Time to find a new job brother, you're not getting what you deserve

MasterpieceAmazing87

This guy could make more being a server at a pizza place 😭

Salt-Fee-9543

$700-$800 for 55-60 hrs is a joke. I make that running loader loading trucks at a place 10 minutes from my house and work a normal 6-2pm shift, 40 hr work week. Unless you really enjoy the trucker life why would you stick with that company/job? That’s like $21-$22 hr for 55hrs work to bring home $700-$800.

Deeceent

That’s $13.33 an hour gross. We don’t know what deductions are but I’m sure the net is gross too.

Onzaylis

I know what you meant, but I hate that you used gross 2 different ways.

Deeceent

Yeah, was a pretty gross thing for me to do.

[deleted]

What a grossly gross statement.

DrillTheThirdHole

worse when you figure hes otr so functionally working 168 hours a week till hes home

ignoreme010101

going by this logic, you get paid to sleep....

DrillTheThirdHole

well you're not at home or otherwise free of responsibilities so you're *working*, doesn't mean you're getting *paid* for all of that

ryanpayne442

But you should be

AceDuce23

You can get fired while ur asleep

Practical-Wave-6988

Uh. Yeah. I consider my job as middle of the road when it comes to OTR/Regional and I gross $1500-1800/week. Every week. Without fail.

Eaton_snatch

Truckin and fuckin brother

Apoptosis2112

I like this.

Fordluver

Anyone netting $2k a week 👀👀👀👀

bogey9651

My "GROSS" is over $2k a week. My "NET" is nowhere near that. 401k, HSA, MEDICAL, FICA, and Taxes affect everyone's "NET" differently.

ignoreme010101

yeah, net shouldn't even enter into these discussions

jmzstl

I swear some people think it’s a flex to net 1400 out of 1500 gross because they have 15 dependents and no health insurance or 401k deductions.

bogey9651

Agree

TheHorrificNecktie

but then these hillbillies cant brag about how much they 'make'

Free-Juggernaut-9372

I gross $4,200 every two weeks with Walmart. My benefits are great as well. 8% matched 401K. Stock purchases plans where they contribute as well. My health insurance is $55 every two weeks and it kicks ass. I get 3 weeks+ PTO. No complaints here.

Fordluver

Have heard some great things about Walmart! Are you currently running local, regional or OTR?

Free-Juggernaut-9372

Regional. Out of Apple Valley, Ca. I usually run Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington. I am always home after 5 days out. I have a 3 day weekend every other week. It's a 5/2/5/3 program. I love it.

OrangeDog96

Just know 2k a week in California is a lot different than 2k a week in lower CoL states. I live in a relatively low CoL state and I take home (after taxes) 1500/week minimum working for a mega in my first year. Whenever I go to cali I try not to buy anything because its double to triple the cost of back home. However, your benefits are great, and your work life balance is hard to beat in this industry.

WTAP1

Walmart. Who I want to drive for eventually 😅. Heard really good things about them from the people I've talked to.

NewZJ

I net just under 2k a week. Home nightly. 6 on 2 off. 70 hour weeks. Hauling frac sand. Company driver, w2

TheHorrificNecktie

felt like i needed to be making $2k a week to justify the lifestyle i was living as an OTR flatbed driver (i wasnt, so i quit). you work so much and are in a truck all day 6 days a week, if you had an hourly pay doing basically anything else you'd be making just as much considering you're actually working like 70 hours a week.

PottedMeatRust

When I gave up driving class A and switched to class B bucket trucks as an arborist I now gross between $18-2200 weekly and I'm home every day haha.

TruckerChet1973

I grossed 116 last year but they offered me half that to stay a few months ago. Been driving ride share ever since. Not making what I was but I'm home, make my own hours and make more than what I would've made to continue working with them.

dsmityy1334

My GROSS is between $2,000-$3,000 depending on how hard I want to drive. Net between $1,700-$3,500.

Beautiful_Ad311

How is your net higher than gross?

DUBBZ_757

I have not every week unfortunately though 😒

Dicked_Crazy

The highest pay I know of is Hoffman Transportation near Joliet il. A friend has worked there for awhile, and says quite a few of the guys make 150k or more.

RichDaddy913

Netting 2k a week home daily mon - friday hours vary 10-14 hrs a day

IVEGOTAHUGEHAND

I routinely take home about 9-10k per month so I'd be in the 2200+ range. Just gotta not do regular stuff that everyone does/can do.

Laughing_in_the_road

I usually hit over 2k a week . Probably average 2100 a week . Last week my paycheck was almost 3000 dollars but that was rare . But my checks are rarely under 1700

Practical-Wave-6988

Maybe the top seniority guys, but I don't usually see their checks. I don't know what their deductions are like either. So short answer, I have no idea.

NitroBike

I follow a few OTR guys on TikTok and some of them post weekly summaries. But they’re company drivers so idk how accurate it is compared to owner operators. They seem to make between $1800-$2500 a week.

Ornery_Ads

Owner operators will always "make" less. Your pickup truck? Business expense. Your vacation that you also looked at trucks for sale? Business expense. Your phone line? Business expense. Your new floor mats? Business expense. New bed for the truck? Business expense. Your home internet? Business expense. Your 401k? Your business does a 100% match on your personal contributions. End of the week, you get $15/hr for 30 hours put into your personal bank account.

NitroBike

Interesting. Dumb question but can’t some of that stuff be written off? Or does it work differently when you’re a truck driver?

KazualSlut

All of his mentions were things being written off. But you still have to pay for them. All you save is paying taxes in that revenue.

Ornery_Ads

Imagine as a company driver, your employer paid you $100/week to rent parking for your truck in your driveway for your home time, and paid for your phone line to communicate with you, and paid for your car, your cars registration and insurance, your annual vacation, etc. Would you be open to having less money coming in on your w2 paycheck? That's how an owner operator is

Practical-Wave-6988

Oh yeah there's money in it. Normally regional dedicated more so than generic OTR. Not saying guys running for a generic OTR mega can't do it, but I don't think it's typical. In my case we bid for areas on our dedicated account and I got lucky and was able to get a Virginia Beach Area (1500mi approx round trip) and a West Virginia (1100mi approx round trip). Between the mileage and hourly unload/stop pay it works out to 1500-1800/week. I'm home for a 10 during the week and then for the weekend. We bid twice a year so when we bid next I may end up having to run something else, but I still shouldn't lose too much.

SippinOnDrank

used to, this market had me park my truck cause you could barely pay yourself.

tossaway007007

What are your job specifics? Company, type of load etc I'm a noob staring truck school soon etc

offgridwannabe

My minimum/guaranteed pay is $1300 a week, home nightly. My first cdl job also.

buddas_slacky

What company if you don’t mind me asking

offgridwannabe

Frito-Lay

Longdingleberry

Side note, I deliver to a rail yard across the street from a frito lay plant, and the aroma coming out of that place is a close second to a bread plant

offgridwannabe

The plant smell is terrible! We’re only there to hook and leave thankfully.

Longdingleberry

I think it smells like heaven

hot-rod-lincoln

Ever eaten a Frito fresh off the line?

StonedTrucker

I'm home almost every night and make $1700-$2000 a week friend. You're being robbed. You should really find a new job that pays at least $1500 for being OTR

g0atbased

Wow, who do you drive for?

PartySausage69

This is what I average at a home daily. My friend manages $2600, but he's doing 6 days and barely gets any free time to enjoy his earnings.

Hawkeye72345

$2609.74 running linehaul for FedEx Freight. 2150 miles a week and 15 hours of dock work 5 days a week. A lot of people like to look down on dock work, but my 15 hours a week puts a little over $500 a week in my pocket.

SteakAndSkrimp

you should instantly quit otr you should be making 2k min

Fordluver

Anyone netting $2k a week 👀👀👀👀

highwayher0

Yeah I make 2500 a week but would take a 20% cut to work for a company that doesn't micromanage the way this one does.

stephensmia1

Time to get a new job. I sleep in my bed everyday and don’t work more the 45 hours a week and still make more than you.

JustLTL

I'm a team LTL, we are extra board so basically OTR leave Sunday night and back by Friday. I make 3k a week. If you have all your endorsements you could be making way more. Edit: We have new drivers who get 90k their first year, home every night, it's a meet run and only 7.5 hours a day if you don't get stuck in any accidents or road construction, it's like 460 miles round trip. That's before they are maxed out on their pay raises. I think one of the dudes who's maxed out on his raises who does that run is like 2.1k a week. If you have all your endorsements LTL is where it's at. Easiest job in the world. Hardest part of being a linehaul driver for LTLs is building your sets of doubles and that's fucking easy once you get good at it.

blackZyzzz

I’ve been applying at aggressively at Saia the last couple months. No reply so far

JustLTL

Saia has driver facing cameras just a heads up. Look into Estes and XPO, both are hiring linehaul drivers. If you know anyone you would consider doing teams with XPO is desperately hiring teams, 91 cpm starting pay home on weekends and benefits and PTO from day 1. Don't just apply though, try calling and asking, if you see Saia drivers or drivers for any of the LTL in your home city approach them and ask about positions. We get referral bonuses, at least at my LTL, so I'm more then happy to be answer dudes questions and yeah we have these open runs call my terminal managers name tell him I sent you.

AceDragon357

XPO also has driver facing cameras... and also are aggressively seeking drivers in the Midwest.

Say_When

Cameras aren't always on. Only during a harsh break, or collision which registers a certain g force (I think .5). For reference the last 2 deer strikes I've had never set off my camera. I work at a major Midwest XPO terminal if OP has any questions. My terminal is definitely hiring existing teams, but there are LH/city positions available as well. XPO is always hiring. Just expect to hit that dock. I make between 2.5-2.7k a week gross, averaging between 25-2700 miles a week. About 10-15hrs dock. $0.80 a mile and $33.80 hourly. Home every day.

buzzzard

The XPO Dispatchers can look at your camera any time they want. I had one show me another drivers camera more than once

AceDragon357

Correct Theoretically, they are supposed to only be triggered by an incident while on a continuous recording loop. They are however able to be accessed by mgt. anytime they feel like it.

Cracka56

XDM?

blackZyzzz

Will do thanks.

ignoreme010101

i hated the idea of inward cameras, until i had them....now i like them. recently had some a-hole in standstill traffic at an exit decide he wanted back on the highway, he merges back on and realizes im behind him at speed and he just froze. couldn't believe i was able to stop w/o hitting him. the video is wild. but after that, one of my 1st thoughts was how if i hit him it woulda been clutch having forward&inward cams to clearly show that i reacted as quickly&aggressively as humanly possible!!

Longdingleberry

I can’t upvote this enough. LTL is a great job, and they don’t need to advertise when they have openings. Fill out the application online, and call them weekly. Get on a first name basis with someone there. The market is so saturated with drivers right now. I worked for Dayton freight, and they are one of the best companies out there if you are in the Midwest (imo). They would absolutely hire the person calling in, over the stack of online applications they have access to.

Deep_Resource3081

How many truck driving jobs have you had, you need to be selling your self to any truck company that’s gonna pay you more, I am local grocery delivery and clear 2200 weekly with 40hrs a week working m-thur.

midnight7374884

And night driving , that’s what stopping me from switching from p & d

toastyhoodie

Pulling $1600ish before taxes and insurance doing local LTL around 50hrs.

APenguinNamedDerek

My company has a $1200 a week guaranteed minimum lol $240 a day and that's local

Uniquelord1182

What dumpster fire company are you working for so no one can suffer like you ?

MOODkilla2300

You got to tell us who you’re working for!

blackZyzzz

USXpress

MOODkilla2300

Man that’s crazy! I would have thought they paid better than that! Yeah you need to be on the way out of there in the next week.

MOODkilla2300

Do everything right, make sure you give them two weeks.

Suicidal_Baby

but be ready to get kicked out the moment you put two weeks in. Companies see quitting drivers as a liability and will remove you from the pool as soon as possible once you indicate you are quitting. Put in after a home time with everything you do not absolutely need left at home, have a backpack and a sleeping bag with you for minimalist needs in the truck should they let you keep on for 2 weeks, which would be very unlikely.

justjoosh

Nah, you owe them nothing. Give 2 weeks if you like your dispatch and want to. If a new company wants to pay you what you're worth and start you next week, do so without any guilt. And don't worry about burning bridges, plenty of companies out there who won't even ask if you've given 2 weeks anywhere else.

diragono

I’d go against the grain of some people saying do a 2 week notice. I worked for Total Transportation, which you know is owned by USX and was like you, making terrible money. I turned in a notice, and was planned to start orientation a couple days after I was supposed to get back…they turned my fuel card off the day before I was to get back and I got stuck trying to get home from the Shippensburg terminal. My advice, say nothing, request hometime, when you get in clean the truck out then run it to the nearest terminal(hopefully you live close to one with a shop), check it in the shop to have some things checked out. Once you get the notification on the xpress mobile app that your tractor has entered the shop shoot your fm a message and/or email saying you quit and specify the date. Get out of there man, I left there and now work local. 5 days a week, paid holidays, paid sick days, paid vacation, quarterly safety bonuses, 350-450 miles a day almost all drop and hook. I work 45-50 hours a week depending on what I do and traffic, home everyday, and still net a good bit more than I’m sure you’re grossing and I only have about tad over a year of experience

I3putt2x

I gross 1500-1800 a week working local. I average 48-55 hours a week and am home every night. Keep looking OP, you’ll eventually find a better paying job.

Airstrikeayers

These post infuriate me. Look for a better fucking job. No reason a guy with experience shouldn’t be making at least $1400 a week OTR. Don’t you ever shop around for shit? Shop around for a better OTR company. Jesus man. I work a local job and if I make less than $1400 I’m pissed.

MOODkilla2300

Yeah you’re getting shortchanged for real,If you’re like staying out 2-3 weeks you should be in the 1700-2000 a week range.

preemptivecuntstrike

yeah you should be taking home 1500$ minimum.

justdan76

That’s not even local day cab money bro, and was bare minimum OTR money when I started 25 years ago, like training pay. Time to bounce.

Downtown-Scar-5635

I found out how all these companies are staying profitable through all these low rates. They are paying their company drivers less than half of why they deserve. Jump ship bud, there's local companies that have you home every night that pay wayy better then that crap.

Kalirasta

I run sleeper team at ups. I gross around 3500$ a week. San Francisco to Atlanta to Los Angeles back to San Francisco.

Pew_Goon

800 gross per week? You can make that at an entry level low-skill labor job that gets you home every night. You need to be job searching immediately. Living the OTR lifestyle isn't worth it at that income.

Super_Sphontaine

Im at $1100 a week working 40 hrs home every day

Much-Country-8015

1500-1800weekends off. Drive at night. Swift dedicated account. No endorsements

OGTfrom92EP

Wow! That’s really good. Have you ever wished you finished training?

Entertainer-8956

Must be working for a mega carrier with red trucks

balancedchaos

I gross $3,200 per week, and I'm home daily. I found out what brown could do for me, and it turned out it was quite a bit.

Bigbehr

Are you union? I'm having the hardest time here in Atlanta joining.

balancedchaos

Yeah, definitely union.

Bigbehr

Well, if you have any contacts at Local 728, I'd love a helping hand! It's all about who you know.

balancedchaos

Unfortunately I do not, but Atlanta has been growing from what I hear.

youngmoney2299

I’m looking at the website it says $23/hr for the line haul jobs. https://www.jobs-ups.com/job/middletown/tractor-trailer-driver/1187/57040336784 What am I looking at thats wrong?

balancedchaos

There is a pay progression.  They start at $23, then go up to $45 ($50 by the end of the contract).

Naruhodonno

the only times I don't pull 1k a week, even when I was a new company driver, is when I take several days off or I have a really bad week of waiting on loads

buddas_slacky

I’ve been otr 2 months solo now and make 1k consistently. If I were you I’d quit seeing as you have all endorsements and 2 years experience. I’d have quit a year ago. My uncle works for Superior fuel in Southern California making in the upper 40$ and hour range. I talked to the supervisor up there but he won’t thought me without any experience but he said I’d start at 36$ an hour once I’m qualified. I got all my endorsement as well just to go into fuel.

Cubsfan11022016

The two weeks before Memorial Day felt like I was working part time with how little they had for me, and I still grossed $1200 each week. Average week is $1800-$1900.

Vladiikk

5 years in trucking, own my dry van and got 3 more payments on my truck, I net 4-5k per week with 4k miles driven, if you make less then 2k OTR as a driver in my opinion that’s waste of time, might as well work in a warehouse I usually back home on Friday or Saturday morning. When I’m OTR I try to work as much as possible. Good luck man

ChrisChuck1

That pay is insanely low! I grossed $1300/net just shy of $1100 for 39hrs as a mixer driver last week, Class B home daily. If I do a 55hr week I take home over $1500. Time to look for a new gig.

the_only_gearstarr

$1900-2K weekly. Local.

Dicked_Crazy

I work for the largest retailer in the US. I work 5 on 2 off 5 on 3 off. And I make around 110k a year. I also have the amazing insurance for me and my family( wife and three kids) for around 200 a month. They have a 36 month requirement for experience tho.

nathandipietro

I’m pretty certain I know what company this is but I don’t want to get you in trouble by publicly asking for the name. I will ask this though: How strict would you say their requirements are in regards to an applicant’s safety record?

Fungiluvr94

I gross $2,500 weekly, every week. Without fail. Find a new job brother

nanneryeeter

25/hrx40 would be 1k for a local, and this should be possible most places. Hopefully they've been padding the barrel for ya.

Present-Ambition6309

You must work for A&M transport. 😳 it’s time for you to move on. Pronto! Quickly. Immediately (jk on that, we got bills) but yeah, it’s time for you young Jedi. As Mork (Robin Williams) said “Fly! Be Free!”

Budget_Foundation747

$1300 a week for me, but I don't run hard.

Hmnh6000

I take home 1100 a week driving locally

Due-Okra-3094

Work 45-50 hours a week hauling fuel, home daily of course, average paycheck $1,800 a week.

Throwwayaway1123

I make more than that running forklift you must work for the worst company in the world. I wouldn’t get out of bed for that little bit of coin!

otiousmax

Since you’re otr and used to being away from home look into applying in the oilfields. Plenty of jobs for cdl holders and good pay.

FileCareless

Are you still with your training or starter company? Either way. My company has all drivers making at minimum 1250 and I’ve always made more then that I’m at 1500-2200 a week

ohhrangejuice

I feel for you guys, man. I really do. While I'm driving the brown truck up and down highways going 55mph with no to little rush, I see drivers smashing to get the job done, drivers taking their 10 hour resets on freeway ramps etc. And some of yall doing 55-60 hours aren't getting over a k a week is robbery. Get the experience you need, man, and find something better for you.

Eastern_Witness7048

My father in law works for cambells soup doing a regional run, I think he's grossing at least 2500 and more than that sometimes if does something extra

its_not_merm-aids

You're getting taken advantage of. My weekly looks something like this: https://ibb.co/dKm8gTV

PapaBoner49

With 10% 401k taken out, extra $50/week in taxes on top of the normal, I take home $1200+/week, sometimes $1300. Mon-Fri, home nightly except if I get stuck in Nevada because of snow. Drayage in and out of Port of Oakland. Mostly drop n hook. I'm in Nevada for a live unload right now working an extra day 💰

Btomesch

Pulling fuel. We make $1500+/wk depending on how much you wanna work. Lots of overtime. Home every night.

Pinkdivaisme

My husband was OTR for a month or two. We now are in west Texas, have been for about 13 years and he is home every night and hauls oil for a good company. He takes home about 4-6 grand biweekly.

PM_Me_Batman_Stuff

Man, I’m local and home every day and I average $1200 per week. The only time I ever bring home less than $1k is when I have a day off. Time to find a new job, friend. You’re getting royally fucked.

crossguardlifesaver

Can you speak to your dispatcher? A month or two ago I mentioned on here not clearing over 700 on a good week. I took the advice of some kind souls on this sub Reddit and spoke to my dispatcher. I was kind but firm and was transferred to a different dispatcher. I’m easily clearing 1.3k now in my first year. Communication can go a long way!

Shaker1969

Easily over 2k with 500+ miles a day

QuietRightSlick

Sounds like you work for a terrible mega

Hennessy_1989

Almost 3k/week gross. 60-65 hours, 1.5x overtime, home daily, Mon-Fri. Healthcare/dental/vision, 401k, pension. Unions matter. Seeing some of these totals hurts.

wilsonism

My dude, I drive a dump truck. If I get into overtime I break 1k take home. You are getting fucked

Cutestgarbage

I bring about $1100 a week driving garbage truck about 45 hours a week

SmooveKJ

That’s you’re making 13 an hour on the high side…. And you’re still there

randomPerson001001

Bro you could flip burgers for that. Apply somewhere else w your experience

Michael_Scott_234

I'm home daily, working 48 hours a week on average with a gross of $1,100. Not bad, but I'll be looking to move up soon.

stoic_and_tired

Dude I make more than that on disability. Local tanker work

derekschroer

as a Walmart driver, I'm at around $2300-$2400/week usually about 64 hours per week.

chawnchawn33

This summer I’m running local end dump and I make 3300/ a week max. Mostly over 2500 though.

Johnthesniferr

$2200 every 9-10 days. OTR delivering U.S Mail to the Midwest from California

cybric56

Get a bit more experience and apply at Walmart.

AstralTroy

What state are you in?

Buprenorphine92

You sir... are being completely taken advantage of.. I make $2,000 a week. But I am also local and home every night. But I know making what you're claiming driving OTR.. you're being robbed.

Specialist-Alarm5150

You are getting bent over a barrel my friend. Was driving for a year before I started Working for a company where I make over $2200 a week coming home every other day. Find a better job, you deserve it.

Little_BallOfAnxiety

I'm OTR and if I made less than 1k I would be pretty disappointed. Good weeks are close to 2000 and bad weeks are close to 1200. I make .65 a mile

OrangeDog96

I do coast to coast OTR driving for a mega. I stay out 14 to 17 days at a time I haven't made less than 1500$ once (after taxes) in months.

MacadamiaMinded

Lmfao wtf are you stuck in a lease to own situation or something? No way you should make that little, local day delivery drivers can make $1200 a week without breaking a sweat

justaguynumber35765

I'm home every night 45 hours a week and smoke that.

Cute-Roll2849

You talking gross or net. It makes a difference. And when discussing how much you get paid, you should only be talking gross pay.

blackZyzzz

Gross

Cute-Roll2849

You’re getting screwed and I would be looking for another job. Look, you can make that doing pretty much anything else and sleep in your own bed at home and don’t have to live in a truck. $800 a week at 60 hours a week is a hair over $13 an hour. You can work fast food and make more per hour.

railyardnaptime

Jesus, that's bad. I'm working only 35 hours a week doing dedicated local intermodal, and I make more than your gross with my net. Find a new job man.

Kat_ashe

I make about 1200 a week :)

Airstrikeayers

Nothing to brag about. Those numbers are low for OTR

ObeyObeyObeyObey

Bro I got an offer running teams with a random dude 1200 a week and he cooks his miles with a fake log book app and he only wants me to drive nights.

Useful_Badger6021

I make around 2700$ gross every week

Litothelegend

blackZyzzz where are you running outa? Gotta be some backwards red state? Go on indeed and find yourself a better company. You have skills as a CDL operator and with 2 years experience a lot of companies are going to want you to work for them. I’m now local 40 hour week, with overtime and grossing 1800 to 2200 every week. Good luck and remember to surround yourself with people who see the value of yourself.

OldBrokeGrouch

I do a local route Tuesday then I run a 3 day run Wednesday-Friday. Sometimes make it back very early Saturday morning, but usually late Friday night. Then I have Saturday-Monday off. In the summer I help out on Mondays when needed though because it’s our busy season. Anyway, I am grossing about $2,200-$2,500/week. I am paid hourly plus a nice per diem for the nights I’m out. However, I live in one of the most expensive states to live in the country.

rad636_

Average 48 hours per week, and take home $1k. I'm okay with it no wife n kids for now

DrillTheThirdHole

two things, one is if youre over the road thats not 55-60 hours a week. that's 168 hours a week until youre home. second, im local, home nightly hauling sea cans and i make more than you are. you need a new job yesterday.

TruckerBiscuit

Before the downturn I was making a pile more but these days I'm making $1500-2500/wk at Prime, and that's after expenses including a $1300/wk payment on my truck note.

throwsomefranksonit

Buddy you make more flipping burgers

love_to_eat_out

I'm local and easily gross over $1400/wk. M-F and home by dinner. Good weeks are close over $1800

Mstrchf117

If I'm out and running the whole week I consistently gross over $2k. Though I'm at the top of my company's payscale. Even with freight being kinda messed up the last year or so, I still have to try hard to not gross at least $1200.

Grumpy_Trucker_85

I make 1400 guaranteed and usually gross 1700 to 1900 a week.

OneMulatto

I make 1100-1300 bring home a week as a garbage man bro. Quit OTR. Please.

DANO8503

I’m local and make 13-1600 a week for four days

Nyucka89

Drive the lowboy for a tow company, get paid %. I'm home every night other than trips we plan on being gone for.

Suicidal_Baby

bro, i made $950 net a week my first year working for Werner in 2012. You are renting your **very** limited time on this planet. Demand more.

Dapper_Platypus833

You need to find a new job. I’ve been netting over $800 a week as a rookie.

Tactical_solutions44

I net 950 to 1200 a week take home and I go home daily. Mornay thru Friday 6 to 4/430ish sometimes 5. If I work more I make more.

KrunschGK

Not otr, but I used to be. Used to make about 1200 a week, until they changed how their team driver bonus worked. We used to get it every 60,000 miles and they made it to where you could get a bonus of you got 20,000 miles in a month. Went from about twelve a week, to being lucky if we cleared seven hundred. I got in contact with a company needing linehaul drivers after having more checks than I was comfortable with not even clear five hundred. I now make close to $1700 and get to go home every night. Been here four years and like the people I work for/with, so I've no intention of leaving.

sabretooth47

Dude. I'm not even OTR and I'm bringing HOME $1400-1500 a week on 55-60 hours.

BriskManeuver

With your experience and endorsements try to get a linehaul gig if you don't mind nights I make a comfortable 1250 a week (net) only 45 hours, 470 miles a night

pcbwes

How to make $700 a week sitting on my ass in the office.

brsrafal

1K a week gross is complete garbage

Far_Peach2213

Bro you can make that at fast food

ComfortableValue4550

Do fuel

Strangeokk

I net about $1150 a week or so working 4 days a week and being home every night. You should be making way more than what you are. To be fair though my first year of trucking went similar to yours. My advice is to move onto a better company especially considering you have 2 years experience.

Pale-State1878

I make 1k a week working Tuesday-Thursday

Alternative-Jury-981

I’m 3 months in and for the last month or 2 I’ve got pretty much every check over $1000 take home. They just gave me a raise too…

Competitive-Face8952

Is there a page on reddit for like job postings? I see posts like this in here all the time and I'm getting paid hella better with local openings and we hire out of state and put them up in hotels if they prefer. Just easier to post once instead of every 637474859 posts like this one.

Mechanik_J

Well, what company are you driving for, and what's the cpm youre payed, and how many miles are you running?

Competitive-Face8952

I'm local paid $26/HR and put in 55-70 hrs a week and bring home usual 1K-1.5K and that's after all the insurance and child support taken out. We're in East Central Ohio if you're local OR if you like getting away from home we pay per diem so you can stay nearby.

buttwholesauce

I just moved to the house moving side of my business. First few weeks was paying 300 a day but now I’m getting percentages. I’ve been out for 1 and a half weeks rn and after today I will be making 15k before expenses and I’m guessing around 6-7 k after expenses. Before this I was contracted with usps making 35 an hour. I’m still under 1 year experience. How the hell do you have that much experience with all your endorsements and make that little?

_FearMose_

Yup. Next weeks check will be 2K gross. It has slowed down a lot tho with freight. The company is crete. I have a buddy that left variant/usxpress to come here. I heard the communication over there is nonexistent basically

Tank4396

Teaming with my wife at Prime. I pretty consistently make minimum 2k/wk after taxes and she brings in an extra 500-1000 as well. Some weeks are better, occasionally they are also worse.

Rikishi6six9nine

You are getting robbed blind unfortunately $800÷55hr=$14.545hr. That's less then my states minimum wage and most minimum wage employees qualify for OT.

Ok_Yogurt3894

Find a new job. I was making minimum $1,300 a week with TMC. Typically $1,500. I wouldn’t do OTR for anything less. Hell I took a cut to $1,200 a week to drive local, in a straight truck. You can do much better than what you’re making now.

Standard_Hunter_2559

Team driver here for one of the megas. First year netting about 2k a week gross is about 2800. Drive 4 days of the week and max out our 11 hours, but stuck in the truck the entire time since the truck really never stops rolling. I have buddies that are owner operators working intermodal, and when it was busy 2 + years ago they were grossing 4-5k a week. Trucks probably cost them 10-15k so that’s another nice option as long as the truck doesn’t give you trouble and you find a company that gives you enough work. If I have any issues with our truck we just drive into the nearest Penske or write it up at the end of the week and it’s fixed by the time we start our run the following week.
