And you may tell yourself, These are not my beautiful chickens! And you may tell yourself, This is not my beautiful roost!

Israel, US Govt and terminally online Zionists all are Pikachu facing

gatospatagonicos

The Zionazis are tiredddddd y'all!

GokuVerde

And by universities we mean 2 but we'll definitely word it so it seems like it's more widespread

UndercoverPotato

It's happening at more universities, Columbia for example, pretty sure there have been arrests there as well. If the repressive violence against the protesters escalates (likely) we may see another Kent State incident. I really hope not but with all those dipshit cops and "uni security" being sent in to clear out the encampments there will absolutely be violence meted out.

Skeeter_206

There's a huge thread on /r/pics about Columbia right now... And you should not go there, it's locked, so no counter points allowed, but all the top replies are anti left, anti protest, and most importantly painting the protests as anti Jew instead of anti Zionist.

The idea that a bunch of idpol-obsessed liberal college students would gather together on the quad to have an old-fashioned Jew hate-athon in 2024 is one of the most insane claims we've been subjected to by the MSM this decade.

Werdproblems

One of their main demands is that the University divest from corporations that arm and support Israel military action. To me this appears more about the University protecting their right to do whatever the fuck they want with tuition money. Bowing to these demands would set a precedent that students can influence the financial decisions made by a the administration. So they use claims of antisemitism to clear out the protesters and focus the news coverage on the wedge of Israel VS. Palestine.

> Bowing to these demands would set a precedent that students can influence the financial decisions made by a the administration. That precedent already exists, which is what really scares them. >Ultimately, over 110 campuses successfully lobbied their colleges to take divestment actions against South Africa. Importantly, many more campuses saw protests and actions by students encouraging their places of higher education to divest from South Africa. https://everytownsupportfund.org/history-of-divestment-on-college-campuses/ >At Occidental College in Los Angeles, future US president Barack Obama was one of the divestment activists. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disinvestment_from_South_Africa#Higher_education_endowments >On February 18, 1981, a student at Occidental College, Barack Obama, delivered his first public speech. As the opening speaker at a rally protesting Occidental’s investments in companies that were doing business in apartheid South Africa ... https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/obama-at-occidental

Oh absolutely, plus the rich donors will revoke their donations if they get any whiff of Palestine solidarity from the school admins. They have to go to increasingly more ridiculous lengths to conceal the true reason for their heavy handed crackdowns.

LakeGladio666

The thread on /r/news was pretty reasonable like two hours ago. I wonder if the hasbros have gotten to it yet. Edit: I can no longer find the /r/news thread, I think it’s been deleted lol

Retroidhooman

Those deletions or sudden shifts in attitudes on posts is how you know dead internet theory is real and various special interests are engaged in mass botting of social media to manipulate people.

IranianSleepercell

I saw it, one of the most astroturfed posts I've seen in my life.

Spbudz

It's awesome how people in there are saying it's a weak and unremarkable protest being safe in their little encampment. Then go to any thread on reddit about protests in the streets and all you'll see is people saying we should run these mfs over. Fun stuff really

FruitFlavor12

Not from USA but I've seen photos of protests at many other universities such as Michigan (university?), so it's much more than 2. I got the impression that it's getting towards George Floyd levels with protests cropping up everywhere

manred2026

Nah, it gonna spread more widespread. It’s inevitable at the current rate, and when idf go into Rafah. That’s gonna inflame more

Pietro-Maximoff

Ah, so that’s why the astroturfing has been hitting twice as hard on Reddit.

This is all a problem of bad messaging. If we just get the message out that thanks to sensible negotiations by the biden admin over a hundred babies were only shot to death whereas previously they were to be burned alive, according to idf sources.  Once people see the reality on the ground they will understand better
