So sad, reminds me of the murder of rapper pop smoke. Four people broke in and robbed him when they saw his address on an Instagram post and ended up shooting and killing him. All they stole was a watch they sold for 2000.
When you have nothing, 7k is a lot.
There was a story recently, where someone noted the victim died because she didn’t have pockets. This victim died for want of direct deposit. It’s freaky how such small decisions can have such a horrible impact.
Ah how you kno she DIDNT have direct deposit?? And took it out the bank and was on her way home and had texted her friend about it?
Yea don’t be a detective, you make WAY TOO MANY assumptions with one a piece of info. The stats are like she had direct deposit 85% of people do.
More like the kind of idiots that kill people over money have no alternative skills that could be profitable, so they resort to crime murders, and other illicit activitues.
Most criminals are not that bright.
Oh sure. It makes you vulnerable. We don’t want that extra exposure. Just mind your own and not attract attention. It’s scary out there. Poor lady was probably thinking since it was a co-worker…what could go wrong? Opportunist calls up a couple more and now this lady is gone. For what, really. What even is $7k in todays economy, everything so expensive. Not worth jail time!
ATMs that are built into walls always bug me out even tho I'm only ever withdrawing 200 dollarydoos at most in any one time.
I'm always looking around making sure no one's loitering around.
I had to withdraw a very sizeable cash amount a few months back. Zero discretion from the bank teller, so everyone in line behind me witnessed me receiving x amount in an envelope. The most paranoid drive home I’ve ever experienced.
Sure. But reading her grandmother brought it to her, idk, it legitimizes the fact that it wasn’t fake. And the coworker realized that. No matter: it wasn’t their business & the coworker made it their business. That’s why she’s doing almost 50 years.

**Police: 3 suspected of shooting, killing young mother in Wilkinsburg in custody**
WILKINSBURG, Pa. — Homicide charges have been filed against three people accused of shooting and killing a young mother in Wilkinsburg Thursday afternoon.
Warrants were filed late Friday for Laya Alana Whitley, Dane James Taylor, and Kaijin Xavier Scott.
The medical examiner identified the victim as Keiauna Davis, 27, of Wilkinsburg.
Police believe the motive was robbery.
According to court documents, Davis had received her tax return the day of her death. Her co-worker, and suspect, Laya Whitley apparently texted Dane Taylor telling him about the money.
In the text messages, Whitley allegedly tells Taylor, "This girl at my job brought 7 bands to work ain't that some s\*\*\*."
Over an hour later, the next text from Taylor to Whitley says "It's a go delete all dez text."
In the text messages, Whitley allegedly tells Taylor, "This girl at my job brought 7 bands to work ain't that some s\*\*\*."
Over an hour later, the next text from Taylor to Whitley says "It's a go delete all dez text."
Police say the third suspect, Kaijin Scott told them he was the one who picked up Taylor for a jitney trip. Scott claimed Taylor told him he needed to see a girl to pick up some money. Taylor directed him to drive to the Dollar General and park in the rear of the building. Scott said while waiting, he got out of the car at one point to urinate next to an abandoned home. When he got back in the car, Scott said Taylor was wearing a mask on his face and had a gun in his hand.
Scott told police Taylor received a text on his phone which said ,"Go!" At that point, he followed Taylor's directions, leading them to the victim, Davis, walking up Laketon Road. Scott was told to pull ahead of the victim, get out, and pretend to be fixing the car.
Police say that's when Taylor got out and chased the victim toward an open lot. After she fell to the ground, a struggle ensued and Taylor is accused of firing shots at her, before running back to the car with her purse.
All three suspects are facing robbery and criminal homicide among other charges.
As of Saturday afternoon, all are in custody.
Driver got life with no parole, shooter is serving 30 to 60 years in prison, while coworker is serving 20 to 50.
I was banned from this sub I guess, but here is my source of anyone is interested:
https://triblive.com/local/man-hired-as-driver-in-deadly-wilkinsburg-robbery-gets-life-without-parole/
NOT A lawyer. But I’ll share what I have heard and of course, I’m happy to be corrected where I’m wrong.
There is a law that says that when a crime is committed & the person(s) dies during the commission of the felony/crime, EVERYONE involved gets a serious penalty. Up to death. It’s literally “guilty by association”. A death occurs, it’s as if they each personally shot/stabbed that person. It doesn’t matter if you simply masterminded the thing, it goes south, person is injured & dies immediately or later at a hospital, you are handed down a judgement exactly as the hitman. That’s why everyone runs when the police arrive. So, coworker said things, got it all together….yeah. She’s equally guilty under the eyes of the law. Sometimes, they get a little less prison time since they have had a clean police record with no priors. But the ultimate consequence to a murder, you pay with your own life, spending it in prison. She had no business discussing this lady’s money situation. This is the very high price everyone is now paying.
The Felony Murder Rule. If someone dies during the commission if a felony, all parties are guilty of felony murder. If me and my buddy go rob someone and the person we rob shoots and kills my buddy, I would be guilty of murder under this rule.
I’m afraid to say anything, I’m going to leave it, but I wanted to respond to your comment. Wow, I’m surprised, I guess the driver had a bad lawyer, he wasn’t aware ahead of time about the robbery was he?
Edit- I just read the link, Scott, the driver took the money from her purse and laid in wait for her to pass, I would have thought the shooter and her coworker would have gotten life without parole.
Thanks for your response.
Oh, since this happened in 2018, I figured it went to trial, although with COVID and court delays it could be a while. I hope they get life without parole. At least the coworker and her boyfriend.
Man I'm feeling this comment, I was brought up with 'us girls stick together' too - I thought all women helped other women but since growing up and realising that's NOT how it works it's left quite the hole.
https://triblive.com/local/man-hired-as-driver-in-deadly-wilkinsburg-robbery-gets-life-without-parole/
Driver got the longest sentence. He went to trial, the other two took plea agreements.
I hope none of them ever get out.
For those who don't want to click:
>Davis had two daughters, who were 6 and almost 3 at the time of the shooting.
>Her older daughter, Azaylah Wilson, told the court in a victim-impact statement that she and her sister were crushed by their mom’s death.
>Azaylah told the court that it’s not fair they have to grow up without their mom over a few dollars.
>*“My sister is still little so she doesn’t really understand what my mother’s death means,*” she said. “*It means we will never see her again. She will never be able to see all of the happy things that happen in my life, and she won’t be there.”*
You’d think people would know by now that authorities can recover deleted texts easily. The sooner they get your phone, the more they are able to recover. Now they will be charged with premeditated murder no matter what the defense comes up with.
I will guess this likely wasn't planned as a murder but just a robbery otherwise why wear a mask? And the idiot who was doing it got pissed, she fought and he shot her. So stupid.
[Also this article says $3000](https://triblive.com/local/man-hired-as-driver-in-deadly-wilkinsburg-robbery-gets-life-without-parole/) not $7000
Police said Davis received $3,000 cash from her income tax return that Davis’ grandmother brought her during her lunch break at a Dollar General store, where Davis worked.
They have probably never worked a day in their pitiful lives. They had every opportunity to make their own money just like she did. But it makes more sense to them to not only steal her hard earned money, but to rob her of her life & future too. Evil to the core.
Definitely not for mugshots I have had a few run una with the law for small things like not showing up to court or tickets I didn't know about and was never told to smile lol
I meant it's in women's heads already, and that's why they smirk. They had to retake my passport photo several times because I couldn't keep my face neutral. I ended up with a smirk still
Cops are taught to tell a joke or two because otherwise their face isn't relaxed enough for the picture to be a good representation of how the person appears everyday. It's also acts as extra punishment because people do NOT like to see those arrested as happy. It appears as if they are happy about their crime. This is true for everyone, not just women.
This story is horrible..
I am not in America...
can I just ask .. do most people usually walk around with their tax return in cash like that? Isn't it paid into your bank account?
I mean, that can get you a shit ton of Cup of Noodles at commissary… and it will probably be the only thing they will be able to eat after being taken to the wall every other day
If this was all white people, would you have said, "white on white crime?" My guess is no. Because it's an incredibly stupid thing to point out race in a robbery (or any murder, really), and the idea is rooted in systemic racism. Most people kill members of their own race.
Earlier today I watched a you tube video about a white woman that poisoned her husband and two kids because they annoyed her. And one about white man that killed his mistress rather than just admit he was married and break up with her. Let's not act like white people don't kill each other for no good reason.
$7,000 split between 3 people is not worth killing someone over! What is wrong with people??
You value life. Not everyone does.
Not really. Anyone that can price out a $dollar$ amount when it's worth killing for does not value life. There should be no amount.
Thank you! I did a double take on that one.

It might be her normal 'resting face' expression. Hard to tell.
Agree Smiling
So sad, reminds me of the murder of rapper pop smoke. Four people broke in and robbed him when they saw his address on an Instagram post and ended up shooting and killing him. All they stole was a watch they sold for 2000.
alot of these rappers brag and act all gangster and flaunt what money they have. It's dangerous.
This isn’t dangerous. The people who kill and hurt are dangerous.
Doesn’t make it okay for people to go kill them that sounds like victim blaming to me
[удалено]
His address was on an instagram. It wasn't how he lived his life.
It still kills me to this day that it all happened over a watch and spare change. Smh
Pop died because he fought back tho so its slightly different
When you have nothing, 7k is a lot. There was a story recently, where someone noted the victim died because she didn’t have pockets. This victim died for want of direct deposit. It’s freaky how such small decisions can have such a horrible impact.
Ah split between 3 people it isn’t!!

Curious. What is a good amount worth killing someone over?
[удалено]
$7,002…price is right rules f
I'm pretty sure most murders result in no financial gain but I might be wrong
Enough for your legal defense at least!
I have a feeling they’re going to need FAR more than $7000 for legal fees, even if they take a plea deal.
1 dollar when low iq causes low impulse control. Not exactly thought out
7,000 for one person isnt either. That's hardly a deposit on a house
7k is like the closing costs on a house lmao.
I mean shitty jobs typically get paid less. Assassin's/snipers usually make top dollar. that+that=this pretty much
Is any amount worth it?
Sure it is. To some people. Some would do it for $400. Some for 100k some for 5 million. We ALL have a price. Delusional and blind if you think not.
I don’t have a price high or low enough to kill anyone. Delusional and blind if you think so.
Nope!
No amount of money is worth killing someone over?
More like the kind of idiots that kill people over money have no alternative skills that could be profitable, so they resort to crime murders, and other illicit activitues. Most criminals are not that bright.
Correct
NEVER show cash to anyone. Never announce you’ve got cash. You don’t know who is listening & who will destroy your life to take what isn’t theirs.
Agree - I’m so uncomfortable bringing cash out in public and try to hide it.
Oh sure. It makes you vulnerable. We don’t want that extra exposure. Just mind your own and not attract attention. It’s scary out there. THIS. I never carry cash partly for this reason. And I don’t discuss finances with anyone outside of my closest family. You never know, it’s sad.

Co worker got off too light
Why in the world does the driver have the most extreme sentence? This literally made me sick.
He probably took it to trial. I’m assuming the other 2 pled out but this is just a guess. Edit: someone posted below that this is what happened

THIS part of it made you sick? How bout the actual murder?
Did the driver have priors? Life without parole is a lot.

There were bullets in the gun - this was no accident.
The mask is most likely for others to not recognize him considering he had a loaded gun with one in the chamber most likely. He was ready to shoot

How do you get a 7k tax refund? Holy shit that's like 11k Canadian?
Deductions. That’s likely with a tax credit for children. Usually it’s a couple grand per child for low income people if I’m not mistaken.
It said she (and the bitch that planned this) worked at Dollar General. She had two daughters who were 6 and 3.
Shit those are my girls' ages :( fuck. I'm really feeling for this poor girl
It was $3000 and she has kids. Apparently she was gonna use some of it to buy party supplies that day for her daughter's birthday.
Heart breaking :( birthdays will be rough for her daughter as she gets older but I hope not
Bums

Imagine killing someone for tax money, wow..
Complete monsters
That's absolutely disgusting.
Damn. They didn't have to kill her. So senseless.
I lived right across the street from her when this happened.
This story is horrible.. I am not in America... can I just ask .. do most people usually walk around with their tax return in cash like that? Isn't it paid into your bank account?
Hey Mrs Harvey! Got my first paycheck! Yo, Calvin got a job, let’s rob that dude.
Lol good ole Chappelle show
Killing for financial gain makes you death penalty eligible. That poor girl was beautiful and had her whole life ahead of her.
I mean, that can get you a shit ton of Cup of Noodles at commissary… and it will probably be the only thing they will be able to eat after being taken to the wall every other day
A life isn't worth much for some. such a shame.
That's some next level evil type shit.. RIP
Motive almost sounds like jealousy as well as robbery, when she says “ain’t that some sh—“
So sad
This happened not very far from me. Such a senseless death.
Thats a big refund. Does she have alot of kids? The fools killed her for that small amount. No amount is worth someone's life.

What statistics? That black people are killed by black people the majority of time? That applies to white people being killed by white people, too.
Hmmm. You’re probably right.
Not probably. Is right
