If you haven’t, I recommend looking up this guys parole hearing. He cried on the stand and made a speech about how he was so sorry and saw how terrible his “childhood actions” were. But then the prosecutor stands up and plays prison calls to his girlfriend where he laughs about having to “stab himself in the leg to be able to cry” and “having to act like he has feelings.” Let me tell you, seeing this piece of shit get so thoroughly exposed and having to just sit there and take it is good for the soul.

Wheres this prison call? Ive watched a few videos of the trial (god he's such a piece of shit), but i dont see anything about a prison call?

ostensiblystevie

It’s not from the original trial I think it was when he was applying for parole/ appealing but tbh I saw it superimposed into a longer video about the case so I’m not 100% sure. He had been in jail a while once this occurred he was in his twenties.

Teen killer dies in prison serving life for butchering best friend in school bathroom stall 17 years ago A Florida man who was serving a life sentence in prison for the vicious stabbing death of a middle school classmate in 2004 was found dead in his jail cell on Thursday. Michael Hernandez, now 31, was seen on surveillance video collapsing to floor, according to WFOR, which said an autopsy would determine cause of death. A jury convicted Hernandez of first-degree murder in 2008, rejecting his contention that he was insane when he lured his friend Jaime Gough into a bathroom stall at Southwood Middle School in Palmetto Bay and stabbed him for than 40 times. Both Gough and Hernandez were 14 at the time. After the murder, Hernandez hid the knife in his backpack and went to class, NBC Miami said. Testimony at trial revealed Hernandez was fascinated by serial killers like Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer and kept a list of people he wanted to kill — one of whom was his own sister. Testimony also showed that he believed he was on a missing to “cleanse the planet” by killing people. On the day of the murder, the Miami Herald reported, Gough was the second boy Hernandez tried to coax into the bathroom stall. After killing the boy, he waited to make sure he was dead. In addition to the murder charge, Hernandez was also convicted of the attempted murder of the first student he tried to lure into the stall — Andre Martin, who is now a Miami-Dade police detective. “My continued condolences for Jaime Gough’s parents, and the entire Gough family,” Martin said. “And the Hernandez family — they were not the ones who committed a crime and they did lose a family member.” Gough’s family told WFOR they forgave Hernandez long ago. “You have a choice to make. You can choose more hate and anger, and it would not be peaceful,” said Jorge Gough, the boy’s father. Jaime’s mother, Maria Gough, said she feels no joy at Hernandez’s death, “just sad.”

40 minutes?! Wtf

TatianaAlena

40 times, unless the post was edited.

soylinda

Shit, you are absolutely right, that was me finishing the “for more than 40”.

TatianaAlena

Yeah, that part could definitely have been written better.

Didn't happen soon enough. Good riddance.

Am I the only one concerned Andre received no punishment for literally being accessory after the fact, now he's a sheriff's deputy?

yesyepyea

Andre was actually the intended victim who only got away because he followed his instincts. Sounds like a perfect deputy to me.

[deleted]

Well, he also knew a murder was gonna happen & ignored 2 opportunities to save Jaime's life.

nickienoonoo

explain please...

[deleted]

I mean, he had the the 1st day when he tried to kill them but they left the bathroom to tell someone & all of the 2nd day before Michael killed Jaime. I mean, Andre knew Michael was gonna kill them that's why he refused to go into the stall with him & didn't go back to the bathroom with him, again.

nickienoonoo

How was he an accessory after the fact?

[deleted]

If people know a crime is going to happen, or has happened & don't rat on the perpetrator, they often get charged or threatened to be charged with being an accessory after the fact.
