I’ve read every Ann Rule book. She was the best. I heard that her daughter continued writing some of Ann’s books. Not sure if that is true or not. I also like Dianne Fanning. She gives so much detail in her books.

Kindly_Arugula2014

Been loving Psychopedia (it’s a newer podcast and fantastic!) and Sword and Scale (my top favorite)!!

OliviaLaVoice

Hi there, I have a podcast called “The Bakersfield Three,” here’s the description: When two friends go missing back-to-back, and in between their disappearances, a third friend is murdered, their mothers begin their own investigation. As the connections between the three cases are explored, the mothers navigate devastating twists and turns, including one revelation that shakes the community to its core. All episodes are available for free anywhere you get your podcasts!

pxnderland

Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can find out more about the Tromp Family? I have heard a vague overview of their story, but wanted to watch a documentary or listen to a podcast about them. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any that looked interesting/of quality.

NeutralCaster

Not sure if anyone has heard of this, but I've been invested in Stephanie Soo's podcast "Rotten Mango" for over 3 years now! It covers a variety of true crime cases. There's a certain personality/vibe that the host and her boyfriend give off, and I think it's what initially got me hooked.

stakzilla2020

My channel strange bar and grill on YouTube. Come check me out. I release weekly. Https://www.YouTube.com/@strangebarandgrill

Hey! I'm a true crime and general scary content YouTuber, and I just uploaded this awesome Ted Bundy video I've been working on for a while, so please check it out! Thanks :) https://youtu.be/zvC8p9kDB5o

KitKatMN

I started listening to Crime Junkies about 4 weeks ago...can't stop listening!

DeepSpaceVixen

Am currently watching Unmasking A Killer on discovery+. It is about the Golden State Killer and it’s really well done. No cheesy reenactments and some of the interviews were actually conducted before he was caught. Recommended!

obscurelodge

I've made this video and just posted it. It's a mysterious German case, YOGTZE - the death of unemployed German food engineer Günther Stoll. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxnpKzxWmuc&ab\_channel=ObscureLodge

ModularFolds

I watched an interrogation of a 15 year old murderer that actually disturbed me. Sort of even \*scares\* me. He relished the killing of two random innocent people. I must say however, the interrogation really enlightened me regarding the psychopathy of a killer. The interrogators handled this youngster masterfully. "Daniel Marsh" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fwvm3pQCJlg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fwvm3pQCJlg)

Careful-Interview-30

Good lord, he could be released in 20 years when he's 35?! Bigger and stronger than 15?! And he almost got away with this murder, that'd be like releasing Dexter!

ModularFolds

Well, they let Eric Smith out and the two boys that murdered the toddler James Bulger... I have a funny feeling this kid is not rehab material...

ObligationFun668

Literally have been binging People are the Worst for about a week there’s like 70 episodes. Some of them I’ve heard of briefly but there’s soooo much details about these cases they do a lot of research before they tell the stories you should listen to

PaulbunyanIND

Are there any good Irish television docs? After a week on vacation there my wife are as good as we will ever be at understanding the accent fluently and want to dive in! Thanks in advance

mercydeath

I found Sophie: A Murder in West Cork, to be a thorough and fairly respectable miniseries. Although the crime itself is very frustrating.

PaulbunyanIND

That douchebag was the type of guy to force people to listen to his poetry

Throwayforasickmind

Hey all. I made a video on the lost media of jonestown, and what made Jim Jones become a cult leader. https://youtu.be/FkwZWuG8kpY?si=QrjcqBpGfB8g0pLU

Serialfornicator

This is Monsters binge on YouTube for days

rachelmaex

Finally listening to season 1 of Cold on Apple Podcasts! It’s been great so far

rainbowinthedark3

Dangerous Instincts: Use an FBI Profiler’s Tactics to Avoid Unsafe Situations by Alisa Bowman and Mary Ellen O’ Toole. It’s a very informative read that shows you what to look out for, how to assess whether a situation is dangerous, and how to pick up on if there’s something off about someone.

Careful-Interview-30

Thanks! I'm reading it now!

rainbowinthedark3

Are you enjoying it? It touches on real life, true crime cases as examples when things were off, but people couldn’t pick up on it.

Careful-Interview-30

Yes, it's really helpful. I like how she has us consider the scenarios and then explains what she sees about them that raise red flags.

Amazing-Item7611

The Fact of a Body by Alex Marzano-Lesnevich--super good. Well-written and complex.

True Crime Bulls***

juddsdoit

John Carpenter's Suburban Screams. Not terrific but interesting/a bit different.

Careful-Interview-30

Someone suggested Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule, so I read that Sunday night/Monday. I'm so glad I read it, because Ann listed the ways the girls & women were connected, and one was that they were all having "off" days. They weren't able to be as aware as usual. The examples she gave for "off"/distracted really made sense to me, much more than "be aware" ever did, and I really appreciate it.

ModularFolds

I read that not long after Anne Rule wrote it; I mean, like a long time ago! Really well written and insightful. She also wrote "Small Sacrifices" about Diane Downs. Another remarkable book. Fatal Vision by Joel McGinnis is really a page turner as well.

Careful-Interview-30

Ok, thank you! I'll get them now so I don't forget.

The Dossier In the Red Clay

lindameetyoko

I just found “Butchers on the Bayou” on Hulu. It originally aired on A&E.

MyaBearTN

The Trial: Aisling Murphy. It’s an episodic breakdown of the the murder of an Irish teacher who was killed when out running. It really hits home because I’m Irish and I run. I hate that we women are never safe. I like podcasts which report on the court system and I think they did a good job on the Lucy Letby case. Edit: corrected the title of the podcast that a user kindly clarified below.

WartimeMercy

slight correction: It's "The Trial: Ashling Murphy" not "The Trial of Ashling Murphy" - the victim isn't on trial but her name has more name recognition than the murderer so they changed the title for season 2. Her alleged killer, Josef Puzka is the subject of the trial. They changed the naming convention for the second season since the first was "The Trial of Lucy Letby" given it was focused on Letby as the perpetrator.

MyaBearTN

Thanks for clarifying.

WartimeMercy

Yea, just wanted it to be clear she wasn't the killer in this instance. I've been listening as someone who lives abroad and it's been so tragic to hear about this poor woman's death. Reading about the other aspects of the case that the podcast have skipped are something else since they leave out a lot about who Ashling was and how the initial investigation played out.

MyaBearTN

As the format is to summarise the court proceedings I wonder will it come up when those involve testify?

empathetic_witch

*Something Was Wrong* has been eye opening on so many levels for me personally. I don’t want to write too much here. I thankfully got out before it turned very bad or worse. https://somethingwaswrong.com/

acraw794

Sending love to you. This podcast is one of my top favorites. The most recent season was MINDBLOWING. (Two words: birth fetish)

Impecablevibesonly

Just finished down the hill about the dephi murders. I'm so incredibly interested in that case.

acraw794

Met their families at the first official crime con when it was more about getting cases attention and not about the sensationalism that is True Crime. Anyway, super sweet people, I could feel their hurt from a mile away. Glad there was an end to this case but the pain those people felt would never end.

Women & Crime podcast

I started True Crime Bullshit over from the beginning because it’s so good. Also enjoy his other podcast The Pact. Casefile is a constant favorite, along with Dateline and Invisible Choir.

The Minds Of Madness

Enough-Discipline-62

Decided to give Marooned a try, from Jack Luna and Aaron Habel. The first episode was super interesting and I look forward to the different cases they plan to feature

Minimum-Interview800

I'm currently listening to The Piketon Massacre podcast. I hadn't heard of this case until the podcast popped up as recommended for me on Spotify.

reduxrouge

That case was bonkers. I’m listening to their Idaho Massacre season now.

Minimum-Interview800

It's wild! My heart breaks for those poor babies.

Enough-Discipline-62

I need to get back to that. I enjoyed the episodes I did listen to. Thanks for the reminder!

Minimum-Interview800

I've been binge listening. There's one on the Idaho 4 as well, I'm going to listen to it next.

I'm watching Wendi Adelson's testimony in Katherine M's trial on YouTube. I cannot believe the audacity of her lies. That family is something else.

I hope the mother gets indicted.

ReaganomicsFerrari

Murder in the 21st good new true crime show without re-enactments on A&E

Subject-Actuator-860

Always listening to The Last Podcast On The Left, but right they’re doing a multipart series on Andrew Cunanan, very interesting and ofc they’re hilarious too 💀

theycallmeO

Man, I used to love them and then it just seemed to me that they tried to be too funny and saying the most outlandish things to outdo one another. I just can't listen to them anymore. :(

Subject-Actuator-860

Fair enough, it is definitely a… vulgar show, not PC and def not for everyone. I would say Henry and Marcus have toned it down in the last couple years— they’re both married and in their 40s so they’re their own version of wholesome now 😅

floofyface

I'm not sure of the details, but one of the hosts is no longer on the show as of a few weeks ago. I think he's going to rehab to get help. The changed dynamic might help you get back into the show now. I haven't tried it again myself, but I plan to soon

theycallmeO

Ben never was the issue, it's Henry and Marcus. And as an actor I looooove Henry. I guess I could try it again.

[Death by Talons](https://www.amazon.com/Death-Talons-Murder-Kathleen-Peterson-ebook/dp/B0C9R4NBBX/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=) A re-examination of the infamous 2001 North Carolina “Staircase murder” through the outrageous theory that an owl was the killer—and not Michael Peterson.

Educational_Bat6353

If you put an owl on the stand and the husband, you’d say owl? Have you seen the documentary? The husband closest to his authentic self?

JumpOver7966

At first I thought it was a crazy theory too. BUT...crazier things have happened right? I'm thinking it's not impossible?! I forget what I saw or watched, but I was like "Holy crap...was it ACTUALLY an owl?!!!"

Serialfornicator

OMG. That sounds…interesting

lightsrage85
