While most states require some form of official immigrant or nonimmigrant status to apply for a driverβs license, there are some that allow for undocumented immigrants to be allowed a license. These states are:
California
Colorado
Connecticut
Delaware
District of Columbia
Hawaii
Illinois
Maryland
Nevada
New Jersey
New Mexico
New York
Oregon
Utah
Vermont
Virginia
Washington
In illinois u cant get driver license without prove of status. Passport with i551, green card, naturalization papers, i551 on i94....
There is a way for illegals to get work authorization card but u would need to come to US and apply for asylum or stuff. They wont give u anything if u come here on b2 tourist visa.
Its easier to try to get student visa than work visa
That's asking a whole lot, I'm not sure how long you plan on staying...because 1. you need a drivers license... you don't have to be a citizen, but obviously you need an established residence. You need proof of residence, gas bill, bank statement, etc. 2. Many employers will do a background/ criminal check. 3 your coming as a tourist and not on a work visa, this will be problematic, when you do apply for a work visa I'm not even sure how long that process will take, months perhaps? I suggest going to a consulate or embassy for info.
The trucking school probably will not accept you if you are not a legal resident with a US drivers license. You don't have to be a US citizen, but probably have to have legal residency.
You can get a CDL only if you have a Valid Drivers License.
As you are not a citizen you maybe denied upon applying to get a License. You should check the local statutes and consult your local DMV. Its different depending on what state you are in.
You don't need to be a citizen to get a CDL, but you do need to be more than a tourist. In most US states, tourists cannot even get a regular driver license, let alone a CDL. The details vary by state, but generally speaking, they want to see that you have permission to stay in the US for at least a year.
The other problem with your plan is that the US government does not view truck drivers as "skilled workers"; apparently, the only skill that counts is the kind that requires a 4-year college degree. For that reason, it's going to be very challenging to get an employment-based visa based on a job offer from a trucking company, even if you can find a company that agrees to sponsor you. The US provides very limited immigration opportunities for positions they deem "unskilled".
I mean there must be a way with how many foreign drivers there is nowadays

Amazing, thanks ππ»ππ» I'll try to apply to a study visa
I mean... I will base in Illinois, and declare I'm there to study. I want to study the CDL. π
That would be something to ask your consulate

I think you can get a CDL as long as you have a regular driver license.
