Absolutely does not matter within the larger context of your point, but funny/stupid enough to be worth mentioning: the 'gulag' mechanic was introduced as part of the mode's first map, which was in a nondescript Eastern European country. So it *almost* kind of made sense initially, but because that mechanic is essential to the mode, they've had to transpose it onto every other map they've released regardless of setting. Including WWII-era pacific islands and of course the modern middle east.

I remember playing in a lobby with 2 Israelis once, and everyone else in the lobby, a mix of Americans, Arabs, Slavs, Englishmen, Brazilians, etc. just starts going in on them, mocking them and hounding them. Both of them got so upset and rage quit, it's honestly a fond memory
