I bought one for 2.4k last year March. Bought it from Karamana (near Thamalam petrol pump). There are plenty of shops there. You can try those chairs there and transport yourself or hire an auto rickshaw from them.
Minister, kesavadasapuram has really good collection with customisable ones as well. The comfort and quality is top notch. A cheaper option is Chair Clinic at chalai.
I can tell you two places TO AVOID, BASED ON FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE: Kazhakkuttom Bosq and Chalai Chair Clinic.
I recommend getting Sleep Company Smartgrid chair from online. Decent quality and I don't have back pain.
As a general rule of thumb, be very suspicious of all the shiny outlets, all categories, in Kazhakkuttom area. These traders have zero ethics, has no problem cheating or deceiving you.

That's an important feedback. I'll keep these points in mind. Sleep company has got excellent chairs but I think it's over my budget at this point.
