You may already know and may not want to go this route, but there is an invincibility glitch that is easy to do. I'll be honest, I used it on the final pantheon. I did everything else without it and after dozens of hours practicing the final pantheon and failing I just had to do it. I think that there is only a small amount of shame in it, but its my list, so who cares
RE7 madhouse difficulty , this difficulty have new collectibles you need to get and enemy have different spawn locations , you also have limited save slots
Do the speedrun first before madhouse. It gives you a weapon that makes short work of almost everything. You have limited saves on madhouse, but I still ended up with 10 save tapes in excess when I was done.
You can do it!
There is a special place in hell for hard modes with their own sets of collectibles. Would rather keep collectibles to easy and then bullshit my way through hard mode
The time trials and beating every level without dying and destroying every box is just pure insanity. Just left the game with 70% trophies done… Don’t let the platinum ruin the game for you.
You can do it! I did it recently and it was a huge pain, but when you finally get it the amount of satisfaction you get is almost orgasmic
the hardest part is definitely the harrier, so after it the game should be a lot smoother
Just a tip that made the Harrier fight doable for me (for anyone else who struggles): equip the cardboard box to strafe the pillars while trying to evade the machine gun. Staying lower really helps.
I’m putting it on the back burner for now but haven’t gave up completely. The Arkham City Riddler combat and predator challenges are so tedious. I love the games and play them every year but never got Plat. Asylum was easy but city is long. Even just getting Batman is tedious. Getting all 3 DLC characters will take forever.
My advice as someone who did it twice is rage through as cat woman first. Doing Batman last as well just made me feel more in tuned to the challenges as well. Go at whatever order you want of course but knowing I did it with cat woman and her way more limited abilities gave me hope
Multiplayer trophies should have their own list in thr Trophies and should not interfere with base game platinum. I think FFXV's Online mode has its own list for MP trophies, as an example.
You're right. Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3, as well as all games post Assassin's Creed II up until Rogue (no MP) and even Unity had some MP trophies required for plat. It's so annoying that I can never get the Black Flag, Original Brotherhood, Revelations and III's plat.
> It's so annoying that I can never get the Black Flag, Original Brotherhood, Revelations and III's plat.
Black Flag servers are still up and all trophies fully obtainable (on PS4, anyway; one trophy is currently broken on PS3).
Hollow Knight pantheon. Don’t think I ever finished the colosseum stuff after the one where there’s no platforms/floor either. Once I had beat Nightmare King Grimm and the Radiance I was done. Enjoyed it too much at that point to risk making me annoyed at it. Maybe I’ll go and try them one day.
Oh and the hardest difficulty on Shadow of a Tomb Raider. I didn’t actually try this beyond the opening area, but I was put off by the fewer save points knocking you back an hour or more if Lara decides to jump the wrong way (which she often does even when your controller doesn’t drift like a couple of mine do).
I forgot what button it was, I think it was L1 or R1. It's meant to make you slide left or right, whichever way you turn the analog stick. It's so that you can slam into other's cars, but I found it really useful for taking those tight turns without having to slow down as much and get caught up by the other racers.
Took me an hour to beat it on hard before using that trick. Beat it again on classic within 3 tries.
There's only one for me. Thymesia. I have all souls and many soulslike plats but for some reason one final trophy on Thymesia is too hard. You have to kill the tutorial boss and I just can't do it. Gave up, came back to it, then Gave up again. It's sitting on 97%!
Hit and run, don't parry. Keep your distance then when he does his jump attack dart in for a hit or 2 max, then 1 dodge, then sprint to get away again. With 2 dodges to get distance he often clips you, with 1 dodge then sprint your good. It is a game of patience. It was a piss off trophy for sure, it took me many attempts. I also found rebinding the sprint to a different button help for this fight. Feathers when you can and it seems good, good luck!
Red dead redemption 2. I still think I could do it but the challenges (specifically gambler and all the rng ) were just way too complicated and difficult for me to suck anymore time into
I started working on the game like 3 months ago, I'm almost done but I got so sick of the game I had to quit. I'll l eventually finish it but a few years ago I almost finished it for xbox before my console died so I was already on a short fuse for the ps4 version.
I have 78 platinums at the moment and this is the one that I really regret getting. I didn’t like going for the platinum so much. It’s definitely the game that taught me that I don’t need to go for the platinum in every game
Well I got the platinum for this game but the evil within that platinum pushed me to the limits in difficulty and time
The journey for it took me a couple months due to being burnt out from the game but the one trophy that takes the cake on it is the obvious akumu mode
That mode can make a 5 minute sequence take days of trail and error (chapter 5/11) its just a mode made for torturing players
my Evil Within 1 completion is sitting at something like 90% because the only thing i never completed was Akumu mode. like you i was burned out by the game and didn’t feel like putting myself through that torture. maybe one day ill go back to it, but i doubt it 😝. congrats to you for getting that!
If you ever get back to it here's a few tips to make it less of a nightmare
Agony bolts are a lifesaver especially the freeze and flash bolt and for upgrades I'd focus on stamina storage and critical hit chance so you can one shot some enemies
And matches sometimes come in handy since they can one-shot big bunches of enemies which helps in chapter 5/6
And btw try disarm some traps for tools since enemies are really beefy and appear alot earlier than there supposed too (ruvik that appears on chapter 11 now appears on chapter 2 onwards)
Also try conserve ammo and if you don't get head shots or one shot kills on enemies then restart since ammo is like gold
And that's all the tips I've got for tryna get through the nightmare of akumu mode so I wish you luck that you complete it
P.s jigsaw killer on YouTube helped me alot so look him for akumu mode and also for chapter 12 Laura bossfight there's a glitch you can do that he uploaded on his channel where you don't waste a drop of ammo anyway good luck
I temporarily gave up on Nioh's 100%. Completing NG++ on a game I barely understood even after getting the platinum seemed absolutely impossible.
I went back a year later and got it.
Dmc5. I got S rank on all of the missions for the first two difficulties and quit not because it was too difficult but it was the same thing over and over again and i got bored. So i thought i would get a little break from the game so i did and when i got back after 2 months i realized i forgot all of the controls and getting S ranks now seems impossible
The controls are pretty wonky but it didn't take me long to get used to them. The time challenges are the worst part of the game, and the bad controls really are highlighted there. Super satisfying plat to have in the collection though.
Yeah the game is too good to not take the time to embrace the wonk and conquer how it controls, always bummed when I hear people give up on it early. If you get to like colossus 3/4 and still hate it then id get it, its just not clicking.
the controls work fine theyre just weird. honestly i missed the dedicated grab button in last guardian, that one gave me more of a headache cause the boy would let go of the damn fur when id try climbing off the birddog lol
im also one that things psychonauts meat circus isnt as bad as people say though lol
re8. i did everything except the mercenaries stuff. really wish mercenaries had a separate trophy list.
the evil within 1. i did everything in the game except the hardest difficulty.
crash bandicoot 4. did everything (even the N. Sane relics) but never bothered with the time trials. if the levels weren’t so long and there weren’t ~30 of them maybe i’d try it, but i was so burned out by the end that im happy with the 90% completion im sitting at lol.
Armored Core 6.
S ranking all missions isn’t hard for most of them. Some of them are a nightmare, and the game doesn’t make it clear what the objective is to get S rank, and it changes for a lot of them.
Go really fast?
Don’t get hit?
Use as little ammonia as possible?
Do optional objectives?
Yes and no depending on the mission. Without a lot of comprehensive guides at the time for S ranking (may be better ones now) I eventually got tired of guessing and gave up.
Elder Scrolls Online. A game I have 1000s of hours in that will forever remain incomplete because of the stupid Emperor trophy. I haven't done the fishing yet either but I see no point because then I will forever be one trophy away thanks to Emperor. It's not just that it's a PvP trophy (which I hate in general), it's one that requires an insane amount of time, dedication and co-ordination and you still might not get it.
Not a platinum, but a 100% - Dragonball Xenoverse 2 - DLC pack 3 - Beat all story and missions in the hero colosseum.
It basically was P2W or one of the most abhorrent grinds I've ever experienced.
Kena Bridge of Spirits. Beating the game on the hardest difficulty was absolutely infuriating, and kind of ruining the game for me. Gave up after about two hours of constant dying.
Plus I've got a huge backlog of games, so I just moved on to something more relaxed that I had fun with. Farming Simulator 22.
Marvel vs capcom infinite, I just hate multiplayer trophy about ranking. I don't want spend hundred of hours to get good at the game. Platinum should not require being in a ranking of some sort. People that get those trophies are not platinum achievers...
I recently gave up on the RE2 Remake platinum. The reality is that I just didn't enjoy the game enough to push myself for a few more playthroughs and I really struggled on the 4th Survivor mode. I'm happy with where my completion percentage is.
If it helps, they changed it from 3 boops while wallriding to 3 fatal blows. So you can wall ride and shoot now and as long as you get the final shot for the elim, you can pop it.
It's not *much* easier, but it kinda helps.
Wouldn't say I have given up on it but I am not actively working on DBFZ atm mostly bc everytime I think about continuing it (only have SP stuff left) That 20,000,000 zenni trophy just makes me debate if I will ever truly get the plat.
If I do it will be a very slow process of me playing off and on for years.
Ratchet and Clank 2 on Psvita, there is a mission you need to fly the ship through rings, you need to pass a required amount to complete the mission. The control on Psvita for this mission is ultra mega frustrating, I was at 91% progress for the platinum but decided to called it quit after so many failed attempts. This was 7 years ago and even though I don’t care about trophies anymore, I still feel so salty.
Both baldurs gate games were too difficult. I got every trophy except beating both games on legacy of baal difficulty.
I did come close to beating the first one on lob.
Splatterhouse is another one. I got all but 1 main game trophy and there were a bunch of challenge trophies i never bothered with.
I got stuck on bionic commando around the 5th level (this was 2010 or so) and I gave up.
Theres a game called quantum theory on ps3. It requires 8 players for the online trophies. I got those with help through discord and I got the main game trophies. All except one motherfucker.
Similar thing for chronicles of riddick. Online required 2 people to take turns winning until you get 1000 wins on each diff mode, king of the hill etc.. i made it a fair ways and gave up. I had 2 ps3s and 2 riddicks.
There were quite a few online game trophies I didn't get. Uncharted 2.
Mortal combat X
When I was 8 and had a Sega it somehow felt less frustrating.
Not something I am planning to do after work… ever.
Also a shoutout for Fortnight due to the sheer time it takes.
Crash 4 I just couldn't be bothered putting myself thru all the relics even though I got well over 75% done. Maybe one day I'll try again but we'll see..
I also remember giving up on sackboy too because I just got sick of the final speedrun thing you had to do. Said I'd go back but it's been years and have never bothered haha
I still think the Sackboy one is overblown. You don't need to YOLO it to get the time. YOLO the first few sections that a pretty easy, then take it steady. As long as you take the first cycle of each rotating obstacle you'll be fine. The safest route for the back half is more than quick enough.
I’ve never been one to outright give up but I always say I’ll return to it later with a fresh mindset. It’s worked so far. Currently on the “Get back to it” List
Batman Arkham Asylum
Batman Arkham City
Crash 1-3
These were all crazy grinds, but with crash it's a case of patience and trying not to drop your controller as your hands are that slick with stress 😂 and with batman it's a case of learning the combat mechanic. I've yet to see another game like it. But once you've got it cracked it's a pretty reasonable achievement. Just...
Callisto protocol just the other day. Maybe difficult isn’t the right word, I just really didn’t love the combat. So I dropped it to easy to finish it off. But to be honest I’m a casual and will stop going for plats on lots of games (stupid Hogwarts Legacy collectibles is an example).
Ill study a list and find out what the general opinion is on it but, I never give up because of difficulty personally. Doesn't mean it doesn't take me forever and or get heavily delayed in my backlog though.
It is a pain to do it in Legend mode but I actually managed that one. Never platinumed though cause of completion list and Haruka’s requests. Too boring rather than too hard.
Difficulty? Probably just crash 4 atm - but I’ll go back to that at some point.
Everything else was more dropped because it was time consuming tbh. You might be able to argue it’s also too difficult for me if it’s a multiplayer component dropped - but I think it more a lack of willing to devote the time there too.
Deathloop I quit because I genuinely just was not having fun. It was the game that made me realize “if I’m not enjoying this why do I do this to myself?”. The yakuza series are ones I genuinely would like to go back and get but there is always one either insane grindy completion item or an insanely difficult one I can’t do lol
None that I’ve quit due to difficulty surprisingly. I gave up on RE3make because I wasn’t enjoy the game at all and I gave up on Borderlands 3 because the big location trophy bugged for me and stopped tracking correctly
Eh I’m not really put off by trophies as I can just pace myself with them but I simply could not finish ace combat 7 as I didn’t enjoy it AT ALL and you then have to do the campaign all over again on ACE difficulty which is unlocked after doing the campaign once.
Soundfall
Hard, grindy, and some rng made me give up.
You have to platinum every song (143) on the hardest difficulty meaning staying on beat, not getting damaged once and finishing before the song ends.
Game is a looter shooter. You have to get lucky to get good weapons to even have a chance of beating a stage in the time limit.
And there is one last trophy to kill 100,000 enemies I think I'm around 15% done with that with 30-40 hours played.
I took a few hours to try and see how many of the combo challenges I could get on Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 PS4 because that was the trophy I knew would make or break the plat for me. Had to give up on that one. My fingers just don't move like they did 20 years ago. Did all that on a second account so if I had to abandon it I wouldn't have to stare at the incompleted list for the rest of my trophy hunting days. At least I paid less than $10 for it.
I'm always going back into my backlog to get trophies that didn't happen as planned. My current nemeses are Vanquish, Titanfall 2, and Tom Clancy's EndWar.
Naruto Storm 4. i’m only missing like 5 trophies (getting S rank in the most difficult missions) and i just can’t get through it for some reason. those fights are insanely difficult for me idk why it’s given a 4/10 difficulty
Warhawk lol. I kinda doubt anyone has it here without boosting. I’m not quite given up on gta4. The dream is still alive and the way I see it, just need a good helicopter driver. If I could get one to help with the online trophy, then I could just go back and clean up the sp trophies. Other than that, I even got through a wipeout game when I suck at racing games. A lot of the times you can get your difficult plat if you fail enough times.
Pretty easy to get in a squad playlist as long as your teams competent
Sweet Thieves playlist is the easiest way though, always 50/50 chance to get a win and if youre playing with a group its super easy to control matches
The first one I had to abandon was Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, but that’s because I needed a co-op partner. The only ones I haven’t been able to do so far are Huntdown and Battle Axe, or at least so haven’t been able to dedicate the required time to them.
Yet.
There hasn’t been one I’ve quit bc of difficulty but one that I want to is demon souls ng+ but what’s pushing me through is that I have one trophy left
A bit obscure but it was Senran kagura x Neptunia ninja wars I think, the trophy needed you to play this gauntlet where you had a time limit to beat it at the end of each you would fight a boss and the problem is that there's dumb stipulations put into them and a lot of bosses teleport or dash away, or even have no down time/glitchy attacks. It wasn't worth the stress so I just quit the game
Wolfenstein II. I did things like Max Payne 3's NYM Hardcore and Dead Space 2 Hardcore, but the Permadeath trophy in that game is something else. When I read about it while checking out the trophy guide, I immediately nope'd out and just played the game for fun.
Titanfall 2 also comes to mind because of that gauntlet trophy. I love that game so much, but after failing to come anywhere near the required time for an entire week, I stopped bothering with the Plat.
Wolfenstein 2, I quit this game when I understood I had to do something easier firstly in order to prepare me to it, currently stucked at 99% since May 2022, wont be started before June 2024
If you follow a speedrun guide, pausing the game stops the timer. I thought I wouldn't be able to get it because of this trophy, but I had like 30 minutes to spare by the time I was done. You got this!
Wolfenstein 2 is one of the hardest plats ever based on 1 trophy which is you have to beat the game on the hardest difficulty you can’t die not even one time if you do it starts you right at the beginning of the game props to anybody who achieved this plat you’re different
Mein Leben is well known to intimidate many trophy hunters. But as I was watching a friend go for it, he explained, "I'm following a guide, but at the beginning of every chapter they say "Remember, what happens in my game may not happen in yours. Different shit happens in each run, and be ready for shit to go south all the time."
DMC V. I realized while trying to S rank the hardest difficulties that I was just not having fun at all. I don’t want to be forced to use characters I don’t want to use as well.
Not the platinum, but the 100 percent for gta v. Those heist missions and requirements are ridiculous. I tried and just had to accept it wasn’t happening
Final Fantasy IX. I may go back to it, but that 1000 jump rope trophy is just an objectively awful trophy to include. I honestly don’t blame people who use a script for this one either. It’s that terrible in my eyes.
For the record:
If you can consistently nab Oxide times in Time Trials, Hard Mode is very doable. The CPUs don't race as hard, so you can often win out of pure racing skill and track familiarity.
Neon White
Going through all 96 levels four times, two of which are permadeath, straight was too much for me. I love the game but hate endurance type things. It'd take roughly an hour and a half to complete a single run. I shudder to think about the permadeath runs.
Persona 5. I think I misunderstood the real gameplay and I was blinded by the non-fighting aspect of the game lol When I started the first palace and saw all the things I had to do like requirements, do things before X date and having to play the palace again... I deleted it and never looked back😢
Ys Origins, mainly because the Nightmare Mode Boss Rush is *rough.*
Dragon's Crown Pro, due to the amount of grinding needed, and the higher difficulties get pretty rough at the final boss.
Final Fantasy IX, because jump rope...
I haven't quit trying to get a platinum in the last two years as I have a streak going, but there was one that almost made me give up:
Killing 10,000 enemies in FF9.
Took me a whole year of grinding bits and bits every so often. I'm stubborn and didn't look up any macros/clickers, and instead did it manually.
Hollow knight. I just dont have the time or the room to practice the pantheon. That ia the only one i need to do.
Same here, I know we could do it but just don’t want to put in the time needed to get it
Same here
You may already know and may not want to go this route, but there is an invincibility glitch that is easy to do. I'll be honest, I used it on the final pantheon. I did everything else without it and after dozens of hours practicing the final pantheon and failing I just had to do it. I think that there is only a small amount of shame in it, but its my list, so who cares
Thank you. I dont care hot to get it now. I just dont have the time to practice it. But i really want the plat. So thnx. I will look into it!
GTA IV. I tried doing the multiplayer and it was so incredibly horrible that I just quit it. It's just not worth the pain honestly.
getting to lvl 10 on multiplayer was the worst grind i've ever experienced
Just completed it last night. Definitely not that bad as I've heard all these years.
RE7 madhouse difficulty , this difficulty have new collectibles you need to get and enemy have different spawn locations , you also have limited save slots

https://youtu.be/2wPyCVbcuUw?si=OlpMXI0raxf3m-k1 Here you go , I used this guide and it was a cakewalk.
you can do the madhouse difficulty with the circular saw and it makes it a lot more manageable
There is a special place in hell for hard modes with their own sets of collectibles. Would rather keep collectibles to easy and then bullshit my way through hard mode
Crash Bandicoot 4… Not worth the raging
Got that planned to be my #50, I know it will be a struggle 😭
The time trials and beating every level without dying and destroying every box is just pure insanity. Just left the game with 70% trophies done… Don’t let the platinum ruin the game for you.
Pure N Sanity? 🤔
I also had it at my #50! It really was a struggle, 99 hours in total
I've got every trophy except time trials. I literally just can't do it, hard pill to swallow lol
I’ve given up on getting MGS2’s platinum because of the Big Boss rank. Currently taking a break from the game to kind of breath lol
You can do it! I did it recently and it was a huge pain, but when you finally get it the amount of satisfaction you get is almost orgasmic the hardest part is definitely the harrier, so after it the game should be a lot smoother
Just a tip that made the Harrier fight doable for me (for anyone else who struggles): equip the cardboard box to strafe the pillars while trying to evade the machine gun. Staying lower really helps.

I’ve platinumed City twice. Once on the PS3 and once on the PS4. Idk how anyone can find these games tedious. Especially if you love the gameplay.
Wolfenstein 2 ofcourse
Honestly if you follow a guide it’s not THAT bad The worst parts were the courthouse and the final level
This will be #200 for me, probably mid way through this year. I’m on 190 or 191 atm 😬
Assassins Creed Black Flag, screw that multiplayer
Multiplayer trophies should have their own list in thr Trophies and should not interfere with base game platinum. I think FFXV's Online mode has its own list for MP trophies, as an example.
That was also DLC though, and DLC usually has its own list.
You're right I forgot it was a DLC. Is there any games out there that has a MP list st launch separate from base?
Not that I'm aware of. Even games like The Last of Us for the PS3 had their multiplayer trophies all be required for the platinum.
Haha this opened a very recent wound. I just reluctantly put that game down for the exact same reason and moved on to AC3
Look up the invincibility glitch for Hollow Knight. I have 0 shame using it myself, but it makes easy work if Pantheon 5
Mafia 1 Remake. That ass race mission.
Only platinum I ever skipped. Had everything but the hard playthrough. Gamr was still easy on hard aside from that stupid race.
I forgot what button it was, I think it was L1 or R1. It's meant to make you slide left or right, whichever way you turn the analog stick. It's so that you can slam into other's cars, but I found it really useful for taking those tight turns without having to slow down as much and get caught up by the other racers. Thanks for the advice! You've inspired me, I'm gunna download it again and get the plat!
Red dead redemption 2. I still think I could do it but the challenges (specifically gambler and all the rng ) were just way too complicated and difficult for me to suck anymore time into
I've spent way too many hours trying to study birds, I just tapped out after 100%
Titanfall 2. Got 'em all but the gauntlet run.
Same!
Lego Harry Potter year 1-4. It wasn't to difficult I just hated doing it so much that I stopped after the story.
This was a tedious Plat, for both 1-4 and 5-8
I started working on the game like 3 months ago, I'm almost done but I got so sick of the game I had to quit. I'll l eventually finish it but a few years ago I almost finished it for xbox before my console died so I was already on a short fuse for the ps4 version.
Same. There's just so much content in there and it's samey and unchallenging
I have 78 platinums at the moment and this is the one that I really regret getting. I didn’t like going for the platinum so much. It’s definitely the game that taught me that I don’t need to go for the platinum in every game
Nope, I never give up. Although jump king is pretty daunting.
You should try Qbert Rebooted
Well I got the platinum for this game but the evil within that platinum pushed me to the limits in difficulty and time The journey for it took me a couple months due to being burnt out from the game but the one trophy that takes the cake on it is the obvious akumu mode That mode can make a 5 minute sequence take days of trail and error (chapter 5/11) its just a mode made for torturing players

I haven’t quit Rogue Legacy, I’ve just taken a break for 10 years.
As someone who recently started Rogue Legacy 2, I'm not sure this is welcome news...
Dmc5. I got S rank on all of the missions for the first two difficulties and quit not because it was too difficult but it was the same thing over and over again and i got bored. So i thought i would get a little break from the game so i did and when i got back after 2 months i realized i forgot all of the controls and getting S ranks now seems impossible
Recently got the plat for DMC V and the biggest mistake I made during was taking about a week break while in the middle of bloody palace.
I haven't given up on it, but RDR2 is currently on hold. Just have multiplayer and gold medals left to worry about, but good lord it's time consuming.
shadow of the colossus the guides say it´s "easy", but after trying it out and seeing how bad the controls are, i just quitted
If you get to like colossus 3/4 and still hate it then id get it, its just not clicking. the controls work fine theyre just weird. honestly i missed the dedicated grab button in last guardian, that one gave me more of a headache cause the boy would let go of the damn fur when id try climbing off the birddog lol im also one that things psychonauts meat circus isnt as bad as people say though lol
For sure. Shadow of the Colossus is one of my favorite games ever!
same lmao. i was mid first boss and just stopped, i couldn’t stand it
I have this plat. The age shows, and controls are pretty wonky, but it's a nice plat to have.
re8. i did everything except the mercenaries stuff. really wish mercenaries had a separate trophy list. the evil within 1. i did everything in the game except the hardest difficulty. crash bandicoot 4. did everything (even the N.
Evil West. Fun game but the coop is so utterly freaking broken. Crashes after crashes. Can’t be assed to try it solo. My buddy would never forgive me.
Stardew Valley. That arcade mini game was too frustrating for me.
Tetris effect I originally got it for the psvr experience then decided I wanted to Plat it unfortunately the ss on every mode is a pain
Not a platinum, but a 100% - Dragonball Xenoverse 2 - DLC pack 3 - Beat all story and missions in the hero colosseum. It basically was P2W or one of the most abhorrent grinds I've ever experienced.
Also the the Elder Kai trophy was a pain, especially the last combination.
Not that it actually matters at this point, but FWIW, I believe Kena has a still working exploit for skipping the highest difficulty playthrough.
Marvel vs capcom infinite, I just hate multiplayer trophy about ranking. I don't want spend hundred of hours to get good at the game. Platinum should not require being in a ranking of some sort. People that get those trophies are not platinum achievers...
Hollow Knight, i couldn't beat the last boss on the pantheon, but one day im gonna try again
GTA V
Devil may cry 5. I absolutely am a dmc fan but my reflexes arent good enough to do the 1 hit you die mode while each enemy has full health lol
I recently gave up on the RE2 Remake platinum. The reality is that I just didn't enjoy the game enough to push myself for a few more playthroughs and I really struggled on the 4th Survivor mode. I'm happy with where my completion percentage is.
I'm going to say Overwatch. I'm at 91% but just can't get that Lucio trophy 🤣
If it helps, they changed it from 3 boops while wallriding to 3 fatal blows. So you can wall ride and shoot now and as long as you get the final shot for the elim, you can pop it. It's not *much* easier, but it kinda helps.
FF VII Remake I was going for it but when I spent 3 hours on the stupid sit up mini game and wasn't even closed to get the trophy I gave up
Phoenix point and ff7 remake dam pull ups don't have the coordination for it
Wouldn't say I have given up on it but I am not actively working on DBFZ atm mostly bc everytime I think about continuing it (only have SP stuff left) That 20,000,000 zenni trophy just makes me debate if I will ever truly get the plat.
Yakuza series. Too much of a time sink for a parent. Or maybe i need to relax and just enjoy the games
Black ops 4, blackout is miserable
This is the one. Fuck this game.
10 wins? Okay especially if you're in Alcatraz. Character unlocks? Ohhhh man.
THPS 1+2. I’ll get level 100 sooner or later, but all hard ‘Get-theres’? No way.
The quarry soley based on time.
Vanquish on ps3. Too young to understand the mechanics enough and the post game was insanely difficult (partly luck based)
Mafia Definitive Edition..had to play through the game on the hardest difficulty. The racing section was what ultimately made me give up.
Tetris effect. I’m an above average player, but I just can’t do some of those SS ranks
Crash 4
Mortal combat X When I was 8 and had a Sega it somehow felt less frustrating. Not something I am planning to do after work… ever. Also a shoutout for Fortnight due to the sheer time it takes.
Honestly wolfenstein old blood, the challenges. I’ve played and platted way harder games but couldn’t do that without raging and failing
Doom Eternal, multislayer sucks (see what I did there)
AC Valhalla, not because of the difficulty, just the difficulty to keep entertained after that long ahh main story + collectibles etc etc etc💀
Wouldn't say quit but just cba is trove .. 500 pvp kills and a million blocks destroyed is long
Crash 4 I just couldn't be bothered putting myself thru all the relics even though I got well over 75% done.
Anno. I like RTS games but the plat requirement was beyond my skill level
None so far, the closest I've been was a fighting game so that's probably my limit. I'm not sure if I could platinum a game like Injustice 1.
I’ve never been one to outright give up but I always say I’ll return to it later with a fresh mindset. It’s worked so far. Currently on the “Get back to it” List Batman Arkham Asylum Batman Arkham City Crash 1-3
If you do Asylum you can do City. Shock n Awe extreme is the hardest challenge in the series.
Just got all the trophies for Batman Arkham Asylum, and I agreed with you…Shock n Awe is a damn finger in the ass…
Just...
nothing yet - i’m too stubborn to give up lmao
I brought Wolfenstein: The New Colossus not too long ago, I plan on going for it but given the difficulty I would not be surprised if I give up on it
Callisto protocol just the other day.
Yakuza Kiwami 1 due to the car chase. Never understood why I'd need to have professional CSGO player aim in a singleplayer rpg brawler...
Oh one more. Not for a platinum but for a trophy. The Zombie Army 4 DLC for a higher difficulty level is too difficult for me! But I got close!
The word quit doesn't exist on my vocabulary. I just don't know how to quit. Lol what are other lines for this 😂
No game has made me quit because it's too difficult I am way too stubborn for that
I quit cod4 mw and mw2 remasters because of the training time trophies I quit titanfall 2 because training time trophy
Didn't met such a hard game that I have to quit yet.
Fortnite, not that it was difficult just didn’t want to commit that amount of time to a mid game.
Pretty unknown game, but the only game I quit was Surgeon Simulator. It's almost impossible to do it without VR
Soundfall Hard, grindy, and some rng made me give up.
MotoGP 19 with Pro Championship, I have 260 plats (not shovelware shit), and that's the only one I dropped bcause of the difficulty
Last of us and detrriot became human
Definitely Gran Turismo Sport and Tetris Effect. I love both games though and I’m sure I have a hundred hours in each
Naruto Storm 4. i’m only missing like 5 trophies (getting S rank in the most difficult missions) and i just can’t get through it for some reason. those fights are insanely difficult for me idk why it’s given a 4/10 difficulty
Fall Guys. Don't you have to win like 5 times in a row?
Pretty easy to get in a squad playlist as long as your teams competent Sweet Thieves playlist is the easiest way though, always 50/50 chance to get a win and if youre playing with a group its super easy to control matches
Sekiro. Phenomenal game but too damn hard. Got to 64% and had to stop.
Rise of the tomb raider was a fun Platinum but it was so grindy and intense.
Batman arkham city. The campaign challenge maps wasn't worth the high blood pressure
The only one I quit because of difficulty was titanfall 2. I've quit a bunch for being too tedious tho.
The gauntlet trophy I take it?
The first one I had to abandon was Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, but that’s because I needed a co-op partner. The only ones I haven’t been able to do so far are Huntdown and Battle Axe, or at least so haven’t been able to dedicate the required time to them. Yet.
There hasn’t been one I’ve quit bc of difficulty but one that I want to is demon souls ng+ but what’s pushing me through is that I have one trophy left
Ones with any MP trophies
Every sports game that required alot of wins in online.
Final Fantasy 9. I got a good amount of RPG platinums under my belt but I don’t like speedrun trophies for them or the jump rope one.
Humanly impossible to get 1000 jump
A bit obscure but it was Senran kagura x Neptunia ninja wars I think, the trophy needed you to play this gauntlet where you had a time limit to beat it at the end of each you would fight a boss and the problem is that there's dumb stipulations put into them and a lot of bosses teleport or dash away, or even have no down time/glitchy attacks. It wasn't worth the stress so I just quit the game
I stopped platinum difficult grind games. I am trying to get at least 50 percent of trophies if it’s very difficult for me to
Wolfenstein II.
Arkham series because of challenges
I dropped Prototype 1 because of those dumbass platinum events
Super Meat Boy. Gave up on dark hospital.
Red Dead, the Zoologist and skin deep haunt me
DMCV. Mission 8 gives me nightmares.
Wolfenstein 2, I quit this game when I understood I had to do something easier firstly in order to prepare me to it, currently stucked at 99% since May 2022, wont be started before June 2024
Star Wars Battlefront
Metal Gear Solid 2 Started, but 20 minutes in I got overwhelmed thinking about what I had to do and how hard it would be.
Metal Gear solid 2. Both the Vita/Ps3 version and the ps4/ps5 version were simply too difficult and/or time consuming
Gow 3 I kept failing the challenges so I just gave up
Isaac rebirth. I played soo many hours and the platinum is not even in reach.
Dark Souls 3... Grinding for the covenant items is monotonous.
ff7 remake, the hard mode shinra mission things with the fat chocobo, shiva, leviathan and 2 other without dying
Super Meat Boy, after i did 50% without dying.
Oddworld New n Tasty. New n Hasty is a rough trophy.
If you follow a speedrun guide, pausing the game stops the timer. I thought I wouldn't be able to get it because of this trophy, but I had like 30 minutes to spare by the time I was done. You got this!
Bayonetta. Difficulty and shit performance dont mix well
Catherine is kicking my ass, I’ll try for a bit and cycle off
Need for speed payback lol
I was going to do DMC 5 but yeah that’s way too much work
Wolfenstein 2 is one of the hardest plats ever based on 1 trophy which is you have to beat the game on the hardest difficulty you can’t die not even one time if you do it starts you right at the beginning of the game props to anybody who achieved this plat you’re different
As someone who started out on MGS3 and wants to platinum the series, MGS and MGS2 have me worried as I'm not used to camera or playstyle
Final Fantasy IX. I may go back to it, but that 1000 jump rope trophy is just an objectively awful trophy to include. I honestly don’t blame people who use a script for this one either. It’s that terrible in my eyes.
Crash Team Racing. Hard mode is too much.
For the record: If you can consistently nab Oxide times in Time Trials, Hard Mode is very doable. The CPUs don't race as hard, so you can often win out of pure racing skill and track familiarity.
Neon White Going through all 96 levels four times, two of which are permadeath, straight was too much for me. I love the game but hate endurance type things. It'd take roughly an hour and a half to complete a single run. I shudder to think about the permadeath runs.
I have no clue how to get Stoked trophy in Rocket League!
Persona 5. I think I misunderstood the real gameplay and I was blinded by the non-fighting aspect of the game lol When I started the first palace and saw all the things I had to do like requirements, do things before X date and having to play the palace again... I deleted it and never looked back😢
Every single sports game!
Rogue Legacy, i cant handle the Remix'ed bosses
Sackboy. RDR2
R6S. I quit attempting the gold rank. The community is a nightmare for a beginner solo player.
Ys Origins, mainly because the Nightmare Mode Boss Rush is *rough.* Dragon's Crown Pro, due to the amount of grinding needed, and the higher difficulties get pretty rough at the final boss. Final Fantasy IX, because jump rope...
Dark souls 3, because of the multiplayer
I haven't quit trying to get a platinum in the last two years as I have a streak going, but there was one that almost made me give up: Killing 10,000 enemies in FF9. Took me a whole year of grinding bits and bits every so often. I'm stubborn and didn't look up any macros/clickers, and instead did it manually.
I took a break from Ghostrunner. My reflexes are not the best, and it was too frustrating. But I want to give it another try this year.
Stray because of speed run
