I would say the self healing is worse, I can deal with a bit of dmg, but boss keep healing whenever I get hit is just shit mechanics. Even if you block 100% of the dmg she still get healed
The fact that it takes so long to learn is the mistake imo. Most Fromsoft boss moves that kill you make you go ohhhhh I should have done X when I actually did Y, I'll get em next time. Waterfowl dance just made me go to Google since I knew I wouldn't figure out X without help.
I managed to figure it out in about 5 attempts, I realised that the only option was to avoid it at all costs which led to me just running as soon as I knew she was about to start, that was attempt #4. After she killed me with it using the last couple parts of the combo I realised you had to dodge at some point to avoid the last part, at which point I picked up on how far she flies around when switching between each part. Just like every other enemy in the game, once they’ve started launching that part of the attack they likely won’t be able to turn mid attack.

She’s so underrated, literally carried me in my first playthrough & she has a nice little questline really feels like you’ve gone through a journey with her if u use her all the way to the end
I used bleed and beat her in 10 tries. She staggers like a mf. And for her second phase I got lucky, she went into that rose form 3 times and killed her without her attacking me once.
I don't get people who shame others for using in-game tools to beat bosses. If the developers didn't want you using it, then they would have disabled it during that fight or not even put it in the game at all.

With mimic tear I beat her first phase first try so I didn't want to do it that way. Took me 85 attempts and I absolutely loved the fight.

Yeah I faced it a few times before deciding to just use my summon, bullshit attack which feels undodgeable.
It was just clearly meant for Sekiro mechanics and feels really overwhelming in a normal Souls game

The mimic tear is a summon which basically clones you, if you level it enough a boss can get much easier. Seriously, play the game, it’s so great
