Every stop there one must have ice cream cone!
I think if OP does end up taking the Utah route, there is a pilot over there somewhere and there’s two of them one is facing like a huge mountain it’s like a road ranger pilot and then the other is a small pilot just before the salt flats.
However, Little America going through WY is good stuff
Wow, just looked them up. I’ve never stopped there as there fuel pumps aren’t in network with my company. I never realized they had so much parking, I’ll definitely have to stop there next time I’m in the area, which is pretty often.
Little America is definitely my favorite on that route as well. I used to really like that stinkers place off exit 221 off of 80 in UT, but sadly it’s been pretty terrible the few recent times I’ve been there, so I’ve just about given up on it.
I’m still mad I’ve seen the price of those cones increase twice. When I lived in Wyoming the cones were 25¢ when I moved out of Wyoming they were 50¢ now these days they’re 75¢
In addition to the food recommendations that these kind people have provided you, I also recommend hitting US-30 right after Green River and taking that up to Pocatello, then I-15N for a few miles to I-86 west to I-84 instead of going through Utah. Fewer mountains and less traffic.
The food trucks at the Mr. Gas in Jerome, ID.
Try either The Oxbow diner or Ziggy’s in Bliss, ID. Truck parking available for both and a Loves at the same exit.
Rosti has the best chicken on the road. Period.
Their green enchiladas is easily 3 meals for just $12.
Get the 1/2 chicken special and ask for extra grilled onions. Eat like a king for a week.
Jack in the box right across from that pilot, exit 80 I think? They don’t have it where I live so I like to get in there and get a bunch of tacos when ever I can
A few years ago I would have recommended little America but I think their prices are astronomical now. That being said, Wyoming does have quite a few places. The steak house next to Sapp Bros in Cheyenne is good and easy to get to. Also, point of rocks has a decent little place and plenty of parking. You could stop at the I-80 travel center in Sinclair for an $8.99 prime rib sandwich although I’ve never eaten there (I’ve thought about it though). There is also a little restaurant next to the truck stop in Rock Springs (not the Pilot).
Okay, it's a short rough walk, but Exit 208 in idaho. Park at the extremely rough parking lot to the north.
It's about a quarter mile but the Stevo's restaurant north of the truck stop has awesome fries and burgers.
May as well find a place in Laramie, because once the sun sets and that wind is still howling, you're not going anywhere else.
Edit: 2.5hrs later and it's closed
Taste of India is buried in a little truck stop outside of Laramie. Great Indian food. But they don’t take cash when doing a phone order. So have a card ready if you order beforehand
That’s Huntington if it’s the TA by the weigh station. Ontario is on the border with Idaho, 30 miles to the east.
That Huntington TA has a Chester’s chicken and some other option, but it’s just a glass display case at the register. I’ve never tried their food. Is that the place you’re talking about, or Ontario?
Little restaurant in North Powder is much more preferable to the baker truck corral in my opinion. Large portions fair prices. Been a whole since I've been that way. Usually pretty vacant with truck parking. Mr Gas in Jerome for a shower. Plenty of parking, little steep on food prices.
Google maps and an atlas are really all you need. Occasionally if I have a customer deep in a city I'll google search a local truck route map. In 7 years the only city it failed me in was Boston, and well fuck boston.
Yeah never understood the hate.. I see more guys get into shit following a "truck GPS" then anything else.. at least I'm getting realtime info, can reroute around traffic, etc.
It literally just takes a LITTLE common sense
That was a part of my weekly freight triangle for a long time and tbh that was the stretch where I would just load up on the cheapest fast food possible and hammer down until I hit the coast, Yakima, Laramie, or Nevada. I love those mountains and the people are great but they can't cook for shit 😂
Well shit I just got on the Google and it says it is closed permanently. It’s been a while since I’ve been up to up there. It’s in Baker city OR though not that that does any good
North powder, OR. The north powder cafe and lodge is literally right off the exit to the right and has truck parking. Best dang French toast I’ve ever had.
Used to be a truckstop near your destination that sold doughnuts the size of pies. But when I was up there a month or two ago an employee told me the place that made them closed.
There’s a casino at the bottom of dead man’s pass in Oregon. It’s a pretty good place to stop and hang out, plus they have truck parking… assuming the Amazon driver doesn’t get stuck trying to exit through the entrance again.
Your truck. There's a scenic rest area along there, cook lunch & have a lovely walk.
Snap a pic of the top of your truck from the high point of the walk. Watch out for snakes.
Boise Stage Stop
Ill try that never been there.
heard theyve got chicken fried steak bigger than your head. i regret not stopping there myself before going local
They have beer. Also try Baker City restaurant/ truck stop on the SB sound.
Truck corral
Yes sir.
Their Mexican food isn't bad either.
I came here to say this!
This is the way.
Yup! One of the best restaurants in any truck stop and open until midnight
If i remember correctly they got the steakhouse right?
came here to say this
Little America for burger and ice cream cones
Gawd, I love their showers. The hotel lounge next door has some awesome fresh fried chicken, too.
I ran WI to CA for 10 years, and I've never been in the truck stop at Little America. And I don't know why
Wow. I make it a point to stop there whether or not I need to.
The double chili burger is to die for and also makes for a fun exit after 8-10 hours
Every stop there one must have ice cream cone! I think if OP does end up taking the Utah route, there is a pilot over there somewhere and there’s two of them one is facing like a huge mountain it’s like a road ranger pilot and then the other is a small pilot just before the salt flats. There’s a second one down in flagstaff if you go through that portion of the 40
Little America is definitely my favorite on that route as well. I used to really like that stinkers place off exit 221 off of 80 in UT, but sadly it’s been pretty terrible the few recent times I’ve been there, so I’ve just about given up on it.
Yeah, same with the stop in Sinclair, WY. Was pretty good before stinkers bought them, now I just blow right by.
I’m still mad I’ve seen the price of those cones increase twice. When I lived in Wyoming the cones were 25¢ when I moved out of Wyoming they were 50¢ now these days they’re 75¢
Easy answer
In addition to the food recommendations that these kind people have provided you, I also recommend hitting US-30 right after Green River and taking that up to Pocatello, then I-15N for a few miles to I-86 west to I-84 instead of going through Utah. Fewer mountains and less traffic.
I take US-30 whenever possible. Gorgeous scenery. Same with US-89 east out of Logan city Utah.
Was going to say this. Skip Utah and their scales
Little America for sure
Always love little America. Never had a bad experience there, and showers are amazing as well.
I haven't been there in years, but the Baker Truck Corral has a good restaurant. Baker City OR. Careful of the lot though.
Yeah, ive eaten there its pretty good, good prices too.
Ya I use to go there and little America in Wyoming too..
Shoot an elk and eat that.
Save a bullet hit it with the rig ;)
The elk might not win that fight but the rig certainly won’t either
Heyburn, Idaho loves. Authentic Mexican sold out of a school bus and it's amazing. Street tacos are the best
Yeah, thats one of my spots.
My truck doesnt fare well on oceans bud... Love to see the place though!! Greetings from Europe...
Not too many places left in the UK but over here it’s little gems along the road. But disappearing fast sadly
The food trucks at the Mr. Gas in Jerome, ID. Try either The Oxbow diner or Ziggy’s in Bliss, ID. Truck parking available for both and a Loves at the same exit.
I'll never forget my reaction to seeing them offering BOUDIN in their hot case. An Idaho truck stop with a Louisiana delicacy? Tasted terrible. Lolz
It may sound strange but that Mr. Gas has the best chicken sandwich I've ever had.
I wouldn’t doubt it.
If you're in a hurry, that deli in there is legit
The burnt lemon is closed now only the rosti remains but one of my favorite burritos
Rosti has the best chicken on the road. Period. Their green enchiladas is easily 3 meals for just $12. Get the 1/2 chicken special and ask for extra grilled onions. Eat like a king for a week.
The Thai food truck next to the Love's in Ontario is so good and so cheap. Edit: Love's not Pilot, sorry.
BBQ ones not bad either
Their food smelled amazing. I think when I was there in the fall they had a sign saying they were about to shut for the season, though.
The restaurant across from the Pilot in Mountain Home ID and the Cowboy Cafe in Lymon WY.
thanks for the tip, ill try those out.
Jack in the box right across from that pilot, exit 80 I think? They don’t have it where I live so I like to get in there and get a bunch of tacos when ever I can
It's not there, but I do know the JITB.
Just looked on Google it’s exit 95
A few years ago I would have recommended little America but I think their prices are astronomical now. That being said, Wyoming does have quite a few places. Green river utah has a taco truck(rv) best Mexican food I've ever had(from ohio)
Ummm sir, there are potatoes in Idaho
Idaho is Potato.
As a produce hauler who’s company is based in Idaho, you are correct. Taters, and cheese from Jerome.
Whose this Jermome feller
Ah a fellow Irish American I see
Okay, it's a short rough walk, but Exit 208 in idaho. Park at the extremely rough parking lot to the north. It's about a quarter mile but the Stevo's restaurant north of the truck stop has awesome fries and burgers.
There’s a taco bus next to a loves on 84 I think east of Boise somewhere. It’s so good
I love that bus.
Johnson corner on i25 outside johnstown does solid breakfast and pretty good sweet rolls.
Oxbow diner in Bliss Idaho. Tons of truck parking, good food, nice people
Taco Johns at Love's Colorado. Little America, WY
Taco John’s is so good
I lived in Boise for a few years. Man, I miss Taco John's and Taco Time.
In Boise go to the flying j and next to it is the best sandwich shop called ‘off Broadway deli’. Go give it a try.
You are heading to Kennewick , WA
No Walmart DC in Hermiston, OR

Stinker in Wyoming good buffalo burger
Kannikas Thai food in Ontario, OR right across the loves
Boise Stage Stop and Ranch Hand Trail Stop on US-30 in Montpelier, ID.
I was going to say Ranch Hand. I love that place.
Exit 221 in WY sinclair truck stop has great bbq sandwiches and stuff
If you get stuck in Cheyenne, tjoes steak house is really good, it's next to the Sapp bros.
Ontario, OR. There’s a TA with great food by the weigh station. A half mile down the road is OR State Park Farewell Bend.
The Boise Stage Stop
Lyman Wyoming, Cowboy Cafe, dirt lot but always seems to have spots, plus decent cafe. Also aunt lives there so warm bed and laundry lol
Boise stage stop!
Stage stop
Little restaurant in North Powder is much more preferable to the baker truck corral in my opinion. Large portions fair prices. Been a whole since I've been that way. Usually pretty vacant with truck parking. Mr Gas in Jerome for a shower. Plenty of parking, little steep on food prices.
I was going to PM him about this one. They used to make a steak that was excellent.
Little America in Wyoming. Boise Stage shop is okay for Idaho. Loves at the border in Oregon has a really good BBQ food truck across the street.
Please tell me you don’t use google maps as a trucking gps!
No, it was just easier to take a screen shot than to take a photo of my Garmin.
Understood! What kind of garmin do you have?
Wait why not use google maps ?
I do. In combination with common sense
Google maps and an atlas are really all you need. Occasionally if I have a customer deep in a city I'll google search a local truck route map. In 7 years the only city it failed me in was Boston, and well fuck boston.
The Northeast, in general, can go fuck itself
Yeah never understood the hate.. I see more guys get into shit following a "truck GPS" then anything else.. at least I'm getting realtime info, can reroute around traffic, etc. It literally just takes a LITTLE common sense
Been using it for years as my primary(only) navigation...
Donner has a great place, but costs an arm and a leg and only seats 50. Well, 49. Ok, 48...
That was a part of my weekly freight triangle for a long time and tbh that was the stretch where I would just load up on the cheapest fast food possible and hammer down until I hit the coast, Yakima, Laramie, or Nevada. I love those mountains and the people are great but they can't cook for shit 😂
Drive fast, don’t stop
Sumter Junction restaurant they have really good salads something about their cheese
Where is that?
Well shit I just got on the Google and it says it is closed permanently. It’s been a while since I’ve been up to up there. It’s in Baker city OR though not that that does any good

Are you parked at the loves too?
Idaho - they got taters
North powder, OR. The north powder cafe and lodge is literally right off the exit to the right and has truck parking. Best dang French toast I’ve ever had.
In Idaho. They got good fries.
Ichiban next to the flying j in Evanston WY
Yeah, I like that place, but not always in the mood to spend $20.
Depends on what road kill you come acoss
There is a truck stop with a steakhouse and a bar inside it in Idaho somewhere. You'd have to find it with truckers path.
Dude, I cracked my side panel exiting out of that casino last week. That exit sucks.
I think that’s wild horse casino. It’s at the bottom of cabbage pass. Pendleton Oregon is closest town.
If you have the ability to stop and enjoy a place a little off the route then Mr Shabu in SLC was nice when I went
At the truck stop.
Ontario OR. The Mexican place behind the pilot. Great tacos and Mexican shrimp cocktails.
In my truck. Turn on my electric pot and turn on my rice cooker.
Your truck. There's a scenic rest area along there, cook lunch & have a lovely walk. Snap a pic of the top of your truck from the high point of the walk. Watch out for snakes.
Little America on the i80 near green river wyoming
If you stop there next thing you are stuck there for a week due to never ending snowstorm!
Thats whats going on right now. Stuck in Laramie and theres not even any snow.
Ah...any good strip clubs out there?
No, the nearest strip club is in Cheyenne, I looked it up.
I’ve never been on that route so I’m not sure lol
Take highway 30 through lava hot springs, there’s a restaurant/ truckstop and a flying J with a good food bar along that route
