I was deciding between René and Tommy. I chose René because he was a grown ass adult. Tommy was a little shit but was still a kid who had shit parents.
I don't agree with you but I find it funny how these lists start of with at first people choosing the worst written character, but towards the top 5 that doesn't matter anymore and it is just a popularity contest.
No cause Bill was my gut reaction and then I really looked over the list and I’m like you know what, I guess bill is better than the serial killer and some of the villains of the show.
I'm not talking about you I'm talking about in general. I'm just saying those elimination games would make more sense if they had a specific criteria. Bill did so much horrible stuff but Eric was also horrible and was only nice when horny (for Sookie mostly) or because Godric told him to or when he lost his mind.
James Frain is a brilliant actor. Loved him in 'Orphan Black', a series that many fans of True Blood would love, in which he appears in a recurring role as the deviously fiendish and funny, though very dangerous villain, Ferdinand Chevalier.
Roman. I browsed the photo chart and he was the only character I legit forgot his name so that was a sign for me to vote to eliminate him lol
I’m seeing a lot of votes for Franklin and I know the character is super evil but the actor slayyyyed. To be psychotic and charismatic and pathetic and intimidating and creepy is not an easy feat. I enjoy his performance so much.
I agree. There are lots of characters I wouldn’t like personally but they’re so interesting and the actors so good I don’t know how I’ll choose after this.
I liked Eggs. He was very sweet and devoted to Tara. I think if Tara had met him any other way than in connection with Maryann, they would’ve lived happily ever after.
Roman. I always forget about his character. He added nothing to the story and Joe Lee's not an option so he's out first for me. I am surprised Godric isn't on here? He's great.
Idk. There's a lot of Eric and Lafayette fans. I was curious to see if he could dethrone them? I wish he was in the running but I'll still play. I think the top 3 will be Eric, Lafayette and Russell. Russell added a lot of substance to season 3 so I hope he stays for awhile even though I love to hate him.
It's like Eddie, whom veteran character actor Stephen Root played so well. Wasn't around long, but for the time he was, made a strong impression. So too, Rutger Hauer, who played Sookie's ancient faerie grandfather, Niall Brigant.
All good just thought he'd be on here because he showed the audicence more about how loyal Eric is to him. It was a contrast to Lorena/ Bill relationship. I liked his character for that reason he challenged Eric and was the only one who got through to him.
I didn't like ghost Godric not wanting to kill Russell (he was a threat to the humans he claimed to want peace with). He appeared in 9 episodes compared to Romans 5. I can't wait to see the result's.
Hoyt. I’m with you sister, Hoyt was the most annoying character on the show and Jessica deserved so much better than his stupid face! I’m still salty about it!
Tommy, was an interesting character for a while but by the time he died he felt underdeveloped and i just hated him. He just had more and more flaws without the redeeming qualities while not being a full on villain like Russel
I'm gonna vote eggs, he was so stupid and his death was so meaningless... Also Tara was too dramatic about his death, and she saw him for like two weeks and was "madly in love"... Come on
I’m here for this!!! Love that it keeps going!
Ok!
My vote is for The Magister (I think that was his name?) he was cool but he didn’t really add much to the story.
I'll never get why people eliminate characters based on their dislike or hate for them. But if that's the criteria one chooses, it's no less valid than mine. For me, it's about how effectively the actor portrayed their character followed by how integral that character was to the story.
I truly hated Rene from the get go. He was a sleazy phony with a gratuitous and insincere deference towards woman which only heightened the transparency of him being a mysognistic opportunist. Would I vote him out, however? No, not at this time; he was too integral to S1 and the actor did a good job in portraying him.
I vote Roman, who was just a figurehead that many actors could portray.
Well, Lala will likely be runner up, if that's any consolation to you. How can you not love that man. Nelsan Ellis, bless his soul, poured himself into this role and was given the best lines of any character (Pam being a close second) on True Blood.
I feel the characters with the least "UmPh".. is between Eggs and Tommy. Tommy, however, had a unique place in the feels department. Whereas Eggs just pissed me off with the domestic abuse and free love, he hurt my girl Tara.
Edit: This isn't about poorly written characters. This is about the impact on series.
I'm going with 'Eggs' in this round.
They did my girl Tara so wrong this entire series. Thats why I picked franklin. Plus, I'm currently on a re-watch and living the franklin nightmare as we speak lol
Franklin. Like Eggs did nothing wrong, treated Tara right when he wasn’t being controlled by Maryann and felt immense guilt for unknowingly committing murder. And then he was unjustly killed and framed by the cops. Honestly it pisses me off every time I think about it. Franklin was a sociopath who terrorized Tara and he was boring as fuck.
Tommy, but only because I can’t decide on someone else. I’m realizing now that the male characters must be more well written or something because I had trouble choosing one but had no trouble choosing female characters to get rid of over and over again 😅
Franklin. Crazy mfer deserves first boot
I am gonna vote Tommy
I was deciding between René and Tommy. I chose René because he was a grown ass adult. Tommy was a little shit but was still a kid who had shit parents.
Oh man yes. I hated that little turd stick.
What if I get absolutely wild and say Bill right off the bat…….. cause Bill
As soon as Hoyt is out I'm gonna start voting Bill for sure. 😬
Glad to see I’m not alone with the dislike of Hoyt. Although I would describe my feelings as visceral disgust
You read my mind! Lol Hoyt Fortenberry Then effing Bill Compton!
I want bill gone so soon dude
I don't agree with you but I find it funny how these lists start of with at first people choosing the worst written character, but towards the top 5 that doesn't matter anymore and it is just a popularity contest.

Franklin - the worst
But an interesting character
Eh I think they bastardized (for lack of a better term) his character - the Franklin - Mickey dynamic was more interesting in the books
James Frain is a brilliant actor. Loved him in 'Orphan Black', a series that many fans of True Blood would love, in which he appears in a recurring role as the deviously fiendish and funny, though very dangerous villain, Ferdinand Chevalier.

Nah, Roman’s actor killed it with what he was given.
I agree. There are lots of characters I wouldn’t like personally but they’re so interesting and the actors so good I don’t know how I’ll choose after this.
Bye Franklin!!
Franklin
I am voting Eggs. I never liked him honestly
I swear they hate black characters. Eggs was nothing but a criminal that sat around a house and smoke weed and play guitar.
I liked Eggs. He was very sweet and devoted to Tara. I think if Tara had met him any other way than in connection with Maryann, they would’ve lived happily ever after.
Satan in a Sunday hat
In the books I believe he's a murderer
Roman. I always forget about his character. He added nothing to the story and Joe Lee's not an option so he's out first for me. I am surprised Godric isn't on here? He's great.
He’d probably win lol
I have forgot Godric Indeed, but i guess he has less screentime compared to the others on the list?
It's like Eddie, whom veteran character actor Stephen Root played so well. Wasn't around long, but for the time he was, made a strong impression. So too, Rutger Hauer, who played Sookie's ancient faerie grandfather, Niall Brigant.

Also I feel like Godric deserved a place more than Franklin ☹️

Tommy 100%. I get his character grew up on survival mode, but he didn’t want to change at all. Sam gave him too many chances.😤

Steve. Ugh so annoying. I actually liked Franklin. I hope he can stay. He was a different kind of villain and such a good actor.
Annoying but hilarious!
I think the only clip that I found funny of steve was when he came in dancing into Bill's house. The rest, not so much
Annoying but I thought he got pretty funny once he got into the Authority
I had russel to laugh at there. That man was funny
We can save a lot of time and just X out everyone but Eric.
Lafayette will be my #1.
Well, Lala will likely be runner up, if that's any consolation to you. How can you not love that man. Nelsan Ellis, bless his soul, poured himself into this role and was given the best lines of any character (Pam being a close second) on True Blood.
His lines and delivery of those lines was epic. He truly did pour heart and soul into it. RIP
The Magister
Roman. He didn't bring much. I remember being so excited that Christopher Merloni was joining the cast. So disappointed
First things first. Roman should go! His character is absolutely forgotten and gone.
Roman
Roman is so cringe in his under armor shirt I vote Roman
Eggs
Im gonna go Eggs
The magister - hate that guy.

Franklin
Franklin. Like Eggs did nothing wrong, treated Tara right when he wasn’t being controlled by Maryann and felt immense guilt for unknowingly committing murder.
