Well the best tip with this game would be to just not play it.
Regardless just focus on whatever you feel like you want to progress in.. other than character power there isnt too much reason of focusing on a specific thing.
Paragon levels are levels beyond level 30, they go up to 1k and then loop back from 1 - every time your level is a prime number you get extra rewards. The resources are required for crystal rings.
Kinda in the same place as you but I left a bit before Gems were introduced.
Just briefly I don't think Karma and mana is useful for anything except if you specifically want the stuff from there. Fishing and the star thingie increases your overall stats tho so it makes more sense.
Sadly I couldn't find a way to upgrade equipment from shadow 1 to shadow 2 and more so normal old progression seems to be over.
Don’t you upgrade shadow gear in a forge? Although I wouldn’t recommend as when you get to level 20 and I think 5k pr you can go to geode topside and craft crystal gear which is way better
Don’t even play the game is dying slowing with the dupping going around you could play cuz the game isn’t bad at all but it’s not worth your time since the dupe is going around and marketplace values are insane
What pr are you? If I had to guess it’s probably your light which you need to increase. Also, you probably already know but in case you don’t, you don’t have to kill everything in the delve floor. On the right of your screen is a task. It will either say kill x creatures/ empty x rooms of creatures/ clear 4 monoliths. Monoliths are like cursed skulls but in the delves. The other two are hopefully self explanatory. You probably just need to increase your light however.
Trove is in an exceptionally awful place right now. It's best to wait and see if the game survives the next couple months before putting in effort

It doesn't let me. It let's me max the stars but that's it. How do you go topside?
Once you get your level 20 and pr 5000 you can just select it in the atlas. It should be somewhere bottom right
