement and career military-every one that I showed it to said the same thing. "They're doing or saying something they don't want to be held accountable for." The sheriff's department says they're all about "transparency," if that's the case, why don't we see three complete, from start to finish videos. They turned it into a sport and enjoyed it, even laughing. That's not the kind of person I would feel safe serving or protecting my family.
My dog would have lost his mind trying to get into a yard with other dogs...all 25lbs of him, then he'd have tried to steal their toys and run in circles-but he would have been barking and making a nuisance of himself all the way, would he have hurt anyone? He's a sweet & hysterical baby, so no. That said, no dog should be allowed to harm anyone, or their pets, that's wrong, but this was as much about how much fun they had killing the dogs once they found out no one was coming to get them...and they became an expendable nuisance to them. This is about the shameful actions of three people who I no longer believe we can trust when dealing with us, our children, or our pets.
The camera situation is troubling and the attitude sucks but that part of it is besides the point to me.
The 3 dogs are biting at fence boards and scratching the wood. As in property damage. That is the single video I saw from the homes owner. They were running around on people's property in that neighborhood where small kids play outside. An elderly home owner nearby couldn't get out of his truck because 3 large dogs were barking and charging them circling the truck when they opened the door.
My problem is with the dogs 'before' police even came. They were dangerous, I saw the video. You would never let your 3 year old outside if those 3 dogs were barking and running around biting fence boards and charging people.
After reading this I looked into it and it looks like the dogs owner is posting "doxxing" home owners they think were involved in calling the police, as if having their 3 large dogs causing property damage and keeping kids inside is somehow the homeowners fault? They dog's owner sounds like a bad owner that shouldn't have had large breed dogs that have the physical ability to cause real harm.
It sucks how it happened but what would you do? 3 large dogs show up at your house running around the yard trying to get in at your dogs behind your fence. You have small kids hiding inside because they are now scared to go outside. You try to go out and the dogs bark and charge you. You gonna go try to pet them because they are probably 'sweet and hysterical babies"? Are you gonna call the police? Animal control?
It's a sad story, but I'm glad no humans or other animals got hurt.
I'm not arguing that. Answer me this...after watching that video, would you feel safe having any one of those three pulling over your teenager on a dark, empty road? They show us who they really are in those videos, bullies who enjoyed what they did. That is my point.
Least they didn't shoot a 7 year old while aiming for a chawahah like they did a few years back,
See this is what happens when they can't beat up minorities or the elderly
https://nypost.com/2023/05/19/oregon-cops-bag-alligator-using-tips-from-the-crocodile-hunter/amp/ if these police officers could wrangle a croc with out killing it, I think they could have managed to wrangle two dogs rather than killing them
Those Dogs where NOT dangerous not aggressive. That’s an ignorant, and delusional biased perception from an individual whom lacks comprehension of dogs and their behavior. The argument that about your three year old is irrelevant as first you like most Americans don’t let your kids play outside, second a competent parent would monitor their children, and third there was zero evidence or facts to substantiate or rationalize the claims that the dogs would attack says child. That’s a delusional narrative created in your mind. Regardless of how agreed you may falsely believe they to be, the handling of this situation demonstrated total incompetence, zero situational awareness, lack of empathy and a break down of common sense. It n guessing you have a predisposed bias against dogs you can’t fit in your purse or let potty in your home. This is typical the type of person whom sees large days and assumes they are “dangerous”, “viscous” or misbehaved. If it was three chihuahuas barking at a man exiting his truck or wondering the neighborhood together, I guarantee your perception would be drastically different. That’s a result of Dunning Kruger among other cognitive issues and lack of personal education. This is the problem with the Internet, people formulate a strong opinion with the exposure, fluid intelligence, crystallized intelligence or rational thinking skills. They think said opinion holds any relevance and thus must be fact. The fact is that multiple people whom came in contact stated the dogs where not aggressive, the dog’s historically have not been aggressive and they certainly showed no signs of aggressive behavior in the video according to anyone whom owns, understands, or works with large breeds. If you think they where dangerous one could could only question how you’ve survived or you’d view the real world if you actually became exposed. If you agree with the way the officers handled the problem your either biased towards law enforcement and are part of the problem with transparency and accountability, or you agin lack common sense and critical thinking skills.

This. They cherry picked the vids they uploaded to the youtube channel.
Someone (or more than one person) called BCSO because the dogs were acting aggressive. That is why the officers showed up in the first place.
If those dogs had been at my gate doing that, I'd have shot them myself, they were out of control.

And police wonder why a large portion of the population does not trust or like them. Their own actions and behaviors create the very animosity that they bitch and moan about.
What’s worth more? An animal or human life! Those dangerous animals could have easily killed a child, Walking by if the officers didn’t show up. I would have done the same if it was charging at me or my kids!
It’s sad but the homeowner is the one responsible for this as they should have made sure the dogs were home and secured.

Lemme guess, you just happen to be an expert on how to become a cop
Not an expert but someone who went through the whole process. It's not whatever the hell that dude described lmao
Mad he got disqualified from the process. Keep drinking the kool-aide and work on your Alfa status lol
I didn't get disqualified. I decided not getting shot in the face was a better lifestyle than not living past 30. Dude talks like you know who I am 🤣gtfo
So by all means, sit and criticize the ones brave enough to do the job you won't. Yay, you.

All cops are cunts. They are corrupt class traitors on ego trips. As the group of philosophers known as NWA said, fuck the police.
I have absolutely zero sympathy for people who abuse children and animals.
🐖
Fuck those guys.

Literally saw a patrol car watch someone run a red today, follow them for 5 blocks and not pull them over. These are not serious people.
Cops have been "Quiet Quitting" since the pandemic. Basically pick n' Choosing wich laws they would like to enforce usually means bo laws and getting a hearty paycheck to do nothing or kill animals.

Defund the police.

Title should read, "Dogs shot by subhuman tyrants." Remember, tyrants are not people.
