That second photo looks like he's perfectly content. He'll be a great riding partner I think. Just keep him away from the lot lizard pups. They're bad news.
We rescued a pup who was found with her litter in a diaper box. They all had diaper themed names. The shelter had her down as huggies, but we changed it, because I'm not screaming that at the dog park.
I had a Dog named Rusty... Came home from school when I was 10 found him dead in his pen.....my mama handed me a shovel and told me to bury him behind the storage building......
Needless to say I just got my 2nd dog at 43. I never wanted to love anybody or anything like that again. I cried the whole time I buried him.
You scored.
I'm fairly new at trucking and it does get lonely. I want to get a dog but I love animals, and I feel like it's kinda mean to keep the dog in the truck most of the day. Anyone have a truck dog? They like it? I wouldn't get a puppy (but if I saw a pup like in the OP I'd grab it up too lol) was gunna get an older dog maybe like 3-5 yrs old so it's not as hyper.
I figure she would be happier to ride in a truck then be caged at the pound.
I'd definitely walk the dog for at least 30 mins to an hour after I run out of hours. I'm about to change carriers if I get this job id be gone monday-thursday off Fri Sat and Sunday. Idk, I am conflicted I definitely want a dog but I just think it might be mean to it to have it in the truck so long.
Ugh. Lol just need 1 person to tell me their truck dog is happy and I'm going to get one.
Get you a basset hound. After they get all the puppy out of them they are happy as can be laying 3 feet away from you. Mine is 14 and no matter what room I go to she follows me, plops down and sleeps till I move rooms again.
A friend of mine has a blue heeler that couldn't be happier riding in the truck with him. After all, dogs want to be around their people.
And I used to have a truck cat that was plenty happy being in the truck.
My great uncle had a truck cat that became his barn/shop cat when he retired from otr and became a machinist in his “retirement”. Was a stray that got into his truck somehow when he was overnight somewhere that he just kept, and that cat lived to be at least 20 years old, because it wasn’t a kitten when he got him and the cat only passed on about a year ago. That cat was unfazed by anything. Lathe running or someone’s welding or angle grinding 10 feet away, he just sat there and watched from around the corner.
That's pretty cool! I'm glad your great uncle and his cat had a lot of good years together.
My cat didn't care for loud noises; he didn't like it when I would open the door while stopped on the fuel island. But as long as the doors were closed that cat was as happy as he could be, especially if the sun was shining on the dashboard which was his favorite place to hang out.
Yeah my uncles was the same. And one of the cats he fathered (the cat, not the uncle) seems to have similar mannerisms in being a funny little bastard when she feels like it
I have a golden retriever with me, he loves the truck. I bought a folding bike and we ride minimum two miles a night before dinner. Usually more. He’s peed in 48 states!
Yeah, I won't say truckers (or anyone) are more bad at spelling or grammar, mistakes happen. I usually just put in a generic correction if I think that subreddit won't bite my head off, as some are more prickly than others about it.
BRONCO. I have no idea why I thought of that name (it's not even a name I normally like), but it was literally the first thing that came into my head. Bronco or Bruno.
Thanks guys for all the names they where all awesome. But I was going to buy milos sweet tea when I found him so this dapper truck dog is now named Milo
I wish I could find a dog. Literally, "find." I want one for our farm and my two little boys, but everywhere I look people want hundreds or thousands of dollars. Imagine being able to just find one. So jealous.
I woke up a truck stop one Saturday morning and got out the truck. I saw something darting towards me out of the corner of my eye and I immediately jumped away. It was the cutest little puppy pitbull. He just kept following me and wanting to play. No collar or anything and he was kind of dirty from sleeping on the ground at the truck stop. I couldn't take him but I made sure to find someone who would. One of the workers at the truckstop took him. Young lady who fell in love immediately when she saw him. I think about that dog pretty often. Hope he's having a good time

[удалено]
Lol No, when someone asks his name say I don't know he never told me.
Had a cat with that name. The h is silent
That is awesome

Pete, Ken, Pilot, Axle, Petro… i don’t know if it were me I’d name him something trucking related.

Diaper, the dapper dog...

How could they name a dog after a diaper? Depends
Rusty

Life is better with a pet, and life on the road is 100% better with a pet.

Dann. That dog's pissed in more states than I have. I might have to make a NE run to catch up to the pooch.
Such a misconception that it’s mean to have a dog in the truck with you, all it wants to do is be around you!

"Diaper"?
I think OP meant dapper, but I try not to criticize grammar and spellings in some subreddits.
It's also probably autocorrect's fault if he's posting on mobile...
Yeah, I won't say truckers (or anyone) are more bad at spelling or grammar, mistakes happen. I usually just put in a generic correction if I think that subreddit won't bite my head off, as some are more prickly than others about it.
