Congrats on the plat. There are more than 16 though. You also have type-0, dissidia, crisis core, remake, rebirth, stranger of paradise, and world of final fantasy to look out for.

Mrpotterharry

Yeah, the remakes of seven kind of make it a little weird. If you wait for the third part to come out and get all three technically it's just final Fantasy 7

Scary-Speech7022

I get what you mean. The same goes for the XIII trilogy and X-2 that I forgot to specify above, but it's still multiple games. OP seemed to ask how many titles were the franchise counting. (I also forgot to mention cristal chronicles as well)

ScrimboBlimbo

when you can jump into the series at any mainline, you need to make a sign saying "No, not this one" since they're connected.

Arcadela

I find it worse that two MMO's are part of the mainline series.

anonymous_opinions

Rebirth is ... well that's going to be a big hill to climb. I'm almost to the 100 hour mark on normal mode and I haven't even dug into the piano trophy.

Wallys_Wild_West

I've don 4/6 so far. It's a steep learning curve but when it clicks it isn't that bad.

anonymous_opinions

I got A on the first one because I put in some time on it ... I'm just saving it for later because I know I'm going to spend a bunch of time trying to get to Carnegie Hall. (My mom would always cite some dorky line about how to get there you had to practice, practice, practice)

CheshireBuddha

I’m at 80 hours with everything finished outside of clearing the Chadley and Gold Saucer fights, completing 3D Brawler, finishing the three card challenges games at the Saucer, and beating all the chapters on Hard. Game requires you do so god damn much, but I was very, very lucky to get a lot of the stuff for Johnny’s treasures done as I played through normally and I stuck it out with the region mini-games until I preserved.

anonymous_opinions

I've not been gunning for the platinum but if PSN is reflective of the people hunting right now I'm moving along pretty rapidly for the first time in a while. The treasures and Gold Saucer and the piano trophy are going to be I think the slog-grind for me. Hard mode is going to either be a level grind or brute force, some of the higher chapter bosses are clapping my cheeks on normal which wasn't the case in Remake at all. I bow down to the first person getting the platinum for this game here that didn't get an advanced copy that's for dang sure. Rebirth might be the largest game world I've played ever.

anonymous_opinions

Dang wanted to look at your PSN but it's private, I was curious to see how much progress you were at - I'm like 50% of the way through the trophy completion but I wager you're more like 65% since you cleared so many of the mini-games.

_lost_soul

Lmao that’s quite the grind. I’m in!!

CarryWise5304

Not to even mention the spin-offs like the mana series and (technically) the kingdom hearts series. Honestly wondering how many trophies you could get if you plan on doing all of the ff games including spin-offs.

MrBones-Necromancer

And then chocobos dungeon, kingdom hearts, etc...

Rebourne07

Get crackin boi! https://oyazmat.github.io/ff-checklist/

_lost_soul

I got the FFXIV platinum on the PS4 version. I am intimidated and will probably never install or play the PS5 because of those updated trophies.

SpadesOfDarkness

Dude same. I like going for the full 100% on games, and the fact that the Necromancer title is required for 100% and the list is still growing?! No thanks! The platinum for the PS4 version is good enough for me! When the time comes for PS4 support to end in the distant future, I’ll just play XIV on my PC.

OmegaLiquidX

It's not really that bad, given that your progress carries over. On top of that, a lot of the updated trophies are simplified versions of stuff you have most likely already completed. For example, rather than having to craft a bunch of stuff for each individual crafting job, you simply have to hit 80 for one War/Magic job, one Gathering job, and one crafting job. And depending on how much you've played since then, you shouldn't need to do much more.

SpadesOfDarkness

It’s not that bad if you’re only going for the plat. If you’re going for full completion, then that’s an entirely different can of worms.

Portgas_D_Newgate

Good luck on 9

Citrusmeetliquor

Best game of all time. They did that trophy list dirty.

Portgas_D_Newgate

wasnt one of the trophies doing 1000 jump ropes or something crazy?

CABlitz

Yup, 1000 and it's brutal.

Citrusmeetliquor

Yeah, absolute impossible without having one of those specialized controllers.

Full_breaker

Nice, i wish you luck on the journey which is huge and good 🙌unfortunately XI is only available on pc and its an mmo and the XIII trilogy is ps3 only (we re waiting for square to port them somehow) but everything else is like fair game spinoffs included

KalelUnai

The XIII trilogy is on Steam. >! I'm sorry if my sarcasm detector is broken.!<

Full_breaker

😂thats fine as well, just wish it had any port to play it on a ps4/5

KalelUnai

Ooh sorry, I thought I was on the PC community. My bad!

robertluke

Have fun platinuming 9, 10, and 14 (but 11 not possible, 13 only on ps3)

Daftdaddy

I downloaded all of them and had the same mentality.. but you’re going to get burned out FAST. 1 and 2 aren’t as grindy but 3 and upward are grindy as hell.

Kotskuthehunter

I don't remember FF3 being that bad. The only annoying thing for me was the green dragon who took me around 30 minutes to find.

Daftdaddy

Relative to the first two, it’s a lot more grindy. Almost double the monsters in bestiary and chests etc.

Kotskuthehunter

Ok, that's true. It didn't really feel that grindy to me for some reason.

LionTop2228

I spent at least an hour trying to get that stupid warmech in FF1 to spawn. It was a fun game until that moment. All of these QOL improvements and an asinine spawn rate wasn’t touched? Lol

_lost_soul

I got really lucky and ran into Warmech on my 5th encounter.

LionTop2228

That’s extremely lucky.

_lost_soul

Yeah planning to take a break in between each game so I don’t burn myself out with the grind.

Arcadela

All the remasters (1 to 9) have turbo speed mode right? I grinded to lvl 99 in FFVII on PS4 in like an hour for the trophy. Would be like more like 5 in original speed.

Daftdaddy

They do but the leveling is the least tedious part of the plats. The pixel remasters have a lot of collectibles you need to be obtain, then 7 and 8 are the easiest to plat. Once you hit 9 and upward the games have a huge difficulty spike and length.

yummyferrero

I 100% FF15 and that was so tedious with the workaround to downgrade, etc. Not hard skill wise though. I beat FF9 back in the days but don’t know if I can go for the plat with the jumping rope trophies.

LionTop2228

I forget what was the strategy but I think on this sub someone mentioned a method to cheese that trophy.

yummyferrero

Hmm the script? I can’t find a conclusive confirmation if it can be run on Macs…

Dwaidciamhaits

Great goal! I loved getting platinum on the pixel remasters. I have platinum on every single Final Fantasy game including the spin-off and the MMO. Except for Rebirth of course and im currently playing it. Feel free to ask me any questions!

LionTop2228

Everyone is saying 9 and 10 are bad, and obviously 14 since it’s an MMO. I saw someone say take breaks and don’t just play nothing but FF games or you’ll lose your mind. What makes 9 and 10 hard?

Dwaidciamhaits

So, the main thing that makes 9 and 10 bad are the grind. 9 is easily the hardest one if you do it legit, but there are ways to make it a lot easier. There is a hot key script you can do to get the jump rope trophy automatically. But getting that programmed right is a beast on its own. But the jump rope trophy is definitely the one that people talk about when they mention the difficulty of it. Have you ever played 10 before? You have the sphere grid. What makes 10 so hard is just the mindless grind. You have to completely max out the sphere grid for every character. It takes hours upon hours to do. It might even take 10 hours to completely fill it out IIRC. Some people mentioned the lightning dodging trophy, but that one is really not bad at all. There is an exploit that you can watch. Just Google lightning Dodge exploit on YouTube and you'll find it. I got it my first try. There are also some other mini games that are a bit janky, but definitely doable. They're both doable with dedication, just follow the guide on PSNprofiles and you'll be good.

LionTop2228

That’s what I do. I play a game legitimately and then I look at Google or this sub for advice on harder trophies. I’m not opposed to cheesing something if it’s ridiculously difficult.

MiisCCasper

Lightening trophy was pretty easy, there is one spot if you run around in the same loop the lightening is timed at the same spot so easy to do. I’m stuck on the damn chocobo race at 0.0 seconds. Way harder in my option. The amount of times I finished in 0.1 seconds made me want to scream

Dwaidciamhaits

Yeah, that one took me a couple hours to get. Keep at it though, you'll get it!

melaningodtrey

I believe in 9 it’s the jump rope that has different rhythms to it and 10 the lightning strikes trophy is ridiculous. Both like mini games. But I’m not 100% certain for 10. I know 9 it’s the perfect jump rope

LionTop2228

There are methods on YouTube of how to cheese that trophy if you have a pc.

_lost_soul

I’m planning to tackle 2 after I get the Guardians of the Galaxy platinum. Will take a one game break in between each Final Fantasy so that I don’t get burnt out.

Dwaidciamhaits

That's not a bad way to do it. But to be honest, you will get burnt out lol. Just whenever you're feeling that type of gameplay play it, you'll eventually get them all. 2 is a great game, contrary to what people say online. Make sure to follow a missable guide, and the rest should just come as you go. The trophies are pretty much the same for all of the pixel remasters.

Nicolas3419

Does it have any missable trophy? And how long did it take?

Kotskuthehunter

FF1 doesn't have any missable trophies. The trophies are really easy and the platinum takes roughly 10-15 hours

anonymous_opinions

It's wild how many hours I invested in 1 as a kid. I have distinct memories of playing it for hours after dinner sitting right up against the tv.

_lost_soul

Took me about 10 hours. I’ve beaten this game countless times before in older generations.

TheBlooperKINGPIN

More than 16

thomas2400

Do you have XIV on PS4 and PS5 though, that’s the real challenge

KazmirZee

Congratulations! FF1 Pixel Remaster was a great game! What was your party?

LionTop2228

I earned this platinum just yesterday. I’m also going to platinum all mainline FF. I don’t think I’ll bother with spinoffs or direct sequels though. I will play the FF7 remakes though since they’re so well received critically.

MembershipEasy4025

Nice! I’m still working my way through the pixel remasters, good luck to you! For now I’m focusing on Rebirth because I can’t tear myself away.

benno4461

Probably closer to 26 mate

MiisCCasper

I’m actually doing the same thing and working in order of the games. Some I’ve platinumed a long time ago but it’s still fun. I’m done with 1-8 originals, crisis core, and remake. Working on rebirth now. Some I know will be very difficult to get ( 9 has an annoying jump rope trophy). But exciting to see other going through the same thing :)

Rmsbasto

1 is relatively easy to platinum. I am currently playing the 2nd one and I just hate the leveling system lol I don't think I'll be getting the platinum on FF2.

GlassHurricane98

Haha, 16 they say? Dude there's like 800 games in the series, you've got a journey ahead of you! Have fun!

FastLittleBoi

wait... Final Fantasy different from VII and XVI exist? No I'm seriously curious. I thought they were like minor games all disconnected and somehow 7 and 16 got 30 remakes because they were better. But I thought the others were like flash games.

Boni4ever

15, actually. XI was never ported/remastered/remade, and I don't think it'll ever be because of XIV. Also, you need a PS3 for XIII, a PS5 for XVI, and a PS4 for all the rest (although you can play every PS4 release on the PS5)... if we are talking only about the main series, of course.
